I think it's a good thing for the Bills when our opponents have crappy QB's, like the Patriots the last few seasons,  the Jets forever...

nah it keeps them drafting high. I want them in QB purgatory where they win enough to be drafting 15-20 each year

Granting permission to seek a trade is like granting permission to seek parole.

The player can say “I want to be traded to the X’s”.  It doesn’t matter. His team will decide  where he goes or if he is traded at all.  That’s it.

I truly don’t know why some of you are struggling with this.  Players don’t make trades—even if they ask very politely.

You're original question was what was the point of asking for a trade. I answered it. Then you began arguing who actually makes the trade. Stick to the point. I gave several examples of players requesting trades and the team granting permission for the player to seek the trade, yet you can't get it through your head.

nah...teams trade players.  players don't trade teams.

as such, I'm sure the 49ers already have discussed this with possible trade partners in order to weight the value they get in return and weigh it against paying him or franchising him.

the player wouldn't be part of those discussions. he may prefer to to go to this other team or that, but it's not up to him.

Not sure why you keep arguing this. Here's some examples. A simple Google search would of stopped you from looking like you don't know what you're talking about.

what's the point of requesting a trade?  it's the team's prerogative--and it's likely they have already considered it.  their price isn't out there so they are holding pat for now.  they got him for another year

Typically if the team is willing to trade, when a player asks the team grants the player permission to seek a trade themselves. This keeps other teams from violating the tampering rules.

We went to their tailgate at the Rams opener a couple of seasons ago as well.  It would have been very fun but it was oppressively hot.

I don’t think I’d ever book one of their travel “packages” but the tailgate parties seem ok.

That's the one I was talking about. It was the season opener in '22 if I remember right. That stadium is super nice, but the ventilation is terrible. I was near the field and we were sweating bad. Can't imagine how hot it was in the higher sections.

I think you're naive if you think any any woman may not lead you on at any random time. These are professional athletes with lots of money. I think it's very safe to assume that even at work, yes, a woman can lead a guy on at work. I'm not saying it happened in this situation but for you to make a sarcastic remark like it would never ever ever ever happen is just naive.

It's grinding. My main concern would be something far worse than that. Would I want it to happen? No, but to sue him for it? Come on. It's the same if I had a wife, a girl at work put her a** into me on purpose and hit on me, would I think my wife would like it? Probably not, but I'm not suing her over it either

Did you really say, "It's grinding"? Like, what's the big deal? Holy crap, if you think that's ok, I'd hate to see your interactions with women.

And btw, people of both sexes dress in a way to attract someone. That doesn't mean they are trying to, or want to, attract everyone. It doesn't give you or anyone else permission to sexually assault them. Same if they are "leading you on." It's not a free pass to get your rocks off.

What's the going rate for babysitters for NFL players.  Maybe I'll apply.

Well technically he is a on an employer charted flight for a business trip. The company is also responsible for his actions and rightfully so. You don't think the brass was on that flight?

Most dlines rotate in the NFL. People who think the Bills are unique by rotating just don't understand how common it is. Not saying that is you, but I see a lot of people complaining about the dline rotation.

True, but with players like Watt, Bosa, Garret, etc... teams don't rotate them. Those guys are 3-4 down players and typically only come out for a breather. We don't have that guy. Even if Miller returns to form, with his age and injuries, he will be rotated like everyone else to keep him fresh into post-season.

What I’m getting from my question is you don’t really need a #1 wide receiver, just a guy that teams have to account for more and that can be relied on to make catches.  I think that guy for us is Kincaid.

I think Kincaid has the potential, just isn't quite there yet. We'll see if his growth continues into year 2.

Ravens just this last year. No one had over 900 yards receiving and only Flowers had over 600. They won 13 games. It was Lamar that strikes the fear. https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/stats/_/name/bal/baltimore-ravens

He stated no one over 1k yards and the offense producing over 5k through the air. The Ravens did not produce more than 5k through the air. Their offense was a success as more a byproduct of Lamar running along with a run-first philosophy. Lamar barely hit 4k yards passing.

  11. A better term would be #1 target. As we know, Brady had Gronk and Pat had Kelce. They aren't WR, but they give the same benefit as a #1 WR.

A true #1 target is someone another team has to scheme for. This person is open even when they are not open. Contested catches, reliable week in and week out. Routinely beats their coverage. They are going to get you 1200+ yards and ~10 TDs a year.

I sometimes think the #1WR is overblown.

What if a team rotates 5 wideouts, none of whom surpass 1,000 yards.  But when you add in the TEs and backs, the offense still gains 5,000 yards through the air.  Do the fans then think: "Well, we would have had 6,000 yards if we had a true #1!"

Is there even any examples of this actually being done?

Reminder:  the most successful team in NFL history only prioritized the WR position ONCE, and didn't win a SB when they did that.

That team also won with defense early on before rules changed. Then became a offensive powerhouse with Moss, then with Gronk, welker, etc...
