  1. Bring in the three beat WRs, RBs TEs, Olinemen in the league and it won't change a thing if the O coordinator continues to call an incomprehensible game and the QB remains mediocre. You want a trade that might make a genuine impact on the offense? It's rumored Bridgewater might be available. Any change other than QB and maybe O coordinator is just rearranging those ol' deck chairs again.

Redskins, Browns, Dolphins and Broncos in that order.

Look, I know our offense isn’t perfect but we are 5-2. Allen could light up these teams easily. The Eagles have a good team, it’s not like they don’t have a great QB and a great coach. We lost to a good team. Fortunately for the Bills we got some really soft targets coming up, I could easily see 9-2 by the time we get to the Cowboys. I not once expected a win against the Eagles. Cowboys could get messy but if Allen comes into his own by then it could be a fight.

No one expects a perfect offense, just NFL-adequate, which it's not even close to.

  3. Have to say I agree with all your points and your assessment. I have been feeling this way all season, doubting the coaching, the offense in toto, the D personnel, and the 5 wins. But unlike you, I am not depressed because, in Dennis Greens immortal words, the Bills "are who thought they were." Or maybe Warren Buffett's adage is better: " You don't know who's been swimming naked until the tide goes out. "

  4. A+ for the Defense, C- (up from D-) on Offense, C- on Special Teams. The Defense grade overall for 3 years is held down by the Peterman debacle and the failure to have a decent QB room, and the puzzling attachment to Vlad, Benjamin, Zay and others. However, the 180 change in focus on the Offense since last year leads me to believe McD has "got it" and that the trendline is up. I expect the Offense to be at least a solid B by this time next year. Feeling good about the future.

On to the bye week! Please, nobody be a knucklehead with a little freedom. I think this team has less chance of that than most previous teams.

I watched the recording of the Titans game last night. A lot of calls and bounces went our way. That was much closer to a different outcome than I realized live. Part of that is a young team learning to win, which I obviously love. And part is just plain luck.

That's been true of all 5 games. Could easily be 0-5. Or 5-0. I'm nervous that if this O doesn't get it together quickly that these close, go-either-way games will continue, and you can't count on the football gods to keep smiling on the Bills.

That's the spirit. Subdue enthusiasm at all costs!

The last two times the Bills opened 4-1, they wound up with a losing record. Does that predict the future? Absolutely not. But neither does opening 4-1 mean they're on the way to the Super Bowl. So long as the offense remains poor, a couple of injuries on the D and things can change overnight. So, fingers crossed.

Okay so the next 6 games are Dolphins (twice), Eagles, Skins, Browns and Broncos.

If you go purely by form we should take at least 4 out of that and, assuming we lose to the Browns and Eagles, we'd still be 8-3 heading into that final run.

Now, we could also easily take one or even both of the others, but even if we got one, that would be immense and would also give us some room to have a hiccup against the Skins or Broncos (I will not accept a shock win Vs Miami).

Anyhoo, 8-3 would be great and if I were offered it now I'd take it.

Rough run in with the Pats, Cowboys and Ravens, but the Steelers look very beatable and the Jets should have fully imploded by then. 10-6 and a wildcard looks well within reach. And all we need is an upset of one of these others and we could get to the 11 wins I predicted before the season!

Long way to go but we're getting some breaks and the bye came at just the right time

The offense will need to improve immensely. They struggle so much to get two or three scores when they have the talent to fairly easily score 24 each week and to do it earlier in the game. I hope Josh works on nothing but the long ball the next two weeks.

Daboll reminds me of Allen trying to do too much at times, but he catches himself too I think.

Lean on your run, take time off the clock, simplify things for your patchwork o-line, and the formula works.

    Helps that Gore was awesome!

And in fairness, great play call by Daboll on the naked boot and Allen staying in bound to seal it.

Here's the thing, we don't know if Josh is changing the play.
