Bro, how many picks did he throw in that half? I’d rather have Naaman Roosevelt play QB than Peterman ?. If I were HC I would’ve cut him and then had a turk hold his head under my ass so I can show him his replays.

Seriously tho, how hard were you laughing when you typed this up? Are you Nathan Peterman?

Think I'll lurk around here and see if you come up with anything useful to add to the conversation (or are we just going to get more one liners).

Not even close to first. We hear it every year all through the off-season. And the first was a month or two ago from some other benign nut.

Every year the Pats are over and the Bills have arrived till the season starts.

But it is indeed more than confidence. It's well past that into wackiness.

And yet, one day it will come to pass. Not sure I'll be alive to see it, but it's coming. My fervent wish is that it happens because they finally are just plain bad, not because marsha and bellyboy retire or injuries mount up. Just plain suckitude. I want them all on board the cheatriot train when it runs off the rails.

I mean Allen is bigger and has a stronger arm than Tyrod. So was Jamarcus Russell.

Tyrod was actually a pretty good deep passer, probably the best thing he did throwing.  Again, I was ready for a change at qb.  But I wanna honk they picked the wrong guy.  I pray they prove me wrong.

By the time the Bills were on the clock it was down to Rosen and Allen. Too bad we'll never get the real reasons for who they went with.

    An agenda?  Who me?

I know what the topic is and who Rob meant.

If you want to say that the mention of giving all young QBs a chance and INTs are expected then it should apply to all young players.   Otherwise one would be hypocritical.

Nate is a 5th round pick and in as much not expected to be a super star.

As crappy as the Chargers game was, in other games Nate at least looked the part dropping back and passing and not playing sandlot football.

If there is an agenda here it may be the Tyrod crowd still complaining he got dumped.

This is the hallmark of being a Bills fan. There are probably still folks out there saying Johnson over Flutie was the right call.

Why do people believe in Peterman? It’s an honest question? He was historically bad and was a 5th round pick for a reason. People hated Fitz, Orton, and Tyrod who were all decent and swear by Peterman. It is so strange. We are the only fan base in the world that prefers scrubs to decent. That is unique to Bills fans.

A couple of things,  First, nobody getting to the pros is a "scrub". There are wildly divergent levels of ability, but all have something that got them there. Second, watching someone under center who could read a defense, go through his progressions and throw a WR open has become a novelty. Third, seeing a QB willing to actually throw the ball was like a breath of fresh air. After the clown show of the past three years at QB I'll take any of the three QBs we have right now. All we know for sure is there will be an uptick in QB play from here on out. Allen is the odds on favorite, long term, but for this year Nate has as good a chance as anyone.

The best player comparison for Josh Rosen is Eli Manning. We are just talking on field play here. Pro ready, plug and play type player. He will throw for a bunch of yards and touchdowns. Rosen Will also get sacked a lot and throw a bunch of picks. If you build a solid offensive line and very good defense you can win, maybe even a Super Bowl with some luck. If you have holes, your team will win 6-7 games.

If we get Rosen, we are not getting one the best quarterbacks in the NFL. Why? Mobility. He lacks mobility but still has a gunslinger mentality and he has a propensity to stick throws in dangerous areas or up for grabs when pressured. The NFL game has changed and mobility is important. A qb does not have to have Tyrod Taylor like mobility but a player with at least Alex Smith/Aaron Rodgers is preferred. The ability to escape danger to make a play downfield is often needed. So, from a football perspective I have concerns about buying into a quarterback with limited mobility in a changing NFL. You may counter with, what about Brady. In order to think that will happen, i have to think that Rosen will develop into a precision passer who works the shorter routes. He would have to repress his gunslinger mentality, which is who Rosen is. This is unlikely to happen.

And we have not talked about the possible character issues and more importantly the durability issues. Both of which Eli did not have and Rosen does. In the end, Rosen is a tough evaluation. His lack of mobility goes against a changing NFL game but he should still be pretty good like Eli, provided he stays healthy.

I would not trade up for this type of player but I would take him if he fell to 12. Maybe move up to 10. Rosen, like Eli Manning, will not be able to carry a team and he will need as many good players around him to have success. We need those draft picks to turn into good players.

Soooo... whatchagonnado???? Darnold gone 1st, all the rest have equal or worse warts than Rosen and we are sitting with McCarron and Peterman.

  7. Starting in the preseason I said this team felt different. There's no logical reason for them to be here, except this is a different Bills team. Different mind set, different motivation and most of all different coaching. They should get stomped today, but they won't. Should be the same old Dennison, but it won't be. Same old Tyrod, but he'll throw for yards today. They're just different. I really think they win.

You are a joke. I remember after 5 pick Nate you came here and was apologizing and telling us you were wrong.  Then something funny happened.  Other people agreed with starting Nate for that game.  Now you change your tune because you weren't embarrassed.  You should be embarrassed now with all the Bills trash talk and Miami pumping you did all season.

And please stop telling us about your contacts and business meetings.  You cant be more than 15 years old.

Sadly, savior is a lot older than 15. He was around BBMB for years as Savioredwards

And yes the 18 year curse was lifted.

The Bills won the tie-breakers and we're in the playoffs with the best possible first round opponent (something I predicted btw).

The point is (and I keep repeating) is that this is pretty much the same records as 2014-2016, so quit thinking this coaching staff & HO turned water into wine.

What it did do was create such low expectations that some consider it a miracle.

What was miraculous was winning 6 games where the opposition had the ball at the end of the game with a chance to win & the Bills winning each and every time.

I am as excited as anyone that they are in the playoffs and planning my Sunday, but I am not getting ahead of myself and anointing this coaching staff as an all time great.

However I am a fan and don't get stuck on the minutiae wrt to drafts, schemes and philosophy.

It is quite simple for us fans.  If a team is 8-8 for 3 seasons in a row, you look at it and say 2 more wins and you're in the playoffs.  I look at the skill positions and how they are utilized (and yes was pissed at Watkins, the trade and not targeting him enough).  I thought better coaching and tweaks to properly utilize Taylor and we'd see a huge improvement.

On the defensive side, it did not take much to see that they were undisciplined, took way too many penalties, and disorganized under Rex, which could be fixed easily to the point they would be competent.

So as said I will be here and cheering Sunday & hopefully beyond & will leave shortly thereafter while you argue about the draft, personnel moves & free agency.

I will return when Sammy signs and when a decision is made on Tyrod.

Again would we fans be so excited if they went 8-8, or 8-7-1 (as McDermott tried vs. Indy) and no playoffs.

It is the Playoffs that has created this euphoria, not a record that matches those the prior 3 years......

    Flame away!!!!!

Apparently somebody pissed in your cheerios this morning. What happened did McDermott's cousin stand up your sistyugler for a date or something???

  10. 10 minutes ago, BuffaloDave55 said:

No worries... If Cousins becomes a free-agent he will select the team.  Regardless, of where he goes he'll get paid.  It wouldn't be like Buffalo would offer him millions more.  So if your Cousins your going to select a team based on things like... defense, offensive line, weather, caliber of team (now and near future).  He won't select Buffalo.

Excellent! This would mean we dodge this bullet. NO   MORE   RETREADS

  11. The cheaters* already have too much film on taylor's style of play. Tyrod has to evolve right from the get go and take chances throwing downfield. Then the D needs to be in marsha's grill all day long. I have little faith either of these things happen, but if they do the Bills walk out of patsieland with the biggest win of the century and well on their way to relevancy.

  12. McDermott will want to use his draft picks to fix the deficiencies at OL and on defense so no moving up for a QB. They'll probably use our first round one pick on the best QB available and start Nate. Where they go from there depends on Peterman's performance and the rook's development. And I'm OK with that.

  13. I think I understand the OPs point. There will always be games where a shootout is unavoidable. The D has an off day, the opponent is a prolific scoring team or like this Sunday with the patsies*** they're just a dominant foe. Turnovers happen, weather happens, stuff happens. The ability to match your opponent WHEN THE NEED ARRISES is mandatory. I'm hoping the unspoken point he makes is about points, not yards.

If Tyrod starts today it’s a gaurenteed loss. Taylor no longer has the ability to win. His confidence has been shredded over all his horrendous performance this year. He is the least capable qb on this roster .

Which would leave you with Webb at QB and quite frankly, maybe not a bad idea. But the truth is it's Twoyard "one moe time" and it all happens with the season on the line. There's just no way to catch a break as a Bills fan.

You just proved, in that single statement, that you don't get probability at all.

Given the NFL format, it's probable that some(mathematical use here) teams are going to have long playoff droughts, as it is probable that some teams are going to have long playoff runs. While, it's just as probable that some teams will stay "in the hunt" meaning 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 for long periods of time. In fact, "in the hunt" is more probable than anything else, because of a widely accepted statistical tenet: regression towards the mean. Go do some research and find out how often the Bills have deviated from the 7-9 wins mode over the 17 years. Not often. So, the Bills are actually doing the MOST probable thing of any team.

During the 17 years...the Seahawks made the playoffs with a 7-9 record. That's an anomaly, but it is true. Meanwhile, we've had an outlying but, no less dependent variable, in our division, the Patriots, who by definition have reduced our chances of making the playoffs, by making it themselves...for 16 of 17 years, with the miss year posting an 11-5 record.

The Bills have produced teams that would have made the playoffs if they were in other AFC divisions, and certainly in the NFC, for the last 17 years. This is a matter of fact, not opinion. In fact the Bills not making the playoffs is a statistical outlier, just like them getting never getting 0 wins, and/or being 4-12, that cannot be defined solely by the Bills themselves. Outside variables are obviously in play, which, is to be expected, again, given the NFL model. The Pats being good, our dominance over Miami...these are the are the unusual variables that keep us "in the hunt" == never good, and never bad.

Example: This year the Bills are IN the BEST AFC Division, East(.539 win %[all % rounded up])

playing the BEST NFC division, South(.577)

playing the 2nd BEST AFC division, West(.477)

It's highly improbable that the Bills have a winning record, but they do: fact.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars are IN the 2nd WORST AFC Division, South(.457),

playing the WORST AFC Division, North(.442)

playing 2nd WORST NFC Division(.500), West.

It's highly probable that they should be the #1 seed, but they aren't: fact.

These facts confront you: what will you do with them? Turtle? Call me crazy again? Or will you realize that math...is math, and, even under pressure, regression towards the mean, in this case, dragging the Bills up from expectation, and Jags, down, is how math works? Do you understand that a 4-12 record is much less probable, than an 8-8 record, yet? Thus, do you understand that "knowing" the Bills are a 4-6 win team, before they've even played a single game...is silly, when we actually know that EVERY team is most likely to be a 7-9 win team when the season is done?

EDIT: Best of all, you could go do research and realize that in a 3 way tie...strength of schedule favors us for the rest of the season.

And this, children, is why I tell you to just say "NO" to drugs.

  16. What I saw was a Miami QB capable of throwing the ball downfield into tight windows and consistently moving the chains. Miami is no powerhouse but showed McDermott the blueprint for defeating the patsies***. Hit old man marsha early and often and play solid pass defense.

The pats*** have to face a pissed off Steeler team and Orchard Park is a long way from sunny Miami in December. That Steeler defense could easily put marsha on the shelf for the rest of the year and Cutler will be the same ole Smokin Joe on the frozen turf at New Era. It's not probable, but it's been a long time since the Bills have been where they are right now. Enjoy the ride gentleman.

Either way, Peterman has made a couple of plays in his time with Buffalo.  He also lost his mind and became a turnover machine.  I don't want a turnover machine playing QB.

He was given a shot, and played his way out of the lineup.  He'll likely get another one this year or next.

sure fire way for defensive ends to pad sack stats, inability to audible, the list goes on.

Two of Peterman's picks were on him, the rest not so much especially considering our OL wasn't doing him any favors against a monster DL. Taylor never would have thrown those picks, he doesn't throw the ball, but I guaran dam tee you he would have been sacked half a dozen times.
