  1. Fair enough, but that's why I put 1%, It's impossible to know without letting the kids play.
  2. Wow. That's just a horrible post. Unlike you I don't fancy myself as a QB guru who can predict with 100% certainty how good a QB can be in 1 month of a preseason that evidently doesn't matter anyway. I tend to let the player show what he has on the field. Kinda like Tyrod has. But of course the 1st rounder we would take next year will be the savior without a doubt, no chance or history of a first round flop. What a joke of an argument. 😂😂😂😂
  3. What if Peterman plays, is great and the team goes 10-6, or 11-5 and makes the playoffs? I'm sure your QB evaluation skills are great but even you have to realize that you don't really know until you give it a shot. Even if it's a 1% chance he's a franchise QB, Don't you want to know for sure? Don't you already know what Tyrod is?
  4. I'll take this one... BECAUSE HE'S NOT AN IDIOT.
  5. Yes I do. The QB play of the last 2 regular seasons makes me lean toward Peterman.
  6. Yes... preseason. The time of year when every coach in the NFL makes personnel decisions. I'm not sure what point y'all are trying to make? Are you saying that it doesn't matter at all? That you can't get any idea of the caliber of the players from the game? That the coaches don't use the film from those games to help make decision? Why isn't Tyrod tearing it up if it is just preseason? I don't get the argument.
  7. If you don't think there is some serious conversations going on with the QB decision then I think you are kidding yourself. Tyrod was inexplicably bad in those first 2 series last night and he was terrible in the Philly game. Peterman was surprisingly poised and impressive when he came in on a moment's notice last night and he was better in the Philly game. So you can have the opinion that Peterman is not the best QB, but you can't fault someone who thinks the opposite. Besides that, you don't always play the best player, brah. They have 6 picks and a first year QB showing some promise. They need to see what they got.
  8. I'm not really biased toward Peterman. In fact I think Buffalo would probably win a game or 2 more with Tyrod. I just think there are throws Peterman can make that Tyrod can't because of physical tools Tyrod doesn't have as well as mental tools. From what I have seen in 6 preseason quarters from Peterman I think the prudent thing for the coaching staff to do is to give Peterman an opportunity to see what they have. He's played good enough to peak everyone's interest IMO. I can't think of one reason not to play the kid.
  9. Not nearly as impressive IMO.
  10. Tyrod can't make this throw... Ever. Check out @jonathan_koziol's Tweet: https://twitter.com/jonathan_koziol/status/901589059843260416?s=09
  11. But Marcell has a track record of breaking rules, smoking weed and general immature behavior. That is undeniable. I simply don't understand how you or any fan can question a decision to bench Dareus for ANY rules violation regardless of the severity. What you are learning of coach McD is that he means what he says and most people in well run organizations, at least the good ones, appreciate holding all peers accountable for their actions and expect it. I am sure McD was very clear of his expectations and I also am sure he is quite fair about it. He has shown nothing to think otherwise. I am confident Marcell deserved the punishment.
  12. This made me chuckle....
  13. Sammy is not mean enough or smart enough to make back handed digs at former players.
  14. Shady ain't never gonna love Buffalo like he does Philly and I have no problem with that cause the man is gonna play hard. Now if we win the Superbowl.... maybe that would change.
  15. I'm really not emotional about it at all. I'm simply debating whether the coaching will be better or worse in 2017 and I guess as far as gameday coaching you are correct that we won't know for sure until McD actually coaches this year. And I will also agree that he will go through a learning curve since this is his rookie head coaching year. I would hope you would agree that after looking at the overall philosophy and current coaching staff is better than what we had with Rex. I tend to agree with this. I think though that the decrease in offense won't be substantial and is worth it due to the draft picks gained.
  16. Naw... you need talent, it just depends on the type of talent a coach wants. Are you the guy that likes the fragile, always hurt with "bruises" and "pain", out for themselves, can't get on the field type of player with unrealized talent? Kinda like Watkins and Goodwin? Or do you like the guy that plays through injury and pain, thinks about the the team and out produces his talent? Like Jordan Matthews? McD like the later and yes he believes it improves the "team", it is his philosophy. Are you arguing against this philosophy after the last 3 years of going after the "I'm the most talented, fastest player give me my money" guy (Whaley philosophy) but won't go to a team meeting? It had us in a perpetual 7-9, 8-8 record with no end in sight. I would love to get K Williams take on some of your talent guys McD got off the team.
  17. Nice of you to bring Beane into the equation, but unfortunately he is not a coach so when making and argument about coaching it would be smart not to bring him into the conversation.(Although if you would like to have a GM argument about Beane VS. Whaley I will have that as well.) It's also nice for you to bring Tyrod into the conversation since the problems you state he has are problems stemming from the coaching he has received the last 2 years who you are defending. I appreciate you helping my argument with that. Although it is true I whole heartily believe McD is a significantly better head coach based on the last 6 months of listening to his philosphies vs. your boy Sexy Rexy, when I speak of coaching I am talking about the entire staff which is filled with some superbowl winners a ton experience and a former head coach. McD has assembled an experienced collection of coaches respected around the league and not a collection of misfits who has either followed Rex around the league for 10 years with mediocre to poor records, recently retired with no coaching experience or was family who was dismal at his job the last few years. In fact one of the only coaches worth his salt last year was fired by Rex when he disagreed with him. You may think the team will be worse and that is fine and you have stated a few reasons why, but your argument that they will be worse because the coaching is worse is terrible. This years coaching is better.
  18. From my perspective last year was the worst head coaching job in the history of the NFL. He hired Rob effing Ryan which emasculated his DC, fired Greg Roman in week three, lost the team in week 10 and lost his job in week 17. I don't have to be a homer to think the coaching will be better after what I've seen and heard from McD, Frazier, and Dennison, not to mention their pedigree. In fact it proves your negativity to suggest otherwise. The rest of your post is meh based on your "would haves, could haves", your "ifs", your "don't knows" and your perceived "chemistry" problems with the QB.
  19. This needs to be posted in like 15 threads.
  20. I agree with this and I do believe after the first month of training camp and a couple preseason games they are leaning more towards the future based on what they have seen. I also think they have the nuts to shift gears again if TT or Peterman show promise and the win/loss record is better than most predict. But there will be some angst if they are like 1-5 and they go into full tank mode which is a definite possiblility. I can not understand why you refuse to put Jordan Matthew in the discussion. He is a member of the Buffalo Bills. When you decide to put him in the discussion, I will agree you can argue last year is better, but a "clear downgrade"? I do not believe that in any way.
  21. I am in no way saying that it is not going to be a bad year ahead and all of your points are either valid for every team in the NFL or is a prediction of what may happen and not based on actual events. But based on many comments on this board people believe the Bills are in tank mode based on the the moves made by Beane and McD. IMO this is a false narrative as the team talent seems equitable and they are gaining draft picks. We were talking about the talent of the WR position. You are talking about coaching which bandit responded: Coaching better. That remains to be seen. I can agree with that.
  22. How can you possibly think this is "clearly worse" than anything?: 2016 Bills Receiving Receiving PLAYER REC YDS YDS/REC LONG TD Charles Clay 57 552 9.7 40 4 Robert Woods 51 613 12 34 1 LeSean McCoy 50 356 7.1 41 1 Marquise Goodwin 29 431 14.9 84 3 Sammy Watkins 28 430 15.4 62 2 Walt Powell 14 142 10.1 35 0 Justin Hunter 10 189 18.9 64 4 Nick O'Leary 9 114 12.7 28 0 Mike Gillislee 9 50 5.6 18 1
  23. I wonder why half the board is screaming tank when it seems like the talent is within the realm of last year and we have gained so many draft picks? I guess the unproven potential of Sammy Watkins has those folks blinded.
  24. CB could be but vast safety improvement will make up for it and back end will be better overall IMO. I will take Dennison over A Lynn as OC in the long run. Glenn has to be healthy, but if he is, the addition of Dawkins will make it equal I think. Well if Zach Brown, whom I assume you are referring to, is your star game changing LB and you think Robert Woods is better than Jordan Matthews (which of course you didnt mention)than I guess you are right it's not close. Sammy will always be a wildcard cause of injury. Also, i will take my chances with a back end with real safeties and without two man to man corners that got burned 2 times a game. One which got benched by the end of the year.
  25. Someone please enlighten me on where they think the talent from last year's team is better than this year's. Other than WR, if Sammy was healthy last year, it's hard to argue a position group this year isn't as good or better than last and we have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds next year. QB's much better due to backups RB/FB equal. Could potentially argue Mike G and Felton are better than Williams/Tolbert I guess. OL equal TE equal WR worse if Sammy healthy, but Zay may be great DL better LB better Safety better and not even close. CB equal, but I am not a big Gilmore fan. Coaching better. Can anyone argue a position group is better this year?
