Allen was bad yesterday. I haven't rewatched any of the game, but just from the broadcast it seemed pretty clear that he was having a hard time understanding the defense and was holding onto the ball too long as a result. That doesn't concern me in the slightest -- this sort of thing happens when a young QB goes up against a Belichick defense. He'll improve with experience in this area.
I am getting concerned about two things though. The first is that he keeps making the same ugly interceptions over and over by rolling to his right and throwing back across his body. He knows that he shouldn't do this because he says so after games, but he keeps doing it anyway. I don't pretend to know whether this is a maturity issue, a coaching issue, or what, but it's undeniably a problem. The second cause for concern is the way he mopes on the sideline after making a mistake and the way he seems to be rattled when he comes back onto the field. Again, maybe it's just the immaturity of a young player, but they guy needs to grow some thicker skin.
These are things that I've observed over the first four games of the season. No reason to overreact to one bad game against New England, but the decision-making needs to improve.

The Titans are not a pushover. Yes, this is a game that we should probably win, but it is also a game that we could easily lose if the ball bounces against us even a little bit. I do not like our chances if Allen can't go.

This is a huge game. We need Allen back. Or at least Singletary.

Best OC we've had since Marchibroda. Seriously, though that's not really saying a lot.

The punter has not been bad before this game was he?
He played well the first three games, but everyone wanted Bojo gone in the preseason because we viewed him as a liability.

I don't think it would be overreacting to say that Dawkins looks very shaky at tackle. It's not just in today's game either. I think there may be legitimate concerns about Allens pocket awareness and decision making process at this point of his career.
Yes, I agree. Both tackle positions are still very questionable, and Allen certainly did not handle pressure well today.

I mean, everybody understands that New England's offense doesn't suck, despite what they did today. Not sure why we're all freaking out over our own offense right now.

What lost them the game is really a lack of talent on offense. We still find the Bills in this state. That has to change for next season for sure or I will start to question Beane's skills.
Our offense was an abomination last year. It has improved to average this year. NE's defense is going to make average offenses look terrible.
People are wildly overreacting to one game against the best defense in the league.

I very strongly agree with the 4th and goal call. Our offense had all sorts of problems moving the ball all day. One play to take the lead? Yes please.

Nothing against Barkley, but we need 17 back for next week. And Singletary. This is a very important game.

I still like going for it on 4th and goal. If we scored a TD there do we win? With all the insane mistakes that is how close this game was.
I strongly agree with the decision to go for it on 4th down. That was our best chance to win the game.

Brady threw an interception in the end zone.
If Josh Allen had thrown that pass, we would never hear the end of it.

Allen had a rough day, but I wish he had been available in the fourth quarter. I would have loved to have seen if he could make something (good) happen there.

It's being used now by the NFL as an example of when to eject a player.
Watch the video....

But of course Gronk wasn't actually ejected or even penalized on this play, so . . . .

About a 2, maybe a 3. The Bills are capable of winning this game if they bring their A-game for all four quarters. That's a lot to ask for such a young team, though, and I think New England's talent advantage gives them the win.

In chronological order:
1990
1991
1992
1993
2017
Maybe it's just me being nostalgic, but the SB teams had real personality to them. Not always in the most positive way of course ("bickering Bills"), but people like Kelly, Thurman, Talley, Bruce, Marv, etc. were larger-than-life characters at times. That made those teams lots of fun to follow and cheer for. So many teams during the drought seemed like cardboard cutouts by way of comparison.

7-point dogs win about 25% of the time. Honestly, I'm not sure that the Bills actually win this game one time out of four, but it's not that far off. The line seems about right to me.
The Bills are way, way better than last year's team. We seem to be pretty clearly on the right trajectory with an improving QB we can build around, solid performers at each position, and lots of youth. There are all sorts of reason to be optimistic about the 2019 season and the years beyond. That doesn't imply that we are in the same tier as New England (or Kansas City for that matter).

No offense to anybody but it never stops to confuse me why so many people do not understand simple concept that the game would go totally different in case that we were kicking. Every single snap would be different. It might have had same outcome, but only as a result of completely different actions.
Just to be clear - I am not questioning McD's decision. Quite the opposite, I really like it, and I really think it helped us overall.
But if anybody thinks that if we made different decision (PAT) at the beginning of the game it wouldn't change anything and it would be 20-17 (instead of 21-17) after Gore's TD with 3 mins left they are completely wrong.
What specifically do you think would have happened differently? I can't really come up with anything that would NOT have the score 20-17 for Cincinnati's final drive. (Obviously that drive might go way differently if the offense had the option of attempting a game-tying FG instead of needing the TD).

On defense its not quite the opposite but close. Both CIN and NYG have scoring lows vs the Bills D. While NYJ have their high vs. The Bills D. However, Bills have not held a team under 14 this season.
The defense only allowed 8 points to the Jets. And you can't really compare Week 1 NYJ to Weeks 2 and 3 NYJ.

The write-up on McDermott seems about right IMO. He came into the season with a pretty secure grip on his job and a team trending in the right direction. 2019 is not playoffs-or-bust; the team just needs to show further improvement and Allen needs to develop. That all seems to be happening over the first three games.
I mean, if the Bills had started 0-3 and Allen looked to be regressing, McDermott's seat would at least be getting a little warm, right? (Counter-factual, obviously).

They either will, or they won't, so it's 50-50.

I’m not so much looking ahead but if we do lose to NE, next weeks game is probably going to be our biggest game of the year @ Tennessee. The titans game is a must win it sets us up for tie breaker scenarios in the AFC to make the playoffs. So no matter what happens this Sunday, next week in Nashville will be make or break IMO!
I've been thinking the exact same thing for the past couple of weeks. Tennessee is a team that we should probably beat, but it's going to be a tough road test. In some ways, it's a bigger game than this week's.
Have You Started To Lose Faith in Josh Allen?

This one actually didn't bother me at all. A guy with Allen's experience level is going to mis-read the coverage occasionally. I don't see that as a cause for worry.
The other interceptions were on passes that Allen knows better than to attempt, but he attempted them anyway.
