We have a ton of holes on this team and were going into Day 2 with only 1 late pick?

It's really mind boggling. I think it would've made much more sense to trade DOWN at 22 and pick up more draft picks.

Does this regime even now what the hell they're doing?

Holes, holes, holes...  20 years of this flawed thinking is enough.  We quite possibly just filled the most gaping damn hole we've had on this team since Kelly retired!  Let it go, sit back and enjoy the ride!  If we suck this year, it just means we'll have good draft position next year in a draft with no real QB prospects and we'll have more money than god to use in the free agency to plug the "holes".

  2. 20 years of QB suck for this franchise, and still there are people that would rather "fill other positions of need and let another second-rate QB fall to us possibly" in a draft with this much QB talent.  Give the entire draft away and next years as well if you have identified a guy that you feel confident can be your starting QB for the next 15 years.  Lock up the MOST important position on the field and then build the supporting cast.

  3. Again, completely astounding how delusional so many posters on this board are by even THINKING of staying put at #12 in a once in a decade draft for QB talent, for a team that has desperately needed help at that position for 20 years, and so much draft capital to work with.  You're right, lets stay put and hope another read-n-run QB falls to us, or better yet, lets get a LB/OL/WR.  Makes perfect sense.  Sh*t, while we're at it lets get really creative and draft a kicker high in the 2nd round as well.

But is that a Million dollar Jackpot or a $100 jackpot?

No Qb in this draft is a lock to be Manning/Luck/Brady/Brees

its more likely they could all max out as the next Winston or Marriotta

Are you happy giving up almost the entire first half of your draft to move up to get Winston, Marriotta, Bortles or Trubisky?

Just because the QB is the best QB in his draft class it doesn't mean they are worth mortgaging the future over.

Just because the Bills haven't had a franchise QB in a long time and just like every other team, wants one, doesn't mean giving up a boatload of picks to get one this year will mean they have some force to be reckoned with at QB for 10-15 years

No way to tell but this is the best shot we've had in a VERY long time

No QB is EVER a lock

I would give up ALL the draft picks to secure the only position this team hasn't been proficient at in 20 years

    Time to try something new

QBs are not allowed to get injured?

    Really?...

I think many of you don't understand the gravity of the Jets trade up to 3.  The 2 isn't available.  The Giants are keeping it and taking a QB.  Eli is just about toast.  The 2019 QB draft class is TRASH.  There is no way to know where the Giants will pick next year etc.  The Giants are NOT one draft pick away from winning anything.  The best thing they can do with the pick they have is get the NEXT franchise QB.  They are hard to find.  You don't pass them when you can get them and you need one.  The 2 is not available.  1. Cleveland Darnold. 2. Giants Rosen. 3 Jets Mayfield.  Bills trade up to 9 with San Francisco to fend off the Arizona Cardinals and your next franchise QB in Buffalo will in fact be Josh Allen.

The #2 not being available is pure speculation as is all the thinking at this point.

Oh gawd, another running QB who should be a receiver.  We just went through that...

You really think Mayfield isn’t the same? He’s barely 6’0

Do you even know who Baker Mayfield is?!?!  And what does his height have to do with Jackson being a running QB that some think should be a WR?

  7. I really don't understand all of this nonsense with people here wanting to sandbag our picks to "fill other positions of need"...  That has been the philosophy of this bumbling organization for 20 years and look how well that has worked out!  I often wonder if these same fans calling for this bulls**t have even watched the bills over the last 20 years, and if they have they should probably not admit to it.

There is no position in football that is harder to fill than the QB position.  If there is ever a "good" potential of snagging a franchise QB you absolutely sell the entire f***ing farm, the dog and maybe even a sibling or two for that chance.  If it pays off, think of all the HIGH draft picks you're going to save over the next 8-10 years!  If it does't, at least you can take solace in the fact that you tried and we don't end up watching another team blast off with the QB we were going to let "fall" to us at #12 pick overall.

Bottom line: All of the other positions of need or "holes" on this roster can be filled much easier via free agency, trade or future draft picks.

There's no question that this draft class is special when it comes to potential signal callers...  Another opportunity like this may not show again for years to come.  Takes THOSE miserable draft years to plug the f***ing roster holes.

There is no advantage for the Bills in waiting. Literally zero. The sooner the better and cheaper. Do it today before a team like Miami or Denver gets there. Then we are done. There is no possible reason to wait.

There absolutely is a reason to wait.  Say they already have a gentlemens agreement with the Giants that depends on what the Browns do at #1?!

At this point I suspect Beane has already secured the #2 pick from the giants and he just hasn't made it official.  If not...  At least I'll be saving an a**load of cash I would have otherwise spent on the ticket again this year.

I hope you’re right about securing the #2. The latter part, not so much. This is a talented QB class. Next seasons class will be nowhere close to this one in talent. Beane would simply be saving cash for a team who will be firing him soon, if he doesn’t get a QB this season.

I was talking about ME saving an a**load of cash by not paying for NFL Sunday Ticket :)

First of all, I'll preface by saying that I've been down with The Process from the beginning.  I got it .. and I get it.

I understood getting rid of Watkins and Woods .. and letting Gillislee walk (to Boston).   But the purge continues with Glenn - our best offensive lineman - and now rumors are swirling about Hughes.

I love stockpiling draft picks, but you can't build a team on potential.  And even if they draft well, in three years, we won't be able to afford anyone.

I feel like he's going rogue and even if we end up with the golden boy QB, we won't be able to surround him with anything but rookies.

    Gugny,

Status quo has worked so well for this team for the last 20 years...  I'm sorry for the sarcasm, I mean no disrespect at all, but I am elated that someone has finally come in here and blown this place up.  Wouldn't it be fantastic to finally solidify the most important position (and neglected in this organization since Kelly) in football?!  Buffalo has been masterful in building all other aspects for the better part of a couple decades and it's gotten us a perpetual ticket to mediocrity.  Continuing to finish in the middle of the pack has left us with virtually NO opportunity to land a QB in the draft, which is where we would all like to think is the best place to find one right?;  with the best upside and longevity and not break the bank anyway.

Who knows if this is the right approach, but it's different than what we've experienced in a very long time.  That in itself makes this worth the ride in my humble and uninformed opinion.

  11. Hell yes Mayfield is worth it.  I'm so tired of watching this team neglect the most important position in football sighting the same bull**** every time.  The "We have other positions of need" draft strategy is tired, old and hasn't worked worth a **** for us since Kelly retired.
