  1. Ragland will surprise some people. he's more athletic than people give him credit for. he's not an ideal fit but he's a better player than Preston Brown that's for sure

Ragland undoubtedly is the better athlete. Both will see playing time obviously. To what extent scheme will play, who knows? Football is football, you can either play or you can't. I do believe Ragland will have an easier time adjusting to a 4-3 than Brown did fitting into a 3-4. Preston is rather slow, but smart.

  2. 2015: 69 catches, 789 yards, 4 touchdowns

    2016: 67 catches, 584 yards, 8 touchdowns

Half the WRs in the NFL must be in wheelchairs.

I'd love a WR on this team that can contribute 8TD's. Boldin would be a great addition. Tough possession WR who can block and provide vet leadership. But, Buffalo may not be his first choice when teams come a knocking, and they will come soon.

OMG! People still hold him not smiling on draft day against him! He isn't a guy who smiles. And I'd be pissed too if I was in a contract playing in a terrible scheme that most of the players hated, with bad Ss making me look bad.

If Gilmore smiled and celebrated more, some fans would think he was a better player. But NE knows nothing I guess.

    ----------

He doesn't smile? Wanna bet he did after he wasn't franchised and got that contract from NE. Scheme? The scheme was dependent on him to be a shut down corner. Sure the scheme was a terrible fit but that doesn't change his assignment any. No, smiling and celebrating wouldn't have made him a better player. Sure tackling and maybe more than 2 INTs a season would have. How many Pro Bowls has this guy made? Alternate one year maybe. Believe me, I'm not shedding tears and he's not either. Sour grapes? Hurt feelings? Uh,....NO.

  4.

wow.... he really hurt your feelings didn't he? Also the whole excuse of not wanting to be here every time a good player wants to get paid his value is getting old with bills fans

He put a value on himself that Bills FO did not agree with.... he got what he wanted in free agency....that does not make him a bad player or person

    ----------

I respect your opinion so let's agree to disagree. I'm sure they're plenty here who feel as I do about Gilmore. I guess I'm just the only one willing to debate it. Once again I never said he wasn't a good player because we know he was. We saw what he could do when motivated. But what we ended up seeing was mediocrity.

    Loss. Seriously, loss.

But we didn't have the money under the cap thanks to Whaley's profligacy.

    Sour ... grapes.

Every time a guy leaves Buffalo this is the cry that goes up, he didn't want to be here. And it's true only in that we didn't give him the best offer and that's why he didn't want to be here. Through the years there really are only a couple of guys who genuinely didn't want to be here, McGahee for instance after the Applebees comment and the comments on Buffalo women. The rest would have been happy to stay with the right offer. Classic sour grapes.

They pretty much all go for the jackpot, all the NFL players. Except the guys on their third and fourth contracts who've already banked $50 mill or the guys who marry supermodels who are richer than they are.

Oh, and if Gilmore had played with no heart at all the Pats wouldn't have signed him.

    ---------------

Sour grapes? No. Did you not see his expression on draft day? Buffalo made him an instant millionaire that day but he looked like someone ran over his puppy. Did you not see all the finger pointing at other DBs when he got roasted by #2 and #3 WRs? Did you not see the patented Gilmore shoulder hit on receivers that allowed them to bounce off his rubber body for big gains after the catch because he didn't actually want to tackle? Sour grapes are reserved for players you actually want to retain by leave anyway. No one wanted 5 more years of what Gilmore was putting out with the Bills. Will he perform well in NE? I have no doubt he will because the whiner got what he wanted. Money and a chance for a ring. I said in the first line of my post he has all the tools. I want players that want to be here. Genuine players get paid, whiners and quitters get sent packing.

  6. We don't need a guy that hates to tackle. No loss with him gone

    _-----------------------

Even though he had the tools to be a top flight corner Gilmore just never embraced Buffalo. He did not want to be here and played with no heart at all. Just waited out his time for a payday. What makes me upset is when a FA goes for the jackpot he usually lands on a desperate team overpaying for players. Not only did he Rob us of quality years but now he gets rewarded with a monster contract on a monster team. Bums like him don't deserve that kind of good fortune. I've grown to dislike him very much.

  7. Who has the least amount of trips to the locker room with an injury? None of them are worth a damn if always hurt. I'd like either but I'd probably go with Decker though I like Maclin's potential in the offense especially if Sammy goes out. Decker is the ideal #2 where Maclin when healthy is a #1. Outside of his shoulder Decker is dependable. Maclin has knee issues. In McD I trust.

  8. He's a possession WR. I wonder if he's a better fit?

How much will he command in salary?

Jets are going all out for Darnold LOL. Smart move.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Does this actually make them the worst team in the NFL? They are in total purge mode, everything and everyone must go!

Browns, 49ers, Rams? Jets can easily go 2-14

  9. As opposed to Pro Bowlers Zach Brown and Lorenzo Alexander later in the process....this isn't new!! This is where the Bills excel. Landing Maclin will continue a trend.

Those players performed well for the Bills no doubt but it's not like other teams were involved in some bidding war to acquire them. You can best believe many teams will try to acquire Macklin during this time, not just Buffalo. It will be much more impressive if they snag Macklin.

  10. My only problem with crediting the staff with patience and discipline is that they moved waaaaaaay too quickly to sign fringe NFL players like Ducasse and Holmes.

I can see your point, but those are bottom tier players that are looked at as camp competition and depth, not difference makers. Macklin is the type of player if healthy with draw coverage from Sammy and open the middle for Zay and Clay.

  11. Get it done! Funny how in a matter of a week lb and wr go from a weakness to strength. Now just s safety and we're looking good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What a difference patience and discipline can make in a coaching philosophy. McD knows players will fall as the off season goes on. Chance favors the prepared mind. He will weed out the players from the pretenders. Separate those who want to be here as compared to those looking for a payday. Hodges/ Macklin/ Barnidge would be such a trifecta if he can pull it off. This approach is such a refreshing change.

  12.

    WEAKNESSES

Not a playmaker. Too tall in his backpedal. Hips are stiff and limit his reactive quickness. Short-strider unable to drive hard to the throw once it's out of quarterback's hands. Got his hands on just 3-of-48 targets in senior season. Play speed below average. Hips slow to unlock and open from press coverage, and gets way behind when beaten by early speed. Shows some confusion from zone coverage. Misses too many tackles. Missed end of senior season with a broken bone in lower right leg.

    _-----------------------

On the bright side, his list of weaknesses is impressively extensive. LOL!
