  1. If we still “get our guy” and got extra picks as a bonus I think that’s a very good outcome. I would be fine trading back yet again from 33 if the right offer came by.  If we somehow get another late 3rd and have 4 top-100 picks I think that’s about as good as we could expect. We have our biggest holes at WR, DE, DT, and S. Go get Franklin/McConkey/Mitchell, whichever Edge is left, Jenkins, and Bishop and tell me that is a bad day 2.

  2. Personally I am fine with the trade backs. Not in love with KC being the benefactor, but consider:

    a. He likely would have fallen to them at 32 unless someone jumped them

    b. We didn’t have a high enough grade on a little WR to take him ourselves

    c. Less picks for KC isn’t a bad thing

    d. We now have 3 picks today

Anyone whining about “ThE fIfTh YeAr OpTiOn” should realize if you draft someone who is good enough for a second contract you are paying them before year 4 starts. If they aren’t good enough you will let them walk (Gabe Davis). By doing what we did we position ourselves at 33 to either have whomever we covet still or we make more trades to the right buyer.

We have more needs than just WR and getting that third and fifth are going to position us to get more impact players in a draft where the talent is going to dry up quickly after the 4th round. There are still at least 3 WR’s I have good grades on waiting for us today

If Franklin is as good at WR as Ben Franklin was to stealing and patenting other peoples’ ideas… watch out league lol

Let me start by saying I love Beane, but this move was a real head-scratcher to me.

Aside from the fact that the trade was with KC, the concept of the first trade down made sense....picking up a 3rd round pick was certainly a priority for the Bills and they accomplished that.

However, moving from 32 to 33 for yet another 5th round pick doesn't make sense due to the fact that you lose the 5th year option you get with 1st round players.

Why not just take the guy you want at 32 and have that 5th year option?

Unfortunately, the only way this move makes sense is if they are planning to trade down once again from 33......probably for 5th round picks in 2027 and 2028🙄

if whoever he drafts is “the guy” you don’t need a 5th. You’ll pay them before their 4th year in the current nfl. If he’s not “the guy” you let him walk like Gabe Davis
