(Dear lord, I had to compress the hell out of this to get under the 200kb maximum here. Has this photo size limit been changed since the early ‘00s?!?? I understand that this is designed to be mostly a text board but I don’t see and I don’t post photos very often. But this is like two pixels for a nose.)

You do realize that was over 3 days worth. It’s not like they had 700k every day. You have almost 80k show up to the Stadium on a regular Sunday throughout the season and that’s basically just for the Bills. You could easily double that when you throw in every single NFL team and their rabid fan bases in there.

Im not saying they would break that record, im simply saying 700k is not an accurate number based off the argument your making.

1million showed up in Niagara Falls I believe and NF isn’t as big as Buffalo. I don’t know for sure how crazy it was, I was out of town. But I know many people that work in law enforcement and there were definitely assumptions that 1m+ would be in the surrounding areas.

if they were to do a draft in Buffalo it would likely be down near the Harbor. Only logical place for it. Rail goes right there, highway entrances very nearby. Open space for it. Near the water. Near Canada. Only place I could see that might be more doable is Niagara Square. Unless they were to hold it right at the new/old stadium in OP. There’s plenty of space but no amenities near by. Maybe they do it in place of the old Ralph after it’s torn down. Or maybe they do it in either stadium. Idk. Definitely possible though.

They’d have to do the draft in Buffalo-proper. Likely in Pegulavile at / near KeyBank arena. There’s simply nothing to do in OP, nowhere to eat, shop, sh—, sightsee. iirc, the recent drafts aren’t at or near that city’s football stadium. Detroit’s this year was in the downtown.

Wait till the day they decide to build a new one.

Possible to retrofit? They've done that at all of the majors / Slam tennis tournaments, including Ashe and BJK in NYC. The bowl rim of football stadium obviously is larger but I’m sure it could be engineered.

I swear the Bills will eventually end up the only NFL team that plays outdoors.

The only one north of the Mason-Dixon Line anyway.

That Chiefs - Dolphins playoff game last year played in temps that were 10 below zero. I can understand a dome. KC doesn't have the reputation for bad late season weather that Buffalo does but they do get their share of crappy weather. Why the Bills won't have a dome is nuts.

Seeing how the league office has been chomping for 18 games and home games well into February for awhile now, it was beyond stupid for us to stay open air or to at least not do a retractable roof. Climate change is only making weather more and more to the extremes & unpredictable. Probably 50% of our future February games are going to have to be played in Detroit.

The problem is that they have too many people in these studios.  They just fake laugh about everything instead of having meaningful discussion.  TNF has a better crew than either Fox or CBS.

Same for the game announcing crews. As legendary Kentucky basketball coach Adolph Rupp would say, “Don’t speak unless you can improve the silence.” And all too often they don’t. I wish we could have an option to silence the announcers s d just hear the sounds of the field like they capture with those clear parabola antenna looking things.

  5. What gets me is posters here who compare guys’ speeds that were run at the combine 5 or 8 years ago, as if they certainly could do that today.

There are a few tricks one can do to achieve a faster 40 time, that are then gone after they run for the combine & pro days. There’s 40 speed and then there’s football speed. It’s tantamount to cramming for a test vis. short-term memory when the goal of an education is / should be learning & wisdom. Two different things.

This front office will never build around Allen… and I think the biggest reason for that is Sean McDermott.

So many assets given to McD’s defense.

This isn’t really a defense league anymore. You get flagged & fined for playing defense. Best you can do on D is have guys occupy space akin to a 🏀 thrown-up-hand vs. a 3-point shot. What you do isn’t really gonna affect things. You just have to hope the guy/s on Offense makes a mistake, and then you claim credit for “defense.”

If you can’t keep up on Offense against teams that are getting faster and faster, you have no shot.

  7. Nope.

There may be the thought that Josh will make whoever is out there better. Like how Brady always seemed to make chicken 💩 look like chicken salad. Dude gave back a lot of money on his contract and BB would use it on his defense… until TB’s demands for a primo WR brought them Randy Moss.

I think that’s too much to put on Josh’s shoulders to make other guys look good.

  8. Major downgrade. The old ones had a classic look.

These are just a complete mishmash of design. And they incorporate the worst Nike trends that they’re pushing on every team. Large wordmarks, red helmet with dark blue logo producing chromostereopsis to the human eye (while the jersey has a white outline with the dark blue), no consistency, perforated numbers, incomplete or no pant stripes. The H Color Rush design is absolute trash. Terrible.

F the Nike design group and the teams who accept this 💩 — although I imagine there’s a ton of pressure from Nike and the league to just go with what Nike throws at them. They are destroying everything classic. They’ve done it with baseball too.

  9. The more they have to explain the design choices like the little mountain ticks that now compose the center helmet stripe and the sleeve slashes that represent mountains and the 5280 for Mile High yadda yadda yadda. I don’t want a friggin story with a design. I just want it to look good and this does not. The late-90s ones were dated but they’re better than these things. Ultra-modern design that makes them look like an arena league team; Nike likes to push the envelope in this regard and it disgusts me. Now they’re pushing the perforated numbers on everyone and it looks terrible. God help us if our Bills do a redesign. Tradition & classic design will never go out of style, whereas this crap will be in the bargain bins in 8 years, tops.

OTOH, the sky blue early Elway era throwback that was revealed is so sweet, tho. Chef’s kiss. Wish that had been the primaries. Wish we had done a red helmet Kelly era set now that alternate color helmets are allowed. I don’t know what we’re waiting for.

  10. After the Challenger disaster, NASA implemented a policy of coming forward with any concerns, no such thing as a dumb question or too small of a detail (because something like a faulty O-ring was the cause of the explosion), safety of the program is paramount.

How quick the human race is to forget. We learn nothing.

Well the one thing we can agree on is that the NFL is genius when it comes to finding ways to make money.  New unis, new helmets will just bring in cash, and also doing this in April is a great way to re-energize interest prior to the draft.

For…. all the people who collect… all of the different colors of helmets? This is much more just an on-field ‘look’ thing than about money-making. Otherwise for different jerseys, it simply gives fans more options.

  12. Please let New Orleans bring out the Old Gold to match their awesome throwbacks. Why they went with a black alternate helmet last year is just beyond me. Like pairing a $5,000 bottle of wine with a peanut butter & jelly sandwich on wonderbread.

Haven’t heard anything about us adding a red helmet Kelly-era throwback. Maybe they’re waiting until the new stadium? But why?

So did anyone see the start of last night's Rangers-Devils game. They dropped the puck, and a 5 on 5 fight broke out.

I’m assuming that something happened in pre-game or the previous game that carried over to the puck-drop? Coordinated thing when everyone starts fighting *right away.*
