No, I’m saying that the extra costs to import goods is almost always passed on to the consumer. Look at what happened during the Pandemic! If you want to specifically target China, it would make more sense, but a blanket tariff on every single nation is a disaster. There is nowhere for consumers to turn. There are serious warning signs that the dollar may fall out of being the world’s reserve currency. Then what happens?

How could a nation like Britain ever compete with China? This is just cope. Consumers bear the costs of tariffs. This is settled economics. You, like anyone who supports this policy, are anti-free market and anti-American.

Because it’s not about fixing the debt, it’s about cutting services to the poor and marginalized.
