Catch radius is the most overrated physical ability in my opinion. I think Allen needs separators more then high pointers.
Catch radius has a lot to do with.. catches with their hands, can go up and catch, can reach back and catch, go down and grab a ball.
Im not saying Isabella is terrible I think he can catch the ball, but he’s the shortest of those 5 I mentioned and I think has the smallest hands.
Id take Isabella in a heartbeat but there are a few guys in the 2nd round I’d grab above him. I think route running, body control, hands etc are all more important than catch radius, but the ability to ssnatch a ball consistently no matter where it’s thrown is important and some guys are naturally better at that than some, some guys can’t do it at all or it is a weakness. It’s evaluated trust me

The only reason I think he can be there in late 2 is because of his size he's not the prototypical wr most teams look for high in the draft . Plus he played at a small school.
Dude put up over 200 yds against Georgia this year. He can play.
Thing is Allen is not the most precise passer and his catch radius kind of requires that. AJ Brown is the ideal guy. Big, strong, good hands, good route runner, combine showed he’s faster and quicker than video shows. He will go between 30-40.
I think these guys fit our scheme and they plus inside and outside
AJ Brown
Deebo Samuels
Riley Ridley
Andy Isabella/Parris Campbell
Thrown in Harry, Butler and Harmon those are your WRs that go between 30 - 65.

I would be flexible to using 40 on something else like an Olineman or a DT like Simmons or Lawrence . But the main 2 guys for me it's Hock and Isabella. Foster, Duke & Zay will fight it out for the other outside spot in the future.
For sure...
i liked seeing AJ at the combine. He was quicker and faster than most expected him to be. Doubt he’s there at 40.
I was at the senior bowl and saw Isabella and Samuels close up. Both have big legs, strong lower bodies. Samuels was a little bigger. Has bigger hands, is fast toasted Rock Ya Sin a few times who was the senior bowls top CB. Samuels is about 15-20 lbs heavier than Isabella. That’s why I lean towards Deebo. I’d be fine with either. If we could move back up between 50-65 and land any of these guys I’d be stoked.
Ive been saying all along I think 5 of the first 10 picks in round 2 will be WRs

I’m 100% for TE WR rd 1&2
I like
1. TJ Hockenson
2. AJ Brown/Deebo Samuels/Riley Ridley/Parris Campbell.... in that order. Isabella is definitely a possibility at 40 but I like your idea of moving back up in the 2nd and using 40 maybe on best Defense available

Why are we do ready to get rid of McKenzie......thought he did pretty well for us when we brought him in last year
Well McD likes to keep a return man. McKenzie can be that guy. I like McKenzie but I think Higgins would be a slight upgrade.
-
I’ve been saying Higgins should be looked at for sometime now.
He’s Solid. Question is can he play ST?
For 5th it’s definitely worth looking into. But watch, he will stay with Cleveland under 2nd year Mayfield and have his best season to date. He’s a solid slot player
Id be comfortable with him
Zay Jones
Robert Foster
Rashard Higgins
Deebo Samuels (2nd round)
Duke Williams
TJ Hockenson (1st Round)
Dwayne Allen
Jason Croom
Solid WR/TE group
Gotta get those FA OL though. After round 2 go all Defense
-
I have 4 guys the Bills should target round 2.
Deebo Samuels
AJ Brown
Riley Ridley
Parris Campbell
-
Potential to play across from TWhite, or be solid depth behind Wallace. I like he’s in here....

somehow hope we get him
Winovich had an amazing combine. He helped himself out greatly. Secured himself a spot in the top 75. In thinking mid-late second round. Early 3rd at latest.

Which is why I compared him to Lawson who went around pick 20 despite a freakish combine instead of Clowney.
Yes Clowney and Miles Garrett, Bosa That’s why those guys were top picks. Lower body strength and the ability to maintain the edge and hold off OTs. I just see Sweat being a 15-20 guy. There’s better talent that will be there at 9.

I think Burns has been the most impressive DL at this thing and yes that includes Sweat. You can just see his natural athleticism. He is now up to 249 and it hasn't affected him at all. He also has elite college tape unlike Sweat. I would consider him at 9 as well. I want elite traits and elite tape.
I agree. He’s gotta more twitch than Sweat. Shows more athleticism. I’d like to see him between 255-260.
i want to see his 3 cone vs Sweats.... broad jump as well. I don’t put that much into the combine. Just curious.
If I had to guess I’d say, 3 cone Burns 7.0 - 7.10. Sweat 7.10- 7.20
Broad Jump Burns 120”+, Sweat 105-115.

He’s having a Manny Lawson combine. I could see them grabbing him as a replacement for Alexander.
At 9 would be crazy. Sweat can play but he’s not the guy everyone thinks he is. I went to the Senior Bowl and watched him first hand. He’s fast off the edge yes, but his lower body lacks the strength, he’s all upper body. He’s got long arms but so does every NFL Tackle. Risner battled him and got the best of him 9 out of 10 times.
Yes his 40 time is impressive, yes he’s fast. But I think he’ll be a liability in the run game and is only a 1 trick pony with a speed rush.

I’m hopeful that one of the big 3 (Hock, Fant, Smith Jr) will fall to the 2nd round...I think it would be rare for all 3 to go in the first round, but you never know.
Smith Jr will probably make it to the third round. Don’t be surprised if he’s not taken till the mid 4th. Teams aren’t looking for a one dimensional 6’2” TE.
Sternberger is really the only TE after Fant or Hockenson I see worthy of a pick between 60-90

I’m hoping for a RT in FA...I want either Lindstrom or Risner in a trade down in the 1st round...then TE and WR in the 2nd...
What TE are you thinking in round 2? After Hockenson and Fant I don’t see value at TE in round 2.

Ok, so as opposed as I have been to the thought of drafting a TE at #9, I have to admit that todays performance with the videos I have seen of Hockenson have me a bit intrigued. If we get the OL fixed in FA, and I mean really fixed with proven quality starters at positions of need, then I would be good with Hockenson in the 1st and Boykin in the 2nd.
There’s a chance Hockenson goes 7 or 8.
Boykin just doesn’t fit this scheme, neither does Harry or Butler.
Im thinking AJ Brown, Parris Campbell, Riley Ridley, Deebo Samuels. All those WRs are multi role guys. Slot, split out, great route runners, great hands, shifty and tough to bring down.
Right now I’m....
9. Hockenson
40. AJ Brown

Isn't he signed for $20 million next season?
Yes. Miami releases Tannehill and Devonte Parker and save over $23M... basically let 2 guys govthat never play for Carr

Why are the raiders trading up to 9 again? They have more holes to fill then the Bills do..
Got Metcalf.... they take Haskins at #4 and grab Metcalf at #9. Trade Carr to Miami for #12 pick a select Jawaan Taylor

I love hockenson. He’s not an Uber athletic tight end like Kelce. But he’s fluid, athletic and great hands who can block. Reminds me a ton of Heath Miller and for me, totally worth the 9th pick.
Great Hands, good route runner, great blocker, physical etc
His 3 cone was quicker than 95% of the RBs. It was fast than Deebo Samuels and Andy Isabella.
But for some reason I just feel he’ll have the work ethic, drive and heart as well.
Im all about Hockenson at 9. He improves our run game and passing game.
-
I think the Bills have a spot now at #9 to trade with Oakland for #24 & #27.
Metcalf great, got it.... dude has a neck injury. Never really show cased his full potential cause he wasn’t on the field. A career 67 catches or something like that and he’s worth the#9 pick? I’m not buying it. He hasn’t proved to be equal Julio Jones.
Trade back, grab 24 Fant, 27 Risner and 40 Deebo Samuels.

Waiting for Deebo and Ridley from the next group.
I think if Bills go WR round 2 we are looking at AJ Brown, Riley Ridley, Parris Campbell or Deebo Samuels.
Id almost guess 4-5 of the first 10 picks in round 2 will be a WR.
-
AJ Brown looks solid... the knock on him was speed. He ran a 4.49. I think he helped solidify himself in the early 2nd.
Watching Hakeem Butler this kid is not a very good route runner. Even in shorts he didn’t look smooth at all.
Even NKeal looked slow in and out of cuts.
I was impressed with with Parris Campbell and AJ Brown from the first group.
Hockenson ran a 7.02 3 Cone. That’s better than like 95% of the RBs. Fant was a 6.81 which is a 3 Cone for a CB. I still think hands and blocking gives the edge to Hockenson.

Potential WRs at pick 40...
Hakeem Butler (he should go earlier 25-35)
Kelvin Harmon (30-40)
NKeal Harry (30-40)
Riley Ridley (35-50)
AJ Brown (35-50)
Deebo Samuels (40-60)

I would have been pissed if the Bills gave a 31 yr old WR a $54M contract with $30M guaranteed. Not to mention giving up a 3rd and 5th round pick. All that for a guy who would have just complained.
