  1. Not much can be said now of Whaley........ just let him do his job.

It goes back to when the Pegula's first took over. They should have fired EVERYONE the instant they put pen to paper when they bought the team.

Whaley is getting his chance to get his team out of the mud and quickly. It is up to him to hit an immediate home run with this draft. If his draft choices this year provide very little immediate help to a team that desperately needs it, then he should be shown the door at the end of 2017.

I know it's a crappy deal for Whaley, but he put himself in this situation.

  2. Picking up his 5th year option would not preclude him signing a LTD. He is eligible to sign a LTD now. Players have to complete their 3rd league year before doing so and he's done that. Also of note: the option is guaranteed for injury only and may be rescinded up until the first day of the league year of the option. That's a day in early March 2018 for Watkins. No reason not to pick it up now. As I mentioned earlier, it doesn't make sense to do a LTD for him yet though.

Then this is a story about nothing with what you said here.

  3. I am from Kearny, NJ and now live in Levittown, NY, which is Long Island.

I became a Bills fan back in 82.

In 81, when I was 9 years old, my fandom was all over the place. So, my father, who was a big Jets fan, told me to pick a team or face a lifetime of persecution, lol.

So, the Bills and Jets happened to be playing the 81 Wild Card game at the time and I told my father I will root for whichever team wins this game.

It just so happened that I was rooting for the Bills during the game anyways cause the entire crowd was for the Jets. I was always rooting for the bad guys when I was young, lol.

So that's the strange story of me becoming a Bills fan.

  4. My personal preferences............

    If they don't trade down.........

    1. By some miracle Hooker slides to ten, a Bills employee should run and tackle Goodell right after the ninth selection so he can't get off the podium for the Bills to make the selection in record quick time.

    2. Corey Davis

    3. OJ Howard

But, I am looking to make SEVERAL trades down and getting lots of pucks. It's the best way to build depth for 2017.

  5.

It'd be Billsy to take a TE and attempt to replicate what other teams are now doing. Billsy, because they'd have done it by using a high 1st and big UFA dollars.

So many fans said offense wasn't (EDIT:their) problem last year, but cited the defense. And right now, their secondary depth, starting LBs, and DE depth is more of a priority. This team doesn't have the luxury of taking a TE in the top half of the first round. Hasn't stopped the front office from doing it.

This time around it wouldn't be so Billsy to take someone where it is perceived that the team doesn't have a need.

The universal thought is that this kid is an absolute beast and he might not even make it to ten anyways. That's how highly thought of that this kid is in NFL circles.

I remember when the Giants took Carl Banks third overall in 84 when they already had Van Pelt and LT manning the OLB spots. Point being, if this kid is that great a talent, you have to forget more pressing needs and take the best player available in the first round.

    Even with this Howard talk.........

I do like Mike Williams or Corey Davis.

I wonder if the Bills DO go QB at 10 though. That would turn this fan base upside down and opinions will be thru the roof.

  6.

Mahomes is my first choice, if he's not there then Watson, if he's not there then we can talk about a positional player at #10.

Mahomes at 10? Now that would be a shocker.

I wouldn't hate it at all, but it would be a shocker.

It also means Taylor will be playing for his football life and we might see the very best out of Taylor. Who knows.

  7. That's why Bills fans are so angry, b.c they actually know alot about their team.

Like I said, we may bash each other to no end, but there isn't a fan base that even comes close to the Bills fan base in terms of knowledge of the NFL and their own team.

    It's not even close.

...Trade down for picks IMO....Ebron was supposed to be a slam dunk at #10 in 2014.....taking him a long time to prove his worth IMO.............

I loved Ebron, but he was hardly a slam dunk.

The difference here is that Howard has massive size and is a monster blocker, which can help the run game and if he stays in on third downs, he can do his part and help give Taylor the extra time to actually find a receiver.

  8. Back in 2014, I wanted Eric Ebron at 9 for the Bills.

Now it's 2017, and even though I think Clay is outstanding and will be the biggest beneficiary of Dennison's offense, the need for a big time talent is still there.

This is where Howard comes in.

He is 8,000 more times the prospect Ebron is and the Bills could use him and Clay all over the place in Dennison's offense.

For me, the perfect pick at 10 (if he even lasts to 10), but it requires that Taylor throw the ball to these guys too.

Plus he has an awesome catch radius for even the worst QB's imaginable.

    What do you think?

  9. Why are you guys so worried about the 2nd spot?

Tyrod hardly targets the second wideout, and asides from that, the bills are a run first team.

    Different philosophy now.

This coaching staff might actually require Taylor to throw the ball, but with Mills back, this style of offense will get Taylor killed, lol.
