  1. I watched alot of Spector at Clemson and he was alot like Metakavich was at Temple, but with more speed. Vocal leader who is undersized but instinctual and fast. He made the defense work for his final two years there and kept improving.

Because Superbowl is 4 weeks before free agency opens. That isn't enough time to interview, shortlist and hire a coach. Then hire a staff. Then assess the entire roster. Then try and extend our own FAs. Then try and assess the FA market and work out who you want to target. You would have to put FA back at LEAST two weeks. Then you probably need to move the draft back into mid-May. The one year we went to early May the feeling was it squeezed rookie mini-camps and ate into the one month of true break that coaches and personnel guys get mid-June to mid-July.

The schedule doesn't work unless the league is willing to lose something totally. If it agreed to totally lose pre-season you could fit it all in and move camp back to start of August. But they are not going to do that.

Great insight on why it's set up this way.

I agree that I'd like to see it change now that we are good and in the playoffs every year. Plus our coordinators are usually indemand as well for an interview, so we get the short end of the stick.

  3. The guy who went down with the knee injury in the middle probably could have had him, but good for Harty to recognize that he had room to work. At the stadium, fins fans all lost it when it happened. How many times did we see it when Crossman was our ST coach, too?

I think Tua, Lamar, and Mahomes gets in ahead of Josh because of the bs turnover narrative.

Tua and Lamar have earned it over Josh this year, imo. Josh has been limited by our offensive coordinators and it may have cost him the MVP, although I don't think he actually cares about it.

  5. Draft high, and draft them often. Gabe is gone, Diggs will be soon as well. Shakir is proving to be a reliable target, but I think he is also the guy that the other team says 'Let Shakir beat us' instead of Diggs/Kincaid/Cook. Shakir doesn't have that extra wiggle to make him anything other than a solid, reliable target against zone.

Thinking more about it, it also explains the horrible WR screens.  They're running them to Diggs trying to get him touches but if he's not right and can't cut and make guys miss it would explain why he's not doing much with them.

It's a way to keep other teams honest and show them that they still need to pay attention to him. Unfortunately, it's not working that great. Someone else pointed out that against the chargers, there were multiple times when it was Stef vs a safety 1v1 and he was covered with no problem on his route. That allows a team to spy Allen and Cook out of the backfield, or more attention on Kincaid.

His best timeout of the season was this weekend when they were in shotgun on 3rd and 1.  You know he talked to Josh and said "whatever Brady called, ignore it.  Get it yourself"

He also said something to Stef in that timeout. Maybe to throw off the Pats, or because he's a captain too, but he was intentional in finding him and talking to him at that timeout.

Though the Bills need an OC who can sit down with Josh and mentally beat that into him. They haven't had one to date.

My thoughts, too. We need a qualified OC who can put together a playbook in the offseason. The rancid Dorsey playbook that Brady is working with doesn't cut it when teams see tendencies. We saw it with Dorsey, and we are now seeing it with Brady.

Hopefully Josh can play superman for the next month and will us to a Lombardi trophy, despite the stiffled offense this year and half of last year.

  9. Diggs looks hurt. His cuts are rounded off, and has little separation.

The short passes on the bubble screens are Brady trying to get him an easy one. But that's not really what Diggs does. The rush today, and the quick throw to the left was another example of trying to get him going. The long pass to him over the top today looked like he was running fast, but not sprinting.

I think he's got a lingering injury where he can go, but can't cut like he could in the early part of the year.

My expectations are low based on what I'm seeing from Von :)

I know different players different injury different age.

    Great news!

Yeah, I'd say he'll be on a pitch count, maybe coming in on 1st/2nd down for run defense. Or 3rd and long to anchor the middle. But it will be great to see he and Joseph both stuffed in the middle.

Legs should be in good shape, but with a pec injury, he probably lost some upper body mass.
