  1. EJ and the Bills were winning the Jax game 35-30 with 4 minutes left. The "great" Rex Ryan defense let Blake Bortles go 73 yards to take the lead. EJ had a HORRIFIC game, but it said a lot that they fought and regained the LEAD under his leadership. I often wondered how the HEADLINES would have read if the D wouldn't have allowed that drive and the Bills would've won that game?

We are often left wondering what could have been with the bills...

  2.

My friend had season tickets to Shea for years -- total diehard through years of bad teams. I sat in his seats many times. Two years before they closed Shea, they doubled his ticket prices. Two years later when they opened CitiField, they doubled them again -- AND offered him worse seats than he had at Shea. So he dropped them. He also had Islander season tickets for many years and dropped those too when they moved to Brooklyn (and no doubt jacked prices). That's what people mean by "real fans are being priced out".

Spare me the Stubhub b.s. That's fine for once in a while, but most people want to buy tickets in advance, make plans with other people, have it on their calendar, etc. They don't want to scour the internet 48 hours before the game to see if there are any reasonable tickets available.

No one is suggesting the NFL or other sports don't have the right to do whatever they want, but many have argued that killing the stadium experience for young fans (or the TV experience for young fans if you are MLB or the other sports who only show games at night) is short-sighted and will eventually have a material adverse impact on the size of your fan base and hence, TV revenues.

Its going to be interesting to see the mid to long term effects. Empty stadiums are not sustainable for the mega-rich to stay mega-rich and they will do something about it.

Before pegula bought the team, I felt like we had to spend money keep the team in buffalo. If there were no fans in buffalo, a new owner would have find a new (money spending market) home for this team. But we proved that we can financially support an NFL team year after year with ticket and jersey sales. The product on the field had no consequence to the owner as they seem to make their money regardless.

Now that the threat of the team moving has been removed, if the revenue dries up from ticket sales, jersey sales, etc, this will now effect the owner and the answer of moving the team is far far less likely that the period post wilson/pre pegula. This "obligation" is no longer there. The obligation should be on the owners to put a product on the field worth supporting. I hope the stadium is empty the next two games. Its what this team deserves, and hopefully it will send a message. I am a younger bills fan, but I do have the money to buy tickets to one or two games a year... but I dont... and won't until I see a team that I am confident will, ya know, beat the jags... Its much cheaper to get upset at home.

  3. Tyrod has played well enough for us to win games we've lost. But in those games he didn't play well enough to win them. And that's why we will never be good with Tyrod.

He played well enough for us to win when we have lost. But in games he hasnt played well enough to win, we haven't won. And thats why he isnt good...

    Thats deep bruh...

  4. Although he isn't technically in the NFL anymore, anybody who asks his players to carry him off the field after a win against his former team, has a pretty big ego.

A regular season win... in week 5... against the lions... :bag:

He's quieted down now that they're losing more, but Richard Sherman.

But this shows that at least he gets it. When you win, you can talk, when you lose, you look dumb.

  5. It should be a penalty if a ball carrier is tackled when he is trying to advance the ball and score a touchdown. A play is only whistled dead when a ball carrier goes out of bounds. Fumbles out of bounds continue to be a live ball until recovered.

Incomplete passes that do not contact a receiver and land in bounds are now live balls. Intentional grounding inside the tackle box is still a penalty, but no more spiking it outside the tacklebox to avoid a sack or bc of good coverage, if you want to throw it away, you have to sky it. If you throw a deep ball - make sure the intended receiver can get a hand on it otherwise its like a punt. This would cause mayhem. And I would love it.

  6. Saying he's better than Ryan is like saying Forrest Gump is better than Porky Pig.

    Haha I love it.

Both coaches are subpar. I think Rex did something special in 09 and 10 with the Jets, getting to back to back AFC CC Games. It seems like he has regressed as a coach, or just doesnt have the coaching support or the horses on the roster to do the same thing as 09-10... he got to the AFCC with Sanchez - let that sink in... Also, Marrone was still green when he left, but he didn't show much. I am surprised about the reports coming out that he is a hot candidate for a HC job...

Marrone leaving was his own choice. Could the organization have done something to make him stay? Maybe. With a decent roster, an improved year over year record, it seems like a coach just up and left a team that was on the rise. Why would he leave? I find it troubling to think that he would quit because Orton left... he left over Orton? ORTON? A middling QB on his way out? Something was up with Marrone and he left because he wanted to. Its not like he was fired so we could bring in Rex. I would have preferred to see DM and Schwartz stay for continuity, and to see what they could have done with TT at the helm (but that was a Rex move i think), but thats not how it worked out. I am ok with Rex at the moment. I am disappointed in the performance of the team, but look at the Ravens. They were crap even with Flacco and Forsett, no one is calling for Harbaughs job. Give Rex another year. We have waiting this long, whats another year, but at this point last year (DS) and the year before that (MP) Defensive coaching was superior to what we are seeing today.

I think the chemistry on the D side of the ball is missing this year and I am not sure why as the personnel is mostly the same. Hughes is not a leader, Mario is not a leader. KW - idk if hes a leader or not, but overall it seems like for all the talent, there is no anchor. Maybe I'm wrong. I am surprised we havent heard about locker room turmoil surrounding Hughes giving up personal fouls - a leader would be in his face calling out his childish BS.

In my observations... I see very few signs of player or coach growth in the league over the last 5-10 years. It seems like they either have it right away and are kept, or dont have it and are discarded. Its not often you see organizations stand behind players or coaches who struggle - there is just no leeway for failure, which is why I think improvement is not something seen very often - players are often benched or cut before they have a chance to work it out for themselves. I am open to examples of the contrary.

    Go bills.

  7. I used to think the refs were motivated to screw one team over another which leads to the horrible calls and non-calls. But it changes so often, I am starting to think they just have no clue out there. Running around wetting themselves whenever they need to make an important judgement call. Its embarrasing for them and the NFL.

Honest question: I keep seeing that Dean Blandino is the VP of Officiating. Is there a president of officiating, or is he the highest on the totem pole before goodell?

  8. Straight forward question.

Can Buffalo win out and get the 6 seed? Yes or No?

I say NO. This team will lose to the Texans next week, lose to the Skins, and lose to the Jets to close out our ****ty, over-hyped, under-performing, same-op-same #14 overall pick season. This team is horrible, its unreal.

At this point, winning out doesnt even guarantee a berth
