So of the issues in the game this is your solution.

The Bills took care of the root cause yesterday.

You are going to eat those words.  Tyrod was by far the best QB we've had since Jimbo. No doubt.  Cleveland is going to the playoffs with TT.  Got to get rid of Schmidt.  We need an  upgrade now.    He lost us that game.

  2. I'm not saying that QB is not the most important position.  What I am saying is there is not enough talk about the game changer on defense.  JJ Watt is a great example.  Khalil Mack is another.  Suh was an animal.  I'd also like to add that (forget Maybin) the odds on a stud defender working out are WAY better than a QB.  Just look at the long line of loser first round QB's like Couch, Manziel, Barkely, etc.

  3. The most common threads on TBD is about which quarterbacks to dump or obtain.  Almost all note that the last great QB we had was Kelly ~ 20 years ago.  Seems to me there should be at least a little more talk about getting a game changing stud on defense.  We have not had one since Bruce Smith - also 20 years ago.  Why haven't we been able to draft another one?  Failed at that too.

    Personal life[edit]

His brother, Vince Williams played college football at Florida State and is currently a linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers.[27][28]

Williams has six children: two daughters, Kylie and Kota, and four sons, Karlos Jr., Kobi, Kason, and Korri. His youngest son, Kason, was diagnosed with Hirschsprung's disease in early 2017.

If they gave up 6 1sts or signed him as an UDFA how does that relate to, “it doesn't matter how great a receiver is when his talents can't be fulfilled because of the caliber of qb/s he is playing with?”

That statement says that a QB will ultimately propel or hold back a WR. That isn’t the case with Hopkins and Gordon. They excelled with horrendous QBs (not even average ones). Josh Gordon had over 1,600 yards with Brandon Weeden, Jason Campbell and Brian Hoyer. Hopkins had Osweiler and Savage. Great WRs are great regardless of the QB.

Good point.  Fitzpatrick and the entire Jets receiving corps.

"To all the people that have a problem with me being injured you guys go out there and play this sport it’s a 100% injury rate,” Watkins wrote. “I’m not first or last person that’s gone be injured difference from me and you guys y’all mad and I’m not get a life and goto work stop worrying about my job because I’m good on this end and forever will be losers most of you just wish to be in this position so continue working y’all little jobs for the rest of y’all lives since everyone once a response here go one have a blessed day.”

Watkins later posted, then deleted, a clarification on Twitter: “Message wasn’t for fans for whomever have a problem with athletes being injured.”

When you cut out that part it looks far worse than it was. Not a great look. Awkward, looked small, should never have been posted. But also not a big deal.

I'd bring him back solely for his eloquence and grammar.

Salary cap or not Schmidt needs to go.  Lost the season for us in Jax with awful punting.

Broncos get a proven number 1 QB with potentially 10 years left in him and our two first rounders and another high pick this year or next and we get a very good college QB who might never pan out.  Sorry.  Broncos cap situation not that different than ours.  This is ridiculous.  Look at all the first round QB's that have sucked. Any GM who makes that deal should be power-slammed onto a burning table.

Buffalo: Josh Rosen. The musical chairs are getting scarce. This could be a McCarron, Keenum or Bradford spot too. If Denver gets Cousins, I could see Elway dealing his one (fifth overall) for Buffalo’s two first-round picks (21, 22) and another high pick this year or next—I could see Tampa Bay, Chicago, Oakland and San Francisco at seven through 10 in round one doing the same—to allow Buffalo to jump up and get a good quarterback prospect.

It stemmed from a conversation last week on the role of an analytics person. I argued that it matters zero that they know football. It matters a lot that they know analytics.

Analytics should be, and are, used in all aspects of sport. They are a giant piece to the puzzle. They just aren’t the only piece. All of these different pieces of information (scouting reports, numbers, coach feedback,  interview, etc...) are compiled and decisions are made. You need to factor in EVERYTHING not some things. That’s what every good team does. The more information that you have the better.

I think you are partially correct.  But I think you do need to have some football knowledge.  If you are a pencil-neck-geek and think the temperature of the toilet bowl water at NEF can be an indicator of wins and losses then you are probably not cut out for the job.
