Yup. It's obvious they came in with a clear game plan to not let us beat them deep
But you take it repeatedly so other teams get the message. Draw and go under it repeatedly.

Tennessee is devoting all their defense deep. This is going to be a test of patience for Josh.

That's just Vrabel trying to get in our heads

Interesting that it's entirely RPO for Buffalo's offense there and they're letting Josh decide pass or run.

I think the Refs just helped Seattle and screwed Pittsburgh
I think that was about as close to correct as the refs can get it but replay buzzing in there is going to turn it into a ***** show regardless.

Seattle should have one Second here.

They were hosed that was an obvious Facemask and the Pats had a TD taken away that would have mad it 21-7 if not for a rather bad call for holding. (And I swear they could have called Dallas on almost every pass play for hands to the face on the guy blocking Judon. Lol). Also I saw that third down play, I thought he was in but there was not one replay showed it breaking the plain. (He then fumbled on fourth down to blow it) This why it wasn’t challenged.
Maybe about Borne but everyone seems think of the two signings he was the one with the best potential be a solid 2. (That’s the talking heads saying it) I like Meyers he reminds me a lot of Edelman, as in he catches anything thrown to him.
As for Jones, I’ve heard “he has a weak arm” well he delivered like 4 huge long plays today. One a 45 yard bomb on target and in stride to Bourne. As for upside, I think that’s year 2 you see that. I think he was the best fit for the Pats outside of Lawrence. (I can see the other 3 being duds)
The Pats are being coached well and are closer to being good than not, but it will take some Jones development to make that happen as they don't score enough points right now. 3 of their 4 losses are one possession and he figured out Brady to the point where New England wins that game if they make a kick. The development of Jones is mirroring the development of Brady, where they're asking him to take what's there and he's been ok at it. Obviously you'd like to see less interceptions.

Diggs got beat on the double move, but lousy safety play on that TD though. He should be making the tackle instead of gambling for a pick.

The Browns also have another game Thursday too.

Browns strengths are oline and running backs. Down their 3 best offensive tackles and now their 2 backs.... I mean if they are missing major time that is it Cleveland are done.
Basically this. Cleveland is missing a bunch of players here and have been down Landry for a quite a bit.

Lousy day for the Chargers here. They're going for it there because they're out of this game anyway.

Addressing some of the last several posts.
1. the O line has been pretty good...especially the interior 3. Niang has had some growing pains...but overall, has been decent. Orlando Brown has been OK, but he isn't elite. There are cap reasons why Eric Fisher isn't a Chief now...but when healthy, he's a better player than Brown. Brown hasn't been awful, he's just not great. Overall, this line is better now, than what KC ran out last year. Of the troubles KC has had, the line really hasn't been one.
2. It's been mentioned one way or another that Clyde Edwards Helaire has been a bad draft choice. I AGREE!. You don't take RB that high....unless he's the next Barry Sanders...and there hasn't been one of those since....Barry Sanders. When KC drafted CEH...the talk was that he would contribute in the passing game....that you could split him out wide and so on. HE SUCKS in the passing game. They don't trust him or use him...he's also a bad pass blocker. As a runner, I don't think I've ever seen a RB with worse field vision. He doens't understand how to play off his blockers...and if the line does a good job and makes a 7 yard hole...CEH gets exactly 7 yards out of it. He doesn't make anyone miss and he doesn't break tackles. He's awful in the screen game as well. Has ZERO concept of following blockers...just catches the ball and takes off, rendering the blockers useless. CEH leaves a TON of yards on the field. Horrible draft choice, in an era where RB's are a dime a dozen...waste of a high value pick.
3. KC has gone with a "stars and jags" approach. I don't have a problem with that if done right. KC hasn't quite done it right. KC has tried to keep everyone. That's tough to do, and when you dole out big contracts to your guys, you need two things to happen more often than not...A) you need your big money guys to live up to their contracts. And B) you need your jags to outplay their cheap contracts. In KCs case, too much of the big money on D hasn't come through. Frank Clarks contract is bad. Chris Jones contract is ok, but he needs to be playing as an inside pass rusher...that's where he's elite...not at END where he is MEH and a waste of money and talent. Anthony Hitchens contract is AWFUL and so poorly written that they've had to live with him at MLB for years and can finally escape this upcoming offseason.
the other half of this is that KC simply hasn't drafted well enough to sustain this at present. KC has spent too many 2nd-4th round picks on guys who can't get on the field. That's a HUGE problem if you ***** Stars and Jags....you can't keep missing on draft picks (especially 2nd and 3rds) who don't contribute with cheap contracts and above average production. KC simply hasn't gotten enough out of drafts recently to make this work.
4. KC coaches have got to admit that the leauge is agressively working to take Hill and Kelce out of games and are playing 2 deep to limit big plays. There is a certain amount of ego and arrogance involved here where KC thinks it can dictate the play on O and call and do what they want when they want. Not now. KC needs to run teams out of their light box looks instead of calling pass plays that are covered by what teams are doing. Run until they get out of the two deep. Run short slants etc utnil they get out of the two deep. KC refuses....still running alot plays with deep routes even when the box is light.
5. Specific to this defense , this year...KC hasn't blitzed much....the D is getting burnt up. Sorenson, Hitchens, and Ben Nieman are SLOW and not good at much. Might as well blitz and at least get guys who can run on the field. Blitzing will get them burnt too, but if they cause a TO or incompletion sometimes...it would be better than what's they've been doing.
All ths said....KC is still something like 3rd on O and still have Mahomes, Kelce and Hill. This is going to be one of those years where we just need to get to the playoffs and hopefully get hot at the right time. The AFC isnt going through KC this year for sure.
Let's be honest: reports of the Chiefs' demise have probably been greatly exaggerated. The game against Buffalo is the only game where they got outplayed by any significant margin and have played tough competition.
For all the talk, the offensive issues will straighten themselves out. Kansas City is first in every drive efficiency category and are 5th in points on the least amount of drives in the league. They also lead the league in lost fumbles, which is widely considered a random stat and have a 1-2 record in one possession games.
Real issues on the offense are that Mahomes interception rate is too high and I do think they need to run more because they are good at it this season and defenses will give it. It's something that Buffalo is doing to the dismay of some people here, but it's worked out for us so far.
The defense is a major issue, though. KC just bleeds points on the defensive side of the ball and their defense isn't getting turnovers right now. I could be a product of the excellent offenses they've played, and you'll find out the next few weeks here. Their backs seem a step slower than last year, and Jones and Clark have taken turns being out. I don't think it's going to continue to be one of the worst in history, but they do need a change in approach.

Always whole wheat, always smooth peanut butter (Skippy), and the type of Jelly almost makes almost no difference (unless it's like pepper jelly or something not sweet). If it's at home I'll toast the bread.
Ratio depends on what it's for. Lunch for work is like 30% jelly.
In the middle of a 100 mile bike ride day, the main component is the carbs so I'll go 50% or even 60% Jelly there.

I mean..... I did say all this at the time. The refs were not nearly as bad as Bills fans think. Both RTP calls were rulebook fouls and the one egregious penalty that Bills fans were legitimately annoyed by was the DPI on Tre on an uncatchable ball.
He says pretty early on "let's at least be objective about it" I mean good luck. I have been trying to get Bills fans to be objective about penalties for almost a decade on this board. No luck yet.
For me it was more about what wasn't called. The RTPs only go to show how stupid the rules are and frankly, I don't think either of those hits should be penalties. The one Poyer got probably should he, but he also make that hit every time.
I didn't like the inconsistency of the defensive holding calls. The Chiefs got a couple on the first drive that Buffalo didn't get, but it got better once that stopped. We've seen Buffalo incorporate more physical DB play this year on receivers because they saw in the title game that it wasn't going to be called so much and as the reputation changes it'll be called less.

I think the bills offense as a whole is a situation where the statistics tell you the truth about how good it is in your eyes lie because it doesn't quite look the same as it did last year in terms of the passing game. Essentially, Buffalo is taking a more balanced approach and throwing almost 10% less than they did last year so far. The results is that the running game is way way more effective than it was last season. So far Buffalo has a second best score percentage in the league on all of its drives I'm a very high number of drives they have and different players are emerging because they are showing a willingness to use different personnel groupings in addition to the three receiver formula that dominated last year. Just like the defense, the offense is truly becoming more game to game and situation to situation dependent. It's part of the reason why we are beginning to hear stories about Friday and Saturday installs and new plays all the time.
If you look at the entire game. Buffalo had 10 drives, scored on six of them and five of the six scores were touchdowns. That is best offense in the NFL drive efficiency and we can add to it that Buffalo did not have a turnover.
What I saw is that both teams really had trouble adjusting to the third quarter rainstorm after halftime. It manifested itself in some punting from Buffalo because they played to protect the ball and the Chiefs blitzed more because they knew Buffalo was going to, but the same rainstorm manifested itself in two ridiculous turnovers for Kansas City. Buffalo got a pick 6 on a ball that slipped out of hills hands and recovered a snap that slipped out of mahomes hands. The teams each got a touchdown once they both adjusted to it, and once Buffalo got the fourth quarter drive the game was over.

He's looking for a trade because he wants carries and there aren't any for him here.
-
Teams will play physical and make this a flagfest, but both offenses are a little sloppy as well.
-
That's a lousy DPI call, yeah.

That end around is too fancy. Just let Herbert slice it up.

I think he could be a Matt Ryan type but doesn't do anything particularly special. He is a lot better than Cam though.
Definitely looks better than the other rookies here. I don't know what the physical talent is, but he can definitely read the field and the arm is good. He's not super athletic and the pocket awareness isn't there yet but if you look like a game manager as a rookie, that's impressive IMO.
It looks like the way BB developed Brady. The defense is good and they're simplifying it for Jones.

So if the punt returner let the ball
roll inside the five, could he hypothetically just smack the ball out of the end zone for a touchback, and much better field position ?
Yes, but the danger of course is that the other team can recover a muff, which is why you don't see it often.

I think it’s because it’s not called out of bounds when it hits the pylon. I think…
Yeah even on a muff you can get a touchback.
I think that's incomplete and not a fumble but it's so close.

Have to be careful with those pushes on the RPOs and watch them against the blitzes.
