  1. Until the Bills find a deep speed guy, lee is staying. Every offense works better with a burner like Lee. Parrish and Jones stay as well, they both double as valuable special teamers. The Bills have a good problem here and will keep 7 if Naamon forces them to....

    gobills!

  2. He isn't necessarily supposed to get push, he is supposed to clog the middle and take up blockers to prevent runs up the middle.

I watched him about 5 plays very closely vs. detroit. I'd say, maybe by mid-season he'll be an ok 10-15 play sub. Right now, 5 or 8 p/g I'd say. Because Willaims must rest and Troup must learn. I think, what you want to see is explosion and power or athleticism (like big teddy w), troup held his own, kinda, but did not look special in any particular way... imho...

    good effort and hustle though...

  3. I'll say it, Bell is a NFL back. The way he looks in camp, preseason and his college highlight tape, he'll help alot somewhere barring injury. If we lose him, we will be sorry....If we can trade Marshawn for something, do it. If not, they better be teaching him special teams on the double....maybe they can carry him as an inactive if the other 3 are all healthy....

    good problem....

  4. Methinks, like countless others I'm sure, that Maybin left college a year too early. While I have no personal experience with it, I'd have to imagine that NFL defenses are probably complex things that build on basic knowledge. This kind of basic knowledge is presumably built up through peewee, high school, and college ball. By the time you hit the NFL, you have to be ready to take that to a whole other level and incorporate that into your game. I'm not saying that all NFL players are geniuses; far from it. But they do have an understanding of the game, ingrained in them so much that it has to be instinctive to them at this point.

If Maybin never fully developed that instinctiveness in his shorter Penn State career, then I can see how it would extremely difficult to do it at this level. It has to be like trying to take Calc II without having finished Pre-Calc: you have some idea of what's going on, but a lot of it is flying by really fast and it's tough to pick up the pace. Hopefully the learning curve won't be too bad after another season in the NFL, but you really don't know. I hope for both Maybin and the Bills that he pans out.

It's probably true. he's very young and learning a new position and a new defense. I believe he also has a needs to grow into his body issue. man, what were those guys thinking...well anyway, he should at least be able to display rare athletisism this year. If not, I can't see how pro football people could be so dense?

  5. My point is everyone is so quick to bury a kid who played at the highest level of his profession at 21. I wasn't a huge fan of the pick, but besides Whitner, I've never seen fans want to destroy this kid. Anything Maybin does, people want to hate him for it.

Maybe it's my fault, but I thought Bills fans were better than that. IT almost seems liek there is a group of fans hoping Maybin fails so they can say they were right about it on a message board. I think 10 or 20 years ago, fans weren't as irrational and so quick to insult.

I was reading an old post from brian g. at rumbles right after the pick of maybin. I found it amusing that no one canned the pick then....

  6. Or it could mean he sucks, which is a monotonous and consistent thing.

I don't know how accuracy and TE ever became linked, it certainly wasn't from anyone watching him throw.

    GO BILLS!

PS- I'm not being mean, he really stinks!

Even when he went 5& 1, if you watched closely, most of his throws went to wide-open stationary targets and most of the passes were late and off the mark (negating any RAC yrds.))

  7. thanks once again mike! I look for your reports daily!

To me, mckelvin looked like a future super-star as a rookie, first play I saw him play corner

(about mid-season I think) he smacked the receiver so hard he fumbled, Mckelvin then falls on it. And the receiver was KO'd for a while! what a 1st play! do you remember that?

I thought he looked pretty shaky all preseason in 2009 (before the incident.)

anyway, he's a huge investment with, dare I say, deon like skills, catavalos has to fix him, send him to a shrink, hypnotize him or somethin' we need him....

wouldn't that be funny if whitner starts in the probowl this year? jauron falls in love with this guy, insists we pick him ahead of all this known talent, and then never uses him right.....highlarryus!

Summary- Today during signatures, Welker accompanied his autograph with a message "One game at a time", presumably a retort to RR's proclaimation that the Jets will win the next 40 SB's

Don't really like Wes that much as a player (he's hurt us too much in the past), but I like what he did here. Really, it highlights the way that the Pats* have operated during much of past decade. Play one game at a time (and don't get caught cheating).

I can't wait to see the Jests blow up this year. I hate them. Their QB is an even bigger sally than ours!

NO @#$%^ WAY ANYONE'S QB IS A BIGGER SALLY THAN OURS! NO !@#$%^ WAY! WHOOOOOOOoooooooo0000000OO!

  9. I love Farve and wish he comes back. It is just fun to watch him play the game. Anyone who questions how hard this must be for Farve has never played football. If he truly is done, I wish him the best. One of my favorite non-Bills ever.

And Taravis Jackson is a lot better than people are giving him credit for. I think the Vikes are going to the playoffs regardless.

he had some phenominal games last year, very exciting...but I think he blew it in the nfc title game (aside from peterson's fumbles) ...vikes were the better team IMHO....

    PLAYOFFS....probably....SB? ......Who knows?
