  1. It surprises me that people have such an issue with wearing seat belts. Maybe they never saw the momentum demonstration with the egg strapped down vs not strapped down.

I can understand teenage boys not wanting to seem unmanly, but adults driving without seat belts makes no sense.

I have an adult step daughter who doesn’t wear them, and doesn’t make her kids wear them. It’s just a foolish choice to make.

He did up to the pre-season just gone IIRC. I thought he perhaps decided he needed to get completely away from football after the psychological mess of last season (Araiza, supermarket shooting, trapped in Chicago, Damar) and could understand it at the time. In hindsight, it can be seen as a mistake. The upcoming post season is key - let’s see what he does with it.

The upcoming postseason? Golf in January probably.

This is incredibly kind, FiC, thank you.

It was an honor to serve, but I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to the combat vets.

They are on an entirely different level.

    Happy Veterans Day.

This is how feel as well. I was drafted during the Vietnam war, but they sent me to Germany.

The guys who saw combat are definitely on a different level. That experience can change your life dramatically.

I give thanks for those guys.

Anybody else notice Josh looking pretty teary eyed after the game..... no excuses, however, these dudes absolutely have some lingering ptsd. id bet the ambulance put a lot of these guys right back to where they were in Cinci

I do not think josh was teary eyed over an ugly win

I think they are still fatigued from that stinking trip to Europe.

Josh’s last words to the interview lady “Let’s go home”

  5. My dad served in the Navy as a sheet metal repairman in Norfolk, Virginia.

He was stationed in the states because his brother had been killed in action in the Navy.

I was drafted into the Army in the Vietnam era. By the grace of God, they sent me to Germany.

    Happy Navy Birthday!

  6. I don't know if anyone has addressed this issue, because I have not read every thread.

I place the blame for the horrible London performance on the decision makers who decided to treat this game like any other Sunday road game. They seemed to give zero consideration to the jet lag factor. It's a 3500-mile trip, some 1100 miles more than a West Coast game.

Sitting on a plane for 7-8 hours (?) is not good for athletes who would normally do things to stay limber. I think this was a factor in some of the injuries, as well as the sluggish offensive performance. I'm not a doctor of fitness expert, but this is my opinion on their travel logistics.

IMO they should have treated it like a Thursday night game, travelled a day or two sooner, and been more physically ready when game time arrived.

I don't know if McDermott or Beane was responsible for the travel timing, but I feel that they royally screwed it up. They really pi--ed me off by the way they arranged this overseas trip.

  7. I got otitis (swimmer’s ear) a few years ago, and had a tube put in one ear.

My ENT told me to keep that ear dry. I got earplugs to keep it dry in the shower, etc.

Did your ENT never mention keeping your ears dry because of the tubes? Maybe something is different for my case, but you might ask your doctor about it.

Someday, we will all finally come to understand the genius of John Elway...

Every time John Elway’s name comes up, I think of how he passed on drafting Josh Allen, and took Bradley Chubb instead.

    Not a great GM.

Might not be allowed by rule, but would love if, right as opposing kickers approach the ball, that clip of Josh pops up on the Highmark screen and he goes “HEY!” in that commanding tone.

If that is not allowed, maybe they could display the clip with no sound, but have the home crowd trained to all yell “Hey!!!”

  10. I used to work on an Army base, which requires full safety gear for motorcycle riders. Some riders would stop outside the gate and remove their helmets and carry on.

Alex Collins was involved with Irish step dancing as a hobby IIRC. I enjoyed watching his hard running style, most recently in the USFL.

    May he Rest In Peace.

  11. @Draconator, did you know that Geddy’s real name is Gary?

His mother had a thick Eastern European accent, so it came out as “Ged-dy! Ged-dy!” When she called him for dinner.

So his friends started calling him Geddy, and the name stuck.

I saw that in an interview he did, and thought it was hilarious.

That's fine, but it doesn't change their legal right to own their legacy.

But we'll see if legacy matters. The XFL has half a season worth of "legacy" to work with and I think, side-by-side with the USFL, they were the more attractive spring football league. A better TV viewing experience. Teams playing in their real home cities. They played right after the NFL so football interest was still fresh.

I enjoyed watching both the XFL and USFL seasons, but the XFL was more fun to watch.
