U.S.-led coalition says it will withdraw from Iraq -letter

BAGHDAD, Jan 6 (Reuters) - The United States-led military coalition against Islamic State said on Monday that it was pulling out of Iraq and would be repositioning forces over the next few days and weeks, a letter seen by Reuters showed.

"Sir, in deference to the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq, and as requested by the Iraqi Parliament and the Prime Minister, CJTF-OIR will be repositioning forces over the course of the coming days and weeks to prepare for onward movement," read a letter from United States Marine Corps Brigadier General William H. Seely III, the commanding general of Task Force Iraq.

The authenticity of the letter, which was addressed to the Iraqi defence ministry's Combined Joint Operations Baghdad, was confirmed to Reuters independently by an Iraqi military source.

"We respect your sovereign decision to order our departure," it said. (Reporting by Ahmed Aboulenein Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)

I hope McConnell refuses to accept the "House Managers," on the grounds that there's absolutely no such legal requirement for the House to be involved in Senate business.

Just to watch the lefts' heads explode.

Bolton has come out and said that if he is subpoenaed by the Senate that he will testify. all of which has renewed calls for the House to subpoena him. i mean, you seriously can't make this ***** up, their minds are completely broken.

I get that folks hated the Obama Iran nuclear deal.  I have read several posts talking about Obama's folly and pallets of cash.   The deal included a lot of hope and prayers on how Iran would react to the invitation to 'normalize'.  Over time they didn't seem to be normalizing however as their regional agitation persisted or arguably worsened.  On the plus side though, it did buy some time to deal with their nuclear program short of attacking Iran.  With the agreed upon oversight, their nuclear program was frozen to a large extent.  Then, Trump decided to make a big splash and tear up the agreement.

If you thought the Iran nuclear deal was a terrible deal from the US perspective, how does it look now after giving them their pallets of cash WITHOUT any current oversight or agreed upon limitations to their nuclear program?  If you thought Obama's administration screwed up by making the original deal, don't you have to really hate the Trump administration's alterations?

As it is today, we gave all that we gave and in return, we now have what in exchange?  Nada?  Wouldn't it have been better to keep the existing nuclear deal and to work to improve the other areas of disagreement?  Except for the satisfaction of undoing Obama's presidency, what was the advantage of tearing up the agreement?

the nuclear deal was a farce. we were only allowed to look at certain buildings and certainly not any military ones.

Some pretty good stuff, but still a nagging feeling that those were all pre-screened and approved jokes.  Those jokes are based on topics even the most insulated celebrity understands the deplorables are aware of.  Then were the screenshots of Tom Hanks, the wise statesman celebrity who does not approve.  Yeah, tell me that's not scripted

still... i don't believe we're in Kansas anymore Toto.
