Agreed. An even more controversial opinion I hold, military service, even combat service, doesn't automatically make you a hero. Not saying the military never does anything heroic, but just being in the military shouldn't automatically gain you hero status. Our nation, especially after 9/11, has had a problem with military hero worship.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think we should go back to the days of Vietnam where people spit on soldiers and called them baby killers. But I think in an effort to right that wrong, we drove into the other ditch.
Truth. Someone made the point earlier that most of these "heroes" signed up because they had no other prospects. They did their time, moved cars around in the motor pool for a couple of years and got out. Additionally, 8 year old girls who start a lemonade stand and give the money to a charity upon their parents urges are NOT heroes. It's a noble effort, but NOT heroic.

The term "hero" is vastly overused nowadays

College has become a huge business.
College dose not make everyone smarter.
50% of people that go are wasting time and large amounts of money.
Just my opinion.
sometimes it DOSE make some people smarter

Do organizations like the News, ESPN, the Athletic, etc. have rules that mandate their reporters be accessible via social media and/or email? If not, maybe the solution for writers is to simply not participate on Twitter or provide email addresses for comments. This of course does not excuse people being complete morons on social media, but if you are a reporter and open yourself to comments from readers you have to expect some negative comments back towards your writing.
As a member of the media (behind the scenes), I can tell you this is a VERY important part of the job nowadays ...

It's called being a fan ... I'm sure Cubs fans weren't embarrassed before they won a Series. I think there's bigger fish to fry in life ...

The Bengals ... where shi**y or oft injured linemen go to complete their career destruction

What is LOL? He should have been coach of the year.
His playoff "effort" against the Patriots should quell that nonsense

Ross Tucker was on WGR last night raving about Buffalo. #1 place he played out of 5 teams because of the fans and the gameday experience. (Sidebar-Reasons to keep stadium in OP)
He also said he was fine with keggers at Bledsoe's house ... I know craft beers and wings are heaven to most Buffalo folk, but it's not what young African American millionaires are into, I'm guessing

Just a guy ... not a difference maker. Hoping these aren't the kind of signings we needed to purge the roster for last season

I looked at that quickly, and actually had to make sure ‘TWD’ didn’t stand for Two Bills Drive...?
It might fit just as well ?

Two Broke Girls would have been off the air after two episodes if guys were not obsessed with the dark haired girl's bosoms.
It's the ONLY redeeming value

TWD is currently in that grouping ... for God sake, find the cure or just kill everybody

Dexter - should have ended after the Trinity Killer in season 3,
Shameless -it is painful to watch now, even though it has a fantastic cast, just awful writing
Nurse Jackie - it wasn't horrible at the end, but it just got sort of repetitive, should have ended a season earlier
Weeds- Really liked it, until they went to Mexico, season 5 I think...the last 3 seasons were terrible
Homeland- could have ended after 2 seasons
Others:
The Walking Dead: had the uncanny ability to make you keep watching, even though it was, in truth, never very good. It seemed like you were always waiting for it to get better, and they made it seemed like it would...but it was just the same thing, over and over....terrible show. Stopped watching during the first Neegan season. Horrible, lazy writing....
Just started season five of "Ray Donovan" ... still strong IMO

Not a signing that will make the heart beat faster BUT the run game was/is abysmal, and the dude can block (we know Croom can't) so if the price is right? Git 'er dun

He’s only the second best ILB in the league. And he’s relatively young . A perfect fit for our defense by moving Edmunds outside.
Agreed. As well as TE played inside (at times), I believe he is miscast as a MLB and would be FAR more effective outside

If not for that horrific season when they went to Ireland, I would say Sons of Anarchy. That season was just tuuuuurible!
agreed .... almost gave up on it during that time, but I'm glad I didn't! Finished in epically great fashion
Right now binging on Showtime's "Ray Donovan" ... definitely worthy entry

Easy ... I was born outside Chicago. I grew up in Chicago. I took the train downtown as a young lad to watch the Bears with my old man. I've lived in BLo the past 38 years, so yea, I'm a Bills fan first, but I still have a warm place in my heart for Da Bears. If that's an issue to someone, I would suggest that they are wound just a bit too tightly regarding their fandom

That kind of behavior doesn’t lead to wins and it has to make you question whether he’s embracing Buffalo and the blue collar culture associated with the area.

It’s concerning that instead of studying film and working on his fundamentals he’s chosen to get drunk and flirt with some groupie.
If you were a rookie QB in the off season, you'd be flirting with every groupie you could find ... spare me the sanctimonious BS

I take it you've not visited those cities .... I know for a fact the last two are light years beyond Buffalo in terms of night life
