Watching the Eagles-Packers game now and Matthews had a couple very nice catches and YAC. The guy makes a nice big target.
-
He was waived for a reason. We just got rid of a guy who couldn't kick PATs and we don't kneed someone who is worse.

Yes. We traded explosiveness and scheme misfit for reliability and scheme fit. At the very least it is a neutral trade, but I believe it works in our favor.

I read some quotes from Matthews' teammates and they are very sad to see him go. Very good player and great in locker room.

I think the goal is clearly to stay competitive WHILE rebuilding the team Beane and McD want to field. They may have lost a dynamic player in Watkins, but they also made sure to fill holes with capable starting talent & invest in the future. All this tank talk is premature.
This front office isn't following the traditional "tank and reload" model. If they deal McCoy then the conversation can shift. But until then, I still think there is enough starting talent on this team, that if McD, Frazier and Dennison coach the way I believe they can, AND the team stays healthier than most others, they could still compete for a WC spot.
Honestly, this is how I see it as well. I am betting there will be others who disagree.

I just don't buy it. What we lose in explosiveness, we gain in reliability. I think that is much more important to Tyrod for an entire season. If healthy, Gaines seems a better fit for our new defense than Darby.
It is a no-brainer if we consider the options it gives us for next year's draft.
This season just got very interesting, regardless.

This is just nuts.

Seems like a solid thread to me. Thanks, Maj.

I like his competitive spirit but he needs to learn to slide or he is going to be headless.
-
He looks like a player who is just finding his game legs. I think he is going to be a good one.
I recall Shaq being sluggish when he came back last year as well.

I watched Williams every play on the replay and didn't see anything of concern.
Just watching the trainers evaluating Sankey. Way too much movement in the knee...does not look good at all.☹️

UMMM. Where is the discipline? The penalties are a bit much, guys.
-
Williams running hard. Nice.

Any doubt about Tyrod put someone else in.
Agreed.

Good special teams so far.

Penalty then sack. I have heard that before.

Who is this Sammy guy I am gearing about on the radio????
-
Hearing Marcell's name on the radio. Nice.
And Yarbrough comes thru!

Ready here in Fla!
-
Boldin talking about everything I've been yapping about regarding taking Sammy's game to the next level.........music to my ears.
We won't be seeing him tonight. Guess that makes sense.

TT, Jones, Boldin and White.
And the offense and defense.
Greatest WR you've seen in your lifetime

I suspect that a lot here weren't around when Joe was throwing to Jerry. Rice was the best who ever played, without a doubt. Despite lacking top end speed, he torched DBs every single Sunday and his work ethic was legendary.
I mean no disrespect to Moss who is a solid #2.
