  1. oops, sorry for the dup post. BillsGuyinMalta beat me to it.
  2. Here's the list: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/foot...me.r/index.html
  3. ...it would be great if Ralphie could make it this year. Same with Tasker or Hull. Talley too but that may be way down the road. Interesting list. Danny Boy's on the list and should be a lock to gain induction in his first year of eligibility.
  4. ...I don't view ESPN.com anymore. Their graphics take way too long to download, broadband or otherwise.
  5. He is either: (a) Jim Caviezel (Passion of the Christ) or (B) Charles Manson (you know his track record) You make the call! http://www.newsday.com (scroll down for pic)
  6. Given Boss George's track record, you're right. The PR guys are usually the first to go.
  7. ...sadly, as his HOF career is in its twilight, Jerry Rice is all about Jerry Rice. Team concept be damned. I hope the Bills shut him down again like they did in Choakland.
  8. Exactamundo. There is payback, even in the Olympics. Remember when Roy Jones got royally screwed over in Seoul when he pummeled a South Korean boxer and the Korean "won"? Turnabout is fair play.
  9. ...that was hilarious. For a few minutes last night, Yanks fans had hope as Pee-dro threw kerosene on the fire. I thought Tito had a Grady Little brainlock.
  10. Agreed. Schuerholz should be the MLB Executive of the Year and Bobby Cox the NL Manager of the Year. What a re-load those two guys did this year.
  11. There were "hiccups" in Yang Tae-young's parallel bar routine that should have been deducted, but weren't. Yang did an OK but not great routine on the high bar. Hamm absolutely nailed his parallel and high bar routines. If you ask me, Hamm won fair and square.
  12. ...the verdict is in. And it's final. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/more...ex.html?cnn=yes
  13. ..."Do not ask for whom the Bell(horn) tolls. It tolls for thee!"
  14. ...that was a Grady Little moment by Tito. What was he thinking? Lowe had thrown only 69 pitches through 6 and was sharp as a tack. I'da left him in there. Was amazing the Sox won given that Tito could not manage his way out of a paper bag in four years in Philly.
  15. ...and I repeat, BUT...The Curse has NOT been broken! Only by winning the Series will the Red Sox break The Curse forever! What a potential 2-for-1 treat for Red Sox Nation: (a) breaking The Curse, and (B) a shot at payback at their ol' buddy, Roger Clemens, provided the 'Stros win tonight's Game 7 in St. Looie. But Sox fans will always have the last four nights--and last night especially--to savor. To beat the Yanks the way they did. What gumption. And what great starting pitching by Schilling and Lowe in 6 & 7 to get it done. It should be a terrific Series. Mebbe this will be the year for Boston to break its Curse. Our Curse, namely Wide Right, still hangs over us Bills fans like a freakin' albatross. That won't be lifted until Our Heroes WIN IT ALL!
  16. Uh-oh. Pedro's warming up. Why, Tito? Keep Lowe in unless say he gives up two baserunners to start the 6th. Then go to the pen.
  17. Jim Thome's batting helmet's the same way. Loaded with pine tar. Grungy as all get out.
  18. Nothing across for Yanks in the 5th. 12 outs to go. A one-hitter for Lowe through 5. 8-1 Sox.
  19. Steiner & Sterling pointed that out. Lowe has been superb on two days rest to this point. If he can go 6, the Sox will be in really in good shape.
  20. ...Sox have stranded 5 the last two innings (loaded in the 4th, 2 on in the 5th). You can't get enough against the 'Ghees.
  21. Something I picked up in the latter stages of Game 4 and certainly in Game 5. These Yanks didn't have the killer instinct, they seemed very blase'. Perhaps the 19-8 verdict in Game 3 was the worst thing that happened to them because they thought it was going to be a 4-game walkover. Never got the "mo" back when Mo gave up that tying run in 9th in Game 4. If this score holds, it will be a modern-day Boston Massacre...in the Bronx!
  22. BF, it really IS historic. For the Sox to resurrect themselves from virtually morbidity (down 4-3 entering the 9th of Game 4) to be at this point (up 8-1 in the 4th of an improbable Game 7) is amazing. 3-up, 3-down for the Yanks. 8-1 Sox after 4. Incredible in that if the Sox get 15 more outs and win tonight, they will be the first in MLB history to come all the way back from 0-3, and the 3rd in pro sports history to achieve the feat (following '42 Leafs in the Stanley Cup finals and the '75 Islanders in the SC quarterfinals). I'm waiting for the day when some NBA team pulls this feat--that will be a first.
  23. No. And the Sox aren't off the hook either even if they win Game 7 tonight. The Curse of the Bambino will not be lifted until the Sox win it all (i.e. World Series). The Curse of Wide Right will not be lifted until the Bills win it all (i.e. Super Bowl). Those are the sad facts of life.
  24. Nah. Loaiza got out of the jam. Still 8-1 Sox after 3 1/2. 18 outs to go. Trade baserunners for outs when necessary. A couple of twin-killings wouldn't hurt, either.
  25. Loaiza got him on a K. 2 out, bags full. Millar up.
