  1. I wish teams could put any rd tender on their players.

Pats got a great deal for Gillislee for a 5th.

Bills probably couldn't have got a 3rd, but a 4th and a late 4th probably would be good for both teams.

Three 5th round picks, plus a possible trade down may give us ammo to get additional picks in the 3rd....

Imagine a late 1st, two second rd picks and three 3rd round picks. It's possible.... we may not have those three 5ths when it's said and done but we may be able to deal for 5 or 6 picks in first 3 rounds

  2. it really feels like that to me. People are just so angry and bracing themselves for being inevitably disappointed. It's like that every year to some degree but this year just seems more bitter.

Honestly I'd feel that way if we were inside the top 10....

I'm not a big fan of Myles Garrett, Hooker has limited starts which required surgery, I don't feel we need a QB, Jonathan Allen may have future issues, we don't need a RB, there are really no LBers worthy of a top 5-6 pick, TEs that early?

But sitting at 10 I feel it has a ton value in this draft.... I feel this draft is full of 10-20 talent, therefore I will be happy with just about anyone from 10-25. I hope we can trade down that being said. More value at WR, LBer, OT, maybe CB/S (but I feel the 2nd rd will hold that value).

I love Reddick, Davis top 15. I like both OTs Cam Robinson and Bolles (15-20), Jabrill Peppers has to be a thought around 20 for McD's D, my Sleeper is Tim Williams (20-25).

  3.

Ya know, I applaud you, I was waiting for someone else to come out with this, as I, and now apparently YOU seem to be in the vast minority. I don't think he's big enough as a DE in the NFL, and I never saw the motor that all these experts claim to have seen? He COULD well end up being another Miller (Very doubtful) but he could also be another Dion Jordan type guy that benefited from great defensive schemes. When I looked at the tape, and I did a lot, his sacks were roughly 70% coverage sacks, which in and of itself isn't a bad thing, but does it translate well to the NFL when you only have at best, 3 seconds to get to the QB? I don't think so, and I think he struggles in his rookie year. If I were the Browns I'd trade back,

    Tim-

I just watch his 40 yard dash... he has very funny posture and it doesn't look natural. I have never seen quick feet, his feet look very heavy.

I would say for him to be successful he needs a great Bullrush and Club move cause I don't see him beating anyone with his "explosiveness" off the ball, cause I don't see it. I think Thomas looks more explosive.

But let's wait and see. He just looks clunky to me...

  4. The Cleveland deal is a 100 pt difference.

The Tampa deal is a 325 pt difference. That being said, Tampa's 2nd rd pick is worth 400 pts, gotta make up 75 pts, (which is a early to mid 4th rd pick we don't have). So that's where the swap of 3rd's and our 5th come into play

That equal pts down the line... but depending on how bad they want their guy they may not ask for a 5th, that could just be a bargaining chip. Offer them 10 and swap 3rd's, if they don't go for it, throw in the 5th. But I was just showing equal value for picks.

  5. Making a bad decision more than likely under the influence while at a college party doesn't make someone character flawed.

For example I have been involved in incidents like that in the past once or twice. I knew better but sometimes bad judgement gets the best of us. Does that mean you have bad character, or you don't get it? No. We all know that person that just doesn't get it, who surrounds himself with others that "just don't get it". point is some of this players are punks and immature, have no desire , work ethic, are bad teammates and don't get it.

The article says nothing about the person other than he made a bad decision. But for the most part. I have heard nothing but positive things about Reddick.

  6. It's not that bad... drop 2 spots gain 2 extra players and more than likely still get the guy you want.

In order to drop 2 spots and gain a 2nd we would have to probably give Cleveland our 3rd this year and next years 3rd, plus a 5th this year. Just guessing though.

  7. Trade Down Scenarios....

    W/ Cleveland -

Cleveland get 10th pick rd 1

    Bills get 12th pick rd 1, 108th pick rd 4, 175th pick rd 6.

    Or

    W/ Tampa Bay

    Tampa gets 10th rd 1, 75th pick rd 3, 156th pick rd 5.

    Buffalo get 19th pick rd 1, 50th pick rd 2, 84th pick rd 3.

(It's basically swap 1st's, swap 3rd's and Buffalo gets Tampas 2nd). Both trades meet the point differences of the draft pick value chart. Also they are 2 teams that might trade up. Cleveland for a QB and Tampa for Cook.

  8. I like what you're saying in theory, but it's not always so simple.

The greatest quarterback in Bills history was Jim Kelly. At the time he was drafted, he was an arrogant prick who thought he was too good for Buffalo.

Conversely, EJ Manuel was said to have all the off-field things you could want in a quarterback. Great leader, great studier, hard worker, "presence", commands a room, etc, etc..He led the Bills to exactly zero playoff appearances.

Setting aside the Bills, you have cases like Brett Favre (addicted to painkillers, partier, didn't take game seriously) or Chris Carter (drug addiction, bad attitude, self destructive behavior) who went on to be Hall of Famers and guys who were totally clean off the field (Christian Ponder, Aaron Maybin) who wound up being total busts.

Character is important. So is talent. So are measurables. It's not so simple.

Just saying so many folks love Rueben Foster... following the combine incident plus reading the type of company he carries plus his BS attitude, I don't want the guy. I think it is simple.

Same reason before ever playing a snap in the league I take A Derek Carr ( 2nd rd pick) over a Cam Newton (1st overall) all day long.

    But that's me...

  9. We always tend to look at numbers, size, speed vertical jump, etc...

But I'm a true believer in drafting the person first. Yes numbers are important but in the NFL they mean nothing if you're not the whole package.

Not saying this is my pick @ 10, because I'm leaning towards Haason Reddick with a trade down or even this guy as well. I feel Haason is a high Character player as well.

These are the type of guys I want.
