My guess is that one of three things will happen:

    1) He will ahem "commit suicide" in prison or be coincidently be murdered.

    2) He will go to trial and buy his way into an aquittal.

    3) His lawyers will tell him that he is sure to lose and he will talk and name names, and I do mean prominent names.

My guess is #2. He is said to have big time political and Hollywood connections.

    What say you?

I think @Bill from NYC nailed it. Though not a full acquittal, but acquitted on the serious charges that carried mandatory minimums and convicted on the lesser charge.

the prosection recommending 51-60 months. I'm guessing the judge gives him less than that.

He may walk with time served or a lighter sentence than the prosecutor is recommending further reduced by good behavior, prison labor etc. In Florida you typically only serve 85% less work and other things prisoners can do to reduce time

The legal system is a fascinating machine when you really examine it.

So, 4 years ago something happened.  He was neither arrested nor charged with anything.  He becomes a 1st round pick in the NFL and is slated to be paid millions et voila a civil suit is filed.  Money grab, All.  Day.  Long.

    Yup

Was reading they were intimate multiples times, so not sure how that is assault. Probably why UK AND THE POLICE didn't charge or punish him with anything

Not only was he not charged, the matter was investigated and dropped due to lack of evidence. The girl has posted on social media about it several times over the years but there has never been any corroborating evidence, so I don't know what she or the law firm are expecting to happen here. I would guess they're hoping for a quick settlement.

Yup. Hoping to get something because he has a reputation they are tarnishing. Easy prey for the vultures and modern day ambulance chaser attorney

  3. He had 5 charges

    1. Rico

    2. Sex trafficking-2 counts

    3. Transportation for prostitution 2 counts

Got off on all the serious charges and convicted of transportation of prostitution

I followed the trial and must say the defense did a great job poking holes in case to make sure there was reasonable doubt

He may end up with time served

He's still a scummy mofo, closet homosexual and overall bad person, but the prosecutor dropped the ball and the defense team made sure to do what was needed to make sure they couldn't convict.

Clearly someone in power wanted him to pay, and that probably brought this on, but let's be realistic, celebrities are doing all sorts of nasty ***** like this.

At the same time, I applaud the justice system, because there was definitely reasonable doubt on the rico and trafficking charges.  The transportation for prostitution is the only charge that should have stuck based on the trial

The defense called 0 witnesses and poked just enough holes in all the prosecutors witnesses.

Not saying it's right, but as Omar little said, the game is the game.

Money talks, and those lawyers did their jobs

I just looked out of curiosity… and yes, Jerry jones attorney and also a Texas state senator of 30+ years. A recent lengthy extension to move the trial outside the legislative session of January through June.

Hahha so the lawyer is claiming he's to busy and hes a senator. Now the delays make sense. A judge won't say no to that lawyer.  They probably golf together every other weekend

Let's wait till the charges are greatly reduced to a slap on the wrist and probation. Doubt they will get the charges dropped so Rice is probably well aware the stiffest penalty is gonna be the suspension the league gives him.

If it's postponed til June, then he's gonna try to get the next date pushed til 2026.  He won't be suspended til 2026 season

I have been listening very carefully to that very loud silence.

It's almost like the criminal case will drag out until his career is over.  A bit hard for me to understand how the league can pretend to care about its image but let that guy on the field.

    "We're busy, Man"

Amazing how money can drag something out like this.  The judge must be a Chiefs fan.

Normally you don't see something like this go almost two years without court appearances of some type to address the case
