Yea, but they are the preseason champions like 3 years running.
Just imagine what they could do if they had Rex Ryan 😂

Another guy that goes unnoticed is Spencer Brown. I know he makes some rookie mistakes but the guy is nasty. Baldy highlights what he brings in the last part of this breaddown

Wow. On and off the field it's in his DNA.

Some guys just have “it”.
“It” is hard to quantify. You see it in Allen, Mahomes, Rodgers, Brady… I think also in Burrow & Herbert.
They just pop off the screen different.
Dak, I don’t see it. He’s good. He doesn’t impose his will on opposing defenses.
*To your question.. I think Allen went off on the OL on the sidelines this year. Forget which game, but he was livid.
I agree with almost all of what you are saying. Not sure about Herbert. The kid is super talented but talent is not the same as it. Physical talent helps but its not it. Burrow has it in bunches.
Some people equate it to confidence or swagger but its clear if you look at Mayfield you can see that swagger alone doesn't get you there. That Cleveland team had way more talent than the Steelers but IMO suffered from the lack of cohesion that Mayfield injected into the locker room this season.
Herbert may have it, but I would have expected to see his talent and abilities shown in games like the Raiders one to have translated to being very clear leader on all sides of the ball on and off the field.

The silence from the Pegulas bothers me soooo much that I'm not going to start a thread about it.

The problem is for a QB like Allen who can take over a game with his legs an passing only statistic is kind of useless. That said, it is a good sign that he is still ranked highly in a passing only statistic when he would obviously be ranked even higher if his value on the ground was taken into consideration.
Agreed. These rankings are really subjective and are used just for content and discussions. I'm fine with Rodgers being #1 but Stafford at #3 highlights some of the imperfections of this particular metric.

The Pro Bowl really has a creditability issue. Buffalo are the #1 defense in the league but didn't get a single Pro Bowl selection. It was meaningful at one time but sadly not for many years.

True, but the point remains. Compared to Pegula (who was widely considered to have overpaid), Ralph had a massive ROI (as did they all).
That's kind of simplistic. I'll be the first to say that Ralph wasn't perfect but it's not fair to discount his many contributions to building the NFL.

Ralph got the bargain...
Ralph was a key figure in building the league. He was risking money when there was nothing and no hope for the league. You have to remember that Ralph and the other 7 owners were called the Foolish Club because nobody thought the AFL could succeed. Ralph even had to bail other clubs out when they ran out of money just to keep the league alive.

I’d 100% trade Frazier for two third round picks.
Yup the #1 Defense architect for two third round picks sure does sound fair. Why not bring back Rex while we're at it.

That's OK.
There's a big difference between getting an interview and a job offer.
There's been solid rumors for a while that Dungy will be GM and Frazier will be HC. There may be truth to those rumors after all.

Yeah but they lost their starting QB midway through the season and have been down to their third and fourth string quarterbacks.
True they had a stacked team. But Brady had been clamoring for more help on offense his last year in New England.Agreed. I just disagree with the Brady is greater than Belichick because he's won more games since leaving... They both can be special

Except that his record without Brady is well below .500 and Brady just won a SB with another team.
Except Brady didn't win the SB with just another team. TB was stacked and loaded last year. Look at this year when Brady loses 2 key players he gets shut out. Football isn't tennis - sustained success takes more than just one player.

I mean only two can make it I think since Pats and Fins play each other.
3 can make it still if the Phins beat the Pats

I think modern journalism - especially in sports - has been more about hot takes and personalities to drive ratings, clicks and downloads. The job of a traditional sports writer has evolved more into what a columnist traditionally did, not only cover the event and tell stories but also interject their opinion into the storytelling.
IMO the driver of this is the metrics used to evaluate online content. Specific work can now be quantified and obviously you’ll get more engagement with an extreme opinion than a more moderate one.
Agreed but I just wanted to give kudos to the non hot take folks that still are out there and not bundle them in with the Nick Wrights of the world. There is a difference between the sports journalists and the Skip Bayless types.

Or get rid of the media altogether.
It's not the media's issue. It's the personality hot take commentators that drive clicks that is the problem.

Gabe Davis or Knox depending on which one the Pats focus more on.
