I also have no idea why people are so high on K. Elam CB Florida - an awful tackler and frequently loses coverage. The Florida Defensive staff was awful at coaching but good at recruiting so maybe it’s based on potential, but I just don’t see it and I watched every game of his career. That’s a player I hope that they do not draft. Honestly the entire secondary this year was laughably bad in comparison to it being a historically strong group. Watch the Alabama or LSU games as examples. Jeremiah Moon may be the only player worth drafting and he is probably a late round pick due to being a questionable NFL edge rusher or odd fit at LB that doesn’t seem to diagnose plays quick enough.
Stingley or Woolen are the CBs I like the most but no way Bills get Stingley without moving up and I don’t think it would be worth the cost.

220 - Florida really had a stacked backfield so he doesn’t have a ton of mileage but averaged 5.7 yds a carry and was used as their short yardage back. One of my favorite rbs I’ve seen at Florida since the early 90s (up there with Fred Taylor and Earnest Graham). The offense was just better with him on the field whether he got the ball or not.

Integrity is worth it and you’ll not make a fool of yourself by compromising it. He should’ve quit if he wasn’t on board, plain and simple, bc it is likely the reason he hasn’t had an NFL FO job since. He ended up an ex-employee anyway and you have to be strong and willing to step out if you don’t agree with the organization. You can still do it with dignity, and preserve your career. Being complicit seems to have been his MO and we can make all the excuses in the world for what held him back, but let’s be real he was part of the problem.

Too many go in with these preconceived approaches and just plug it all game rather than being in the moment of the game, or just overemphasize a player saying their name hundreds of times a game (e.g., Drew Brees or Brady). Some just focus on mistakes. All of those approaches miss the mark for me. Madden was great because he knew to shut up sometimes or just focus on something unique or positive in the moment of the game. Romo is good because he sees the game and is great at providing insight into the QB’s options and the formation strengths and he is sincerely likable in his approach by not being a smug jock.

Hill could be a headache that doesn’t like the QB situation or the lack of touches if things don’t go as expected. I think it could be expensive trouble for the Dolphins in the grand scheme. We’ll see how it unfolds.

Watkins was such a bad pick and that was a really deep draft at WR. Trading up to get a WR in that draft was a perfect example of their incompetence in the FO at that time. They were so bad at drafting offense in those years.

Meyer is an egomaniac that commands respect to young kids looking to make the NFL but doesn’t have the skills to be successful in the NFL. I even think he was successful in influencing the pro game with his offenses before ever coaching in the NFL, and he is a great college coach. He’s not a good person by several accounts but there are plenty of programs that would hire him in a hot second. I don’t like him but I respect his success in college. Since leaving Florida the program has been meandering and I hate how he left feigning health issues because the rumor is he had really rubbed some big time boosters the wrong way by some affair scandal (also apparently he and his wife have open marriage/swingers). I don’t really care about what people do or how they live but I do respect integrity and sincerity and I think he lacks both.

Read the article and as I pointed out earlier they tried forcing the ball to him on the ensuing possession after his tirade and it was picked off. It changed the tenor of the game. I watched the game with a good friend of mine who is a Seahawks fan and it was very memorable- yeah Metcalf scored on a long TD later that quarter but the Seahawks offense lost any rhythm it had and was out of synch most of the second half until garbage time. You can believe me or not but I know what I saw and I’m just saying I’m not all that impressed with the mental/emotional aspect of his game - young player and immensely talented, though.
I also think any trade for him is basically a one year rental unless you aren’t considering diggs a long term Bill. Chances are pretty low he is a Bill so either way nothing to get too excited about.

My point in sharing that is that in a playoff game he was a huge distraction that hurt his team. Diggs was a guy who had an incredible play to win a playoff game. Did Diggs get disgruntled in Minnesota? Yeah, but he never hurt his team when it mattered most to be a pouty baby and I don’t think he ever lowered his effort on the field. I think Metcalf is a beast and could be incredible if his commitment to the team is there but you see guys come unhinged and it just brings up some serious questions about him being a good fit on any team. I’d love the Bills to get a player that physically gifted but does a guy that is willing to do that in a playoff game put the Bills over the hump? If they did get Metcalf I’d still be excited but I’d be concerned about the chemistry.

Metcalf is a guy that has given inconsistent effort after a really impressive rookie season, and has been prone to really bad body language on the field. I think it was the Seahawks last playoff game where Metcalf got upset with his opportunities, then Wilson started forcing the ball to him and his lack of effort lead to an interception. I remember thinking to myself what an unfortunate development for the Seahawks because I thought the guy was about to enter the top WR in the league discussion. Insane talent, but pressing the issue hurt the team and shows a lack of perspective. Even if it comes from a place of competitiveness it can still hurt the team and is selfish. Now what is going on with that organization is a different story, but I’m not sure he is a guy that helps the Bills as much as we might think he would.

There are definitely teams willing to make a trade with Zona for Kyler regardless of all of this, but he is actually hurting his value, screwing himself and the team. It’s dumb on so many levels and is very off-putting to fans and other teams. Wanting to get paid is absolutely fine and NFL owner behavior (e.g., Ross, Snyder, etc.} is much more concerning than this by several magnitudes. However, conducting negotiations is a chess match that you want to win by representing your client in the best light possible - this misses the mark like someone piss drunk at the urinal standing five feet away.

The Bills defense needs players that will give them versatility to play differently when teams come heavy run at them or the elements dictate a slogfest. I think the scheme they run is vulnerable to certain players but the players they have are skilled and generally doing what the staff wants. No draft is going to fix some of those issues unless they unearth a transcendent talent. They can literally pick bpa on defense for a number of reasons and I don’t think there would be much argument from me.
the interior line needs an upgrade and younger depth. Kromer is a good coach but you have got to give him some young talent to mold. They need to be eyeing a replacement for Morse. They also need a short yardage back to take some punishment off of Allen. They can find this in FA or UDFA but I’m really a big fan of the complete game of Damien Pierce who is an excellent pass blocker, receiver, short yardage back with a nose for the endzone.

Edmunds isn’t a bust and Dean will likely not be there at 25. If Dean is available somehow at 25 then yeah go for it. And the earlier take on Edmunds is spot on. In fact I’d take it a step further and say that good OCs game plan to take advantage of his weaknesses in the run game especially his tendency to get out of position opening run lanes up the middle.

I think they have to look at shoring up the Interior OL despite the improvement at the end of the year. They need to move on from a lot of the pieces they had. I think Kromer makes a big difference, but they need to keep the pipeline of talent in front of Josh. That is the priority and where this team struggled during the season to find any consistency and it impacted the entire team.
I know people are pretty polarized on Edmunds. He's a fine player, but not what we all hoped he'd be. I doubt this will happen but I almost think that Defense would be better served to move him outside and play with 3 true LBs more frequently and find an option that provides a bit more playmaking ability at the MLB position. I know Ray Lewis, Urlacher and Singletary aren't just waiting to be drafted, but the Defense Frazier runs is most successful when you have playmakers at every level up the spine of the Defense (DT, MLB and Strong Safety). Standing pat with Milano and Edmunds at LB seems like wishful thinking to improve the Defense. Milano is undersized against the run and Edmunds frequently gets lost in traffic. I think this position is far more important than people think to this defense and is the difference between it being good and great. I just don't think Edmunds is ever going to find the consistency and I don't think he'll be worth his market value come time to pay up.

I watched every game he played in as a Gator alum. Very good all around back that really put in the work to put on size without compromising his running ability. Great pass blocker, good hands and powerful. He didn’t get a feature role because the gators didnt really do that with Mullen, it was a committee and those other backs are pretty good in their own right. He did have 16 TDs this past year and was definitely their red zone back.

Well hopefully we don’t need it as much and it is more of an improvised thing than having several designed runs per game. I agree it can be very effective, but it’s not something that should be a staple in the years to come. That’s why they need a versatile pounding back that has a nose for the endzone. Moss looks for contact too much and doesn’t have great vision. Singletary is a good back, but it’s nice to have a compliment that has some thud and vision.

In actuality of course we could have won that game but for mistakes mainly on coaching at the end. But that wasn't the question. The question was did you feel better or worse about the Bills going into this post-season than last. I felt worse.
Going into the playoffs I felt fine about the Offense, which was weird since they were not looking good for stretches during the season, especially on the line. However, the thing that worried me more than anything was the D - even though they were statistically the best. They had shown an inability to handle good running teams, had not shown any ability to make clutch plays late in tight games. They were great if they got up on teams early or got take-aways, but otherwise they were soft and could get manhandled. There is something philosophically deficient about the D and for the second year in a row - they played against the Chiefs without much aggression in the playoffs. Teams like the Chargers and Bucs have shown teams how to attack the Chiefs, and the Bengals didn't play on their heels either. The Bills simply give the Chiefs too much respect on Offense and it makes it easy for them.

That bodes really well...a player who takes his game up a notch in the playoffs when so many others wilt under the pressure
Allen is a clutch player that has been up to the bigger moments. I know people have mixed feelings about Gabe Davis, but he really steps up his game in the playoffs as well. The Bills need more players ready for those big moments, especially on D. I think Spencer Brown is going to be another stud and is going to come into his own in the next year or two as one of the best tackles in the game. He is athletic, huge, has a nastiness to him and is a perfect compliment to what should be an emerging identity for the Offense to be tough and very talented. I would love to see them pick up an interior lineman in the draft, and the best defensive player available because they are going to start needing to feed the pipeline as players age out and/or get too expensive (DT, S, LB). I'd also love to see them pick up a physical back like Dameon Pierce who may not have eye popping stats while at Florida, but is an absolute beast in his lower body, has good vision, and will likely see more success in the NFL. He's also a good blocker, especially in the passing game and is a decent receiver.

The line play was the biggest issue not Josh, and they finally got it straight at the end of the season. The play calling was inconsistent as well, and the offense was clearly frustrated at times during the season. The only bell cow on the team was Allen doing amazing things through the air with his legs. I thought that there was stubbornness in coaching that almost cost them the AFC East. I think Daboll should be given credit for the success in developing Allen and good to great game plans from time to time, but it may be best for the long term health of Allen and the team to be moving on from him and get more balance and physicality to compliment the toughest mofo in the league.

Flores never made the playoffs. They had a pretty good opportunity last year in a win and in situation vs the Bills backups, and lost 56-26.
Pedersen only deserves credit for having Reich on his staff. And then you can stop there. Pedersen showed himself to be an arrogant dumbass in the time following Reich’s departure, ending fantastically in Philadelphia. I think this is a terrible hire by the Jags tbh, and it’s too bad for Lawrence.

A dude like Snyder isn’t going to do anything that people like. The evidence of that is overwhelmingly clear. This team name is so damn stupid, blah and meaningless. It’s actually more generic feeling than Football Team. The little POS owner likes control over everything especially women in his organization, so Commanders seemed attractive. I think the fans would’ve loved Hogs or some form of it, because it means something. They don’t like this that’s for sure.

Mac Jones is a limited QB in physical attributes, but he played pretty well for a rookie. Thing is, I don't know how much better he can be. I feel like he is going to be a capable starter because he is not flustered in the pocket and makes good accurate throws, but I don't really see him taking a huge step forward from his rookie year. The Pats could have done much worse with a QB pick, and he was an improvement over Cam Newton by a mile.
Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are in their own stratosphere of talent, though. Yes the old dogs of Brady and Rodgers are still impressive as hell, but any GM in the league would take Allen or Mahomes if they could pick any QB in the league to put on their team. There is a tier below with Burrow, Brady, Rodgers, Russel Wilson, Lamar Jackson, and Justin Herbert. You could throw Matt Stafford in there as well I suppose. But then there are the rest IMO - guys who are decent, but are going to hold you back as much as they push you forward. Some are definitely better than others, and an argument can be made for guys like Carr, Watson, Ryan, Murray, and a few others, being a notch above the pack as well, but I don't trust any of that group to be consistent enough. Mac Jones isn't even in that group IMO.
