Listen up, Wise Guy.  The last time you got banned, it had nothing to do with me, everything to do with the way you were behaving, and involved another mod.

The previous time I gave you a seat on the bench, it was for being asked to cite a source and responding that you could post whatever you want, not because I was wrong.

It's straight out of the Board Guidelines: " If you post breaking news - reference your sources! " but this is how you responded when asked politely to do so:

I can post whatever I want. Just because you don't like what I post doesn't mean I can't post it. If you want the source search for it. It's not hard to find.
    ____________________________________________________________________
Yep, that's right, you didn't post a source, you didn't say "I do have a source, but I can't give it", you had a little toddler tantrum "I can post whatever I want!"  I was surprised you didn't add on "You're not the Boss of me!"

This is the second time you have misrepresented the reason you were banned to malign me. Straighten up, because it's gotten past tiresome.
Read your damn warnings again before you spout off wrong gouge about them, or just take them to heart.

I am putting this in public here because, as I've said, this public maligning on this theme has gone past being tiresome.  What happens next is entirely in your court.

As to your claim, explaining exactly what I'm doing and why seems a lot different from "inventing my own stat" or cherry picking - but if you want to include all Allen's starts - 11 starts last year - he rushed 89 times, which happens to average 8 rushes per game - EXACTLY THE SAME number of rushes per game.  Wow, exactly the same number of rushes per game he's averaging this year.

So what it looks like from here is you're making claims you can't back from any source about Allen rushing more this year, then turning to rudeness about "cherry picking" and "inventing" with the "ooooh, can't argue with the mean mod" card when you're called on it.

And you banned me before I could post the links I had for breaking news because you were wrong and didn't want to admit it. Luckily though someone posted a link just after I was banned.

It's all over the Steelers media. It's all over Pittsburgh. But feel free to ban people because you disagree with the facts.

Objectively, this isn't true.  He's running about the same amount.

Let's look at after his return from injury last season, which most people seem to herald as a milestone in JA's development as a passing QB.

In 6 games, he rushed 13, 9, 9, 9, 5, and 9 times.  That's an average of 9 rushes per game and 79 ypg (but in 3 of the last 4 games, significantly less as teams started spying him)

This season so far, he's rushed 10, 7, 9, 5, and 10 times, for an average of 8 rushes per game and 32 ypg.

IMO, Josh doesn't have instant "fast twitch" acceleration so he gets faster when he breaks a long run, which he has yet to do this season.  I think there are two reasons for this:

    1) Josh correctly "got the memo" that his job as the QB is to throw the football, not to lead the team in rushing yards

Last year after injury, average 30 passing attempts for 207 ypg, 51.9% completion (that's 16 completions per game)

This year so far, average 33 passing attempts for 224 ypg, 62.6% completion (that's 20 completions per game)

So 4 more completions for an extra 17 yds per game.  That's good.  That's what he's supposed to do, and it will hopefully continue to improve.

    2) As part of that memo, Josh now rushes to extend the play and look for a pass, instead of taking off downfield (sometimes this is NOT good, but I think he'll learn)

    3) There were times last year when Josh had a short pass or dump off, and he'd tuck it and take off (I think because he didn't trust himself to complete those passes).  Now he steps up in the pocket and throws 'em more often than not.  This is Huge for his development as a QB - "gotta hit the bunnies"

    4) Teams have the memo that they better play Allen as a running QB 'cuz he does have wheels

I'm not going to argue this with you because last time I argued with you I got banned because you were wrong. I'll just say if you want to invent your own stat, fine. Cherry picking numbers don't make it correct.

  3. I don't understand why it's so hard to understand teams are playing him as a running QB. He's still running. He's actually running more than last year. He's not getting the big run because teams are spying him and trying to stop him from having big runs. They aren't turning their backs to him as much. They're mush rushing him and keeping him in front of them.

    No way

Lee Smith or Tommy Sweeney all day

I doubt anyone thinks they'll be any good so it can't be either of those two by definition. Bills fans have already started on Edmunds but his last two weeks has back them off some. I'd say he's the biggest target on the roster. "He's not a MLB. He can't attack the hole. He gets blocked by the OL. Is he really good in coverage? draft this guy to play MLB and move Edmunds to OLB." Those things have already been said about him and I bet you could find threads with similar saying about Edmunds now.

In one way he reminds me of Incognito - he stumbled & fell and the Bills took a chance on him, supported him and he did well until Richie now admits he slid back to his old bad habits.  I really hope Duke does not slide but I think he has embraced Coach McD's philosophy of sell improvement.

I do not think he was invited to combine so I think that is his college reported speed.

Now we all know CFL fields are bigger so it may be he has gotten even faster with all the practice running around on it.

I have yet to see Allen make any of the stupendously ridiculously good throws that you'd see Favre make from time to time.

You don't see most QBs making the throws Favre made. Why? Because Favre wsa always behind on his reads and had to make up for that inability to read defenses with his arm. Most QBs who are reading defense never make a Favre throw.

Zay Jones is Josh Reed without the talent. But at least Reed was the third option in offenses that featured Eric Moulds and Peerless Price. Jones is the third option behind John Brown and Cole Beasley?!!! If you're to find out as to whether or not Allen is the answer at the QB position, he needs talented skill players surrounding him. This WR crew leaves a whole hell of a lot to be desired- and Jones is the least gifted of the entire unit. But at least he blocks well....

Most great QBs have less talented WR. Every time some fan  says it's the WR, its always a team with a poor Star QB. That is a QB who should be a star but for some reason he's not. Fans want to baby him so they blame the WRs. Russell Wilson, Drew Brees, Tom Brady types never complain about the WRs.

I honestly think that Brett Favre is one of the greatest players to ever play the game. Flawed, sure, but the productivity was incredible. He was on a bunch of mediocre-talent teams that he took very, very far on his right arm.

We don't disagree. Farve is a deserving HOFer.

I think they're different kind of players. For example, JA doesn't always force the ball where it should not go and get away with it because of his arm. That is what made Farve great. If you watch JA he actually goes to the correct read on the field, (most of the time) he just doesn't get it to the player he's throwing it too. JA is actually a pretty smart reader of defenses and I don't believe Farve was ever a great reader of defenses. JA issue is what's it's always been, accuracy. JA throws are bad but he is throwing them to the correct player on the field 90% of the time. That is not what Farve did. Farve's arm saved his boneheaded mistakes and I haven't seen that same kind of dumb reads with JA on most of his throws.

They both have strong arms.  That's where the comparison ends.

Brett's mechanics were much better than Josh's, even in his early years.

Not true. Farve had awful footwork his entire career. But where I see them as being different is in the mental aspects of the game. JA and Elway have higher mental ability. A lot of players have the physical but Elway was smarter than most every QB who played in his era. JA has that ability to be a Peyton type field general. Farve had to be controlled and or managed. For his entire career they had to direct Frave. Again JA is off on a lot of throws because he trusts his arm too much but his ceiling is Elway IMO. He just has to put in the work, take the check downs and stop trying to win the game on one throw.

Are you parsing the difference between two NFL Hall of fame QBs who ran around and made many mistakes but also many great plays? I would say all three are very similar to each other.

I just see Farve as a closer comp to Mike Vick or Jake Plummer. JA has a feel for the game I never saw in Farve. Elway and Allen have more natural talent + mental ability. If JA ever becomes a student of the game he will be better than Farve. JMO. Will he? That's the only question I have with JA.

We're leaving Duke on the PS because of Foster.

From what I've seen of McDermott I bet he brings up Duke in the 2nd half of the season so that there is not a season worth of game tape on him when they'll need him in tough defensive games down the stretch.

Did you really just compare Zay Jones to Robert Woods? WOW talk about clueless. Almost every fan knew Woods was wide open all the time and a very physical WR who played with heart. Zay Jones doesn't get open, doesn't catch, and looks completely lost to how to play the position of WR. My god.

When the all 22 comes out you'll see Zay was open ALL THE TIME yesterday.

Woods?    IIRC, he was well-respected as a good #2 WR who blocked extremely well in the run game.   Made clutch catches all the time.

Still, when he hit FA, the Bills and most fans (myself included) didn't think he was worth the FA contract he signed with the Rams.   He's since proven that wrong..

Bills fans wanted him gone. Bills fans said he sucked. Bills fans said he wasn't worth a 2nd round pick. That's all they did was call shows and say he was a blocking receiver who adds no value to the receiving corps.
