Tennessee was on a 3 game winning streak?   They are not a bad team.

    It was a defensive battle

Its a win, so that is good. Allens run for the TD was fun.  But I am so sick of the Bills being involved in "defensive battles" when other QB's around the league are throwing for 400, 450 yards...3,4,5 TDs in a game, 60 attempts.

I’m a Raptors fan. We the North!

The Raptors should play a game in Buffalo just like the Bills did in Toronto.

I think that is the best overall solution to growing the NBA in Buffalo. The developmental league team for the Raptors should play here (if not the Arena, throw a court down in Harborcentre?  Then have the Raptors play an early season game in Buffalo (I think the Celtics still do that every year in Hartford.)

As for as a team in Buffalo by itself. No way. MAYBE if the Bills or Sabres were gone, some of that entertainment money could be shifted to an NBA team, but even then, I still don't think the support would be enough.

KB isn't worth anything.  Will probably be a FA after this year that we'll hopefully decline to sign.

IMO, trading a player chosen team captain is sending the wrong message to the rest of the team.  I think you have to hold onto him.

At this point you might be doing McCoy a favor he would want.

Does he like Buffalo and his teammates?  It does appear so. But if you gave him an opportunity to trade him to a team in the playoff race, I think he would go for it and appreciate the Bills for doing it.

I like jeremy white for the most part... but cant take the recent talk about his golf game.  I cant stand listening to anyone talking about their golf game.

I don't care if someone mentions something about their personal life or something the like. But where I agree with you is where they go on and on about it. Fantasy football also.

If you want to talk fantasy football, I'm totally fine with it. Have a segment where you bring on an 'expert' to talk about it or field questions.  Have a whole 2 hour show about it (they do that, don't they?)  But for all that is good in this world, don't go on..over and over..for days and days about your 'station fantasy draft' or whatever guillotine draft they are having.  Want to bring it up? Ok, I can deal with that even though I'm not interested, but after many mentions over many days..give it a rest.

I don’t listen to WGR in the afternoon.  I don’t mind the guys in the morning, and the noon show is fine.

    schoop is an ass.

    I agree with you.

I used to like both the morning and afternoon shows.  The only thing I hate about the morning show is they are talking more and more about fantasy football.  I know people play an are interested in that..but the outsiders/listeners don't want to hear it.

The afternoon show though..wow. I used to listen all the time, now I'm either on satelite radio or listening to 590 out of Toronto.  They usually take 8-12 minutes from the start of the show to get on the topic of the Bills or Sabres...talk TOO MUCH about their personal life and/or family, and they don't really engage with the listeners-they like to state their own point of view..and then if a caller/listener disagrees they talk down to them or their point.

I disagree with a lot of the opinions of the morning show guys..but I can listen to them. The afternoons how has just gotten unbearable at times..and sometimes uncomfortable to listen to.

  6. There isn't much to do to fix the problems short term.  Mid to long term:

-Hope Allen progresses and gets better, turns into a legit top 10 QB

-finish with a very high draft pick.  Find a taker for that pick and trade down and hopefully end up with 2 first rounders (at least one in the top 15 or better) and maybe an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder.  Stock up with picks to fill holes.

-Spend money in free agency next year SMARTLY.  No high priced, older free agents. Target guys who are under 30...that may not be stars but are quality above average players.

-Stop spending the majority of money and high picks on Defense.  Keep the defense respectable...maybe even good, but give 80%+ of your attention to making this offense a top 10 unit.

  7. I want no part of Bell.  I don't even like what the Bills are paying McCoy.  I'd much rather have my RB by committee, with lower draft picks or free agents (Murphy, Karlose Williams, guys you can find like Fred Jackson..etc), and spend those extra MILLIONS and MILLIONS of salary cap money on a couple of O-Lineman or someplace else.

I'm not saying I do not like McCoy or Bell, just I till thinking you are better off allocating that money in other places and have the RB position be a position you get by with less.

  8. Awful.  He seemed to be starting to come around and play pretty good.

Aside from the Bills, I have been having the best time watching and following the NFL the first few weeks this year...more than in the past few years for sure.  A big part of that is the great young QB play. Hate to see this happen, but for him as a person, and for the loss of a young starting QB.

  9. 1.) Most importantly, Josh Allen improving form last week and looking like he is on the way to being a star QB.  Everything else that could happen added up might not equal Allen.

2.)  D improvement.  In all honesty last year, they were an average, or below average D unit that happened to get a lot of turnovers (which made them better).  I want to see this D-unit generate more 3 and outs on a consistent basis.

3.) Some of our young players start to look like they are emerging as stars.  Kyle Williams and McCoy and Jerry Hughes are good and all, but they aren't going to be leading this team for long due to their age/injuries/deteriorating play.  I want to see some of the youngster emerge as potential stars...or at least very good starters/leaders.

4.)  2-3 guys on the OL emerge as possible long term starters?  That may be asking for a lot though.

  10. Ok, most of us know the Bills are currently lacking in star power this year..and you don't expect the players stats to be too good after 1 blowout and 1 near blowout...but I didn't expect things to look this bad after 2 games:

Bills total passing  (both QBs:) 343 yards, 1TD, 4 ints

    League leader in yards:  819

20 different QBs over 500 yards

    7 QBs over 600 yards

10 QBs with 5 tds or more

Bills leading Rusher: McCoy 61 yards

    League leader in yards: 184

23 players with over 100 yards

Bills Reception leader:  5 receptions (2 players)  89 yards

League leader in Receptions: 28. Number of players with over 10 receptions:  45

League leader in receiving yards: 275  Number of players with over 150 receiving yards: 27

Once again, this isn't a huge surprise, but the fact the numbers are SO bad, shows just how bad the Bills have been on Offense.

So what?  The kid unfortunately will likely screw up again and Belichick will show him the door

I kinda agree.  There is a CHANCE this may work out for the Pats, but I put that at well under 50%.  The Pats are taking on WRs the Browns don't want anymore, and one that the Bills got rid of pretty quick.

Also, I'm not saying that Brady can't adjust to differnet WR styles (I'm sure he can) but it seems the Pats offense is predicated on WR's that do not pay the game Gordon does.  They live on short slants, hitches, and the WR's knowing exactly what to do and being on the same page as Brady.  Cooks last year was a big time WR, downfield threat and the Pats didn't want him after just one year anymore.

All this idiot wants to talk about on a supposed Buffalo sports talk radio station is fantasy football. Who cares about your 20 teams and who you should start or trade for. This station and program is NOT all about you!!! Can't stand this moron anymore. Don't know how Bulldog sits through all this crap.

I agree.  There is a spot on the radio for a lot of fantasy football talk, but that is on one of their dedicated fantasy football hours.

If you really want to talk about fantasy football that much (and I know SOME people want to hear it), then tell us what segment, or half hour of the show you are going to do it in so I know about it in advance and can tune out.

I have defended WGR on this board many times, but that afternoon show is getting really bad, even to me.  Most of the time I can deal with the morning show, when it starts at 6am they get onto the topic of the day (sports) pretty quick.

The AFternoon show though?  I can't tell you how many times I tuned in (even on some days with a 'pretty big' sports topic occuring), only to hear those two talk about their day...what time they got up...where they drove to, who they talked to in their personal life....and by 3:12 I've had enough and either go to satelite radio or 590 out of Toronto.  It should NOT take 10 minutes of going through your personal life or recapping your daily schedule before you get to sports!

  13. -QB is an issue, but I'm not sure putting Allen in will change things all that much, and behind this line he may get injured.  It would be more fun to see Allen in there, but I'm not sure I'd start him yet.

-The D is overrated (I have been saying that in posts leading up to the regular season).  They are average at best. Not awful, but not 'good' as most on here seem to think.  They still can't generate much of a pass rush at all up front, the LB's are ok...and D-backs are slightly above average as a unit (2nd QB is a bit hole now).

The OL is awful  The BEST you can hope for in pass protection is they give the QB a second or two (someone seems to get beat on EVERY play almost) and they are average run blocking. My big concern here is...you need a FEW good players to replace what you have, and that may take more than a year to get it to where you need it.

WRs are below average across the board.  Same as OL...I'm not sure you can fix this entire position with a single draft or FA class.

I'm OK with the coaching for now.  There isn't much to work with.
