  1. Get a vet who has punted in the cold in the playoffs.

Need steady and reliable punts not low arcs and the possibility of a highlight-reel 80 yard punt

Does anybody have any idea what implications the State of Emergency has on the game?

One would assume it is an automatic postponement or relocation, right?

Speculation, but I think a main reason for SOE is because there is a game. Additional resources will be needed to logistically make the game happen.

  3. People will bag on politicians for declaring a SOE early, however this gives the area additional state resources to keep the roads clearer, safer, etc, therefore there is a higher possibility of both the game staying in Buffalo and fans being able to get to and from the game.

This is not your average lake effect event.

Mine says 6" Saturday but most of that looks like it's really Friday night, so it could be cleared Saturday... but then again Saturday shows 55mph wind gusts... so who knows where the snow will actually end up... The accuweather link above shows even worse weather for Orchard Park https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/orchard-park/14127/daily-weather-forecast/2128285?day=3

With all due respect I really don’t think that’s the issue. I believe the consideration is that of general public safety, not home field advantage.

    Not sure I implied differently.

IMO, it would make the game a home game for the Steelers and the Bills would lose their home field advantage.

With all due respect, if you followed this thread I've been giving caution to the general public about this weather event since... the very first post.

My news feed says there’s serious talk about moving the game to Cleveland. Are they saying the same back in WNY?

That report has been shot down, however that was prior to the forecast that came out this morning.

IMO, it would make the game a home game for the Steelers and the Bills would lose their home field advantage.

Steelers fans will be able to travel safely to Cleveland without a worry about the storm.

Bills fans would need to drive through the storm to get to Cleveland.

Keep in mind this is from Saturday afternoon through the night Sunday however....

    • The snow band will shift and not everywhere on this map (really focusing on WNY here) will be affected at the same time
    • It is going to be windy as all hell, though, so there's a chance everywhere on this map may have white out conditions even if it is not currently snowing
    • A majority of the people who travel to the game live within that dark red zone
    • Orchard Park is right about where the .2" is on the 22.2" mark below Buffalo

  8. I don’t think the game will get moved but there will likely be local driving bans all over on Sunday. This has me thinking…

What’s the protocol if there is a driving ban in Orchard Park that is enacted Sunday morning?

I can’t recall there ever being a driving ban at the same time as a game.
