  1. What I took from the following footage....looks aweful at the start, messed up foowork, hitch in release, recievers waiting for the ball, passes dipping just before arriving...I figured he foot was still messed up...then he warmed up alittle and all that bad stuff faded and he nailed his 1 deep out (i wish he woulda threw more)...then I thought he even looked better as he kept throwing...

I don't know how much you can take from a proday, but for draftnik Bills' fans like myself, it was fun to watch....

    GO BILLS!

  2. Maybin is a bust. He was horrible last year. 18 tackles, 0 sacks. Orakpo had 50 tackles and 11 sacks. This isn't even close.

People love his "story" or his work ethic. None of that means anything if you have the frame of a WR. Maybe he can become a decent OLB. Anything's possible. But he'll never justify the #11 overall pick, and he'll never get out of Orakpo's shadow.

Wow, could you tell us the meaning of life as well while you're at it!

  3. Ranked #4 LT by New York Times

    "4. Jared Gaither, Baltimore Ravens

The largest and perhaps most talented lineman in the game. Hard to believe there are whispers about his work ethic."

If can get for a 2nd rounder, do it.

    Interesting note on Jason Peters:

"I was a Peters believer until this past season. Sack numbers allowed are notoriously misleading. Peters is a classic case of “watch him on film and you’ll never feel the same about him again”. Peters struggled in Buffalo in ’08, but I figured it was primarily due to early season rust after a holdout. But to see the way he struggled in ’09….the guy simply wasn’t good. Maybe he can turn it around, he’s certainly talented, but watch the film, ignore the numbers and you’ll see just how disruptive he was to Philly’s offense"

If he's as good as you guys think, he'll command more than a two. I thought it was excellent news that he could go to two teams drafting before buffalo....

I don't have to look at film, thank you though. I find it interesting that no one ever seems to point outr the obvious about Peters. He gained at least 30#'s form his 2007 season. he still hasn't lost it....

  5. I'm glad you were able to formulate an accurate scouting report regarding him based soley on a youtube video you watched.

They had every dan williams play from a game against a worthy foe...what better way to form an opinion????

what, do you watch every game a player played before you post?

or, is reading something in a mag. a better way?

    I think not....

Huh, could you tell us the meaning of life as well....

  7. Brohm has played one game in the NFL with an offense that he had three weeks to learn and an offensive line that was down three starters. I think that saying he sucks based off that one performance is a bit premature. As for all that talk about how he couldn't cut it with the Packers, if you were suggesting that he was even competing for the starting job in his ROOKIE season there, you're nuts. Aaron Rodgers was the #1 QB on the team and not even a first round pick was going to challenge him that year for the starting job. And, since when did a Rookie QB in a 3 QB system ever become the second string QB in their first season. It is extremely rare, except in cases where the grizzled old vet is getting ready to retire, and if he gets hurt, they want the new guy to get a chance to play and learn the system in game time scenarios. People who post comments about players sucking or being busts without thinking are frequently wrong or unknowledgeable about football in general.

Further, to say that Brohm only had a mediocre career at Louisville shows a clear lack of research at the very least into the topic. Here are his stats at Louisville from the three years when he was their starter.

Att Cmp % YDS TD INT Rating RAtt RYds Avg RTD

    2005- 301 207 68.8 2,883 19 5 166.7 41 -36 -0.9 4

    2006- 314 199 63.4 3,049 16 5 158.6 46 45 1.0 0

    2007- 473 308 65.1 4,024 30 12 152.4 57 -46 -0.8 3

Here's the link to the stats page at Rivals.com where the stats here came from. http://collegefootball.rivals.com/cviewpla...er=36481#ticker

The fact is, Brohm passed for over 11,000 yards in his college career and played in a very good football conference. Not the best, but very good. In Green Bay as a rookie, Brohm was never going to start. The backup, Matt Flynn, has only appeared in four games, and his stats are atrocious. Rookie QBs never play very well when coming off the bench, or in camp because they have to learn a system with which they are almost always unfamiliar. Talentwise, Brohm is probably the best guy on the roster.

I don't know if Brohm is the long term answer or not. I do think the Bills like Tebow, and that statements like this could be a smokescreen to keep other teams from drafting him before the Bills pick at 41. If they draft Tebow, I think it will be clear who the Bills will want to be the opening day starter. But Brohm is a good prospect, and given a good coaching staff, he has the tools to develop into a good QB in the NFL. Stating that a player "sucks" when they have appeared in 1 NFL game is completely ridiculous. Let's give the guy a chance with the team and the new staff before we unequivocally, and without any evidence at all is ridiculous. If you go back and watch that Falcons game, you'll actually see that the guy has a good arm and solid instincts. He just needs to be in a system that he has more than three weeks to learn, and have a line that isn't made up of third string starters. Those things will tend to lead to bad QB play.

here, here! the guy was the #1 college QB in the country in december 2007. Yes, bring in another QB, but let him compete!

  8. There are a lot of people talking about aquiring raven's LT Jared Gaither. I now little about him. Could someone do the wall a solid and give a rundown on him. you know, college and pro history, strenghts and weaknesses and why the Raven's want to trade him?

    Please and thank you,

    GO BILLS!

  9. We'll see. It shouldn't take long to find out.

It still will probably take awhile....still awefully young and still learning a new defense. I think the biggest reasons he was invisible last year were that he was taught two positions of a complex defense (olb and de) which had him thinking too much. On top of that, he was just plain, old weak by NFL standards. He is very young and maybe now he has his NFL "man" body... maybe.

I love his story; having friends like ray lewis, shawn merriman and lavar arrington since high school, how neat is that! Those guys must see something. I loved the way he moved in preseason, fast and low to the ground, like a runnig back. He also looked to hit hard. There was a play in preseason, he was at DE I thnk, and a pass was completed past the LB's and then a low to the ground big blur came otta nowwhere and made a ferociuos tackle. The size, speed and ferocity of the tackle looked so strange in a Bills' uniform, I new it wasn't anyone from the previous years' roster. I watched it 4 or 5 more times. I never did figure out how he got down field...

His rookie season was depressing no doubt, but any bust labels are way too immature. Tons of NFL rookies need years to mature. Yeah, the old Bills's braintrust shoulda taken that into account, but that's not Maybin's fault.

    GO BLLS!

  10. Okung & Bulaga will be gone, Trent Williams is rumored to be a better right tackle (plus he's probaly gone by #9) Anthony Davis' play supposedly does not match his formidable talents (plus he could be gone too) so taking a tackle is by no means a slam dunk. I think Claussen will also be gone by pick nine, but I'm starting to think should we get him we will have done well in rd. 1.

I don't watch Norte dame, but seeing USA TODAYS 8 mock drafts showing Claussen going to the Bills made me run a search on him...there's a lot of video to look at, for one.....I saw a very quick release, very good pocket presence, certainly an adequate arm... maybe better...I read many draft reviews on him and everybody seemed tolike him, his stats, for a big school are very impressive...he is a california boy and his 1st name is a pickle are the worst things I could find on him (and remember, if he wins the pickle name will become cool.)

Sooo....using your big words, what's everybody got against him?

And, assuming we can't trade down (maybe someone will fall in love with Spiller or my pick as the surprise draft faller...Berry, but I think teams will wait in a draft loaded from picks 10 - 30), and the top tackles are gone, so who do you take?

And for the derrick morgan fans...I'm pretty sure the Bills have Maybin penciled in at ROLB. It's not like the guy died or nothing...sheesh he's what? 23? Do you see him as a RDE?

Who do I think we'll end up with (forced to draft)? Spiller...which is not such a bad thing

    Haha, let the insults fly!

  11. I was wondering if anyone living in or near Buffalo has heard any updates on E Woods recovery...is he walking with out a boot, limping still, etc. Any updates would be appreciated. Thanks

Me too! I mean, his health should be of major interest to Bills Fans.

The guy has (had) clear probowl potential and there are very few updates.

    Little help?

  12. How Will Buddy Nix Do?

Please read this before voting....Want to know how Buddy Nix will do as the Buffalo Bills new GM? Well, so do I. That's why I tried to find out exactly how much influence Buddy Nix had in building the powerhouse San Diego Chargers, arguably the NFL's most talented team. Where there is no doubt is that Buddy Nix, holding the prestigious titles of Director of Player Personnel and Assistant General Manager had certainly helped a lot. Aside from that, I could find no reputable information. Undaunted, I decided to look closer to home. From 1993 to 2000 Buddy Nix held the title of Regional Scout, South East region. The following is a list of players the Bills drafted between 1993 and 1999 from the southeast region.

    Go Bills!

  13. Levi Brown looked like a much better NFL QB prospect last night then LeFevour IMO.

I wanted to include Brown's excellent play in my post and forgot. However, I thought Brown played for the better team and lost.

I think Lefevour made plays on his own and has "it."

Thanks for pointing Brown's play out, man, it was a fantastic game and I would like it if we got Brown as well.

  14. After reading great stuff about Central Michigan star QB Dan Lefevour on the stadium wall, I decided to check him out playing in the GMAC bowl last night versus Troy.

Let's get the minuses out of the way...he looks way too young to lead a NFL club and he's a little smaller than his listed size of 6'3" 238lb, He also never plays under center, but these are just nitpicks. The only real problem is that he lacks the cannon Bills' fans think a QB at the Ralph must possess. After watching Edwards and Fitzpatrick all season you gotta think they may be right.

However, Lefevour by no means has a weak arm, it certainly wouldn't be a problem for a dome team and he has so many positives...most of you know about his ridiculous stats but they bear repeating; nearly 13000 yds, and 102 TD's, to give him a 143 career QB rating. Add to that 3000 rushing yds. an another 47 TD's and you have the holder for the Mid American Conference records for career completions, attempts, passing yards, passing touchdowns, total touchdowns, and total offensive yards. LeFevour is the only player in NCAA history with over 12,000 passing yards and 2,500 rushing yards and currently sits 2nd all time in total offensive yards. He also holds the FBS record for total touchdowns with 150. (whew!)

Watching yesterday, he displayed a nice release, excellent pocket presence, excellent field awareness, excellent mobility and is a fine athelete. Throws well on the run (even backwards), has excellent touch and threw with some mustard at times. He is clearly intelligent, directs traffic, had excellent throw aways, and audibled correctly several times. He managed the game very well, and led his team to his 8th career 4th quarter comeback victory 44-41. His baby-face seemed to disappear with the game on he line, his facial expression looked like e knew he would win(similar to Brady or Manning, or Tebow or Jordan for that matter.)

During the game, which was excellent by the way, he made 5 or 6 huge NFL type plays, my personel favorite was a 2nd and 15 play with 4 minutes left, backed-up on his own ten. Out the the shotgun, the play call was clearly a standard pass out of the pocket. With noone open, he leaned to run to his left, but that hole quickly closed. Not panicking he found an opening to his right and took it. Running with his head up, he began directing traffic. At the last second, with his feet one foot behind the line of scrimage and one yard from out of bounds he let go of a beautiful pass dropping the ball neatly over the shoulder of his receiver, leading him for a 22 Yrd. gain. The announcers kept referring to other great plays but that was my favorite because he was in such a dire situation at the time.

How does he differ from Tebow? He looks more like an elusive QB than a running QB. Seems a little taller and lankier (he could get to 238lbs.) and he doesn't have that hitch in his release. Most importantly, he was born, raised and played in the North! Ofcourse, Tebow is a phenomonon and I would be happy with either of them.

I think, there is little doubt that the senior bowl practices and game (how well can they throw the deep out) will greatly determine what round each of them is taken.

As much as I agree with Bills' fans that believe we need a monster DT and a monster LB, the NFL is all about the QB. Barrng injuries, we have an O-line, with Bell, Levitre, Hangartner, Wood and Butler, being pushed by Simmons, McKinney, Incognito, Meridith and Chambers being pushed by Scott, Ramsey, Gaddis, Hennessey, Watkins and Marvin for a total of 16 O-line men. Barring injuries, they should be able to coach-up 8 of these prospects to protect a QB. They definitely (IMO) put OL to a secondary need in this draft. We have to secure a serious QB prospect in this draft to compete with Brohm and if done correctly, another player with clear NFL starting potential.

NOTE: Ray Bentley was having a post-game chat (off-air) with him after the game.

    GO BILLS!

  15. Ummm, he turned the perennial losing TB franchise into a team that made the playoffs in 4 of his 6 seasons, which included a trip to the NFC Championship game (which they lost on a miracle catch by Ricky Proehl and a bad no-catch call on Bert Emmanuel--which incidentaly sparked a rule change).

Couple that with 7 consecutive playoff appearances (winning at least 12 games every season with the exception of one in which they had 10 wins) and a Superbowl victory in Indy, and I'd say he's done just fine in both places.

Let's also remember that TB won the Superbowl the year after he was fired--Gruden should get half the credit due to the vast improvement on offense, but Dungy's half of the credit shouldn't fall by the wayside.

And I don't put a whole lot into the "too soft" stuff. Dick Vermiel won a Superbowl, and he's the ultimate softie. Bill Walsh wan't a yeller either. If a guy can coach, he can coach.

    Just my 1 cent.
