  1. Wounder how much better this defense would be if Kiko was out there? But then again injuries do happen and this team has been fairly healthy over the course of the year. So a major injury to a starter is always likely to happen.

It would make the defense a top 3 front seven imo. Spikes is one of the best in the league at what he does(run stop) and Kiko is an all-around stud. Bradham isn't too shabby either.

  2. And what did Brandon Spikes say about Buffalo when he was with the Pats?

If he's still got talent, sign him. He's been through the ringer and been without a paycheck for over half a year now. He's not going to be a problem, and if he does become one, you cut him and don't owe him any more money.

This. It'd only be a 9 game rental. It's not like anyone thinks we should sign him long term. This offense could be loads better with a solid upgrade at guard right now.

  3. I don't really care what he's known for off the field. I'm looking for the Bills to win, not get the "good guys" award.

He'd be a 9 game rental and that's it. And signing him is probably the best way to improve our chances to win out of any single roster move we could make right now.

  4. Sign Incognito. It's win/win.

-He could be had dirt cheap

-He would instantly upgrade the Oline

-Despite what anyone says there's no way he'd cause a problem in the locker room.

It would essentially be a 9 game rental until we can address the position after the season ends. Do people really think a guy that is on his absolute last chance to have an NFL career is going to ruin a locker room in only 9 weeks? Very doubtful.

Plus he would add a nastiness to the line that we've been missing this season. A guy like that could very well improve he other guys around him.

  5. Can we all just stop and appreciate that our deep woods Georgia boy is balling out and leading the league in interceptions right now? People see these dudes as automatons with their helmets on. I want you to WATCH THIS VIDEO and realize this dude is leading the league in INTs for *US* right now, for Bills Nation.

  6. Why don't you just tell us why the refs do it. Be very specific. Is it because "Kraft sits on the Viacom board"? Draw the straight line form there to the calls a ref is going to make on the field.

How do you think you would feel officiating a game that included one of the longest running dynasties of great teams that currently had a QB and a coach you were already aware would go down in the history books as the greatest pair in the history of the entire sport? You don't think there could be any possibility of subconscious bias?

Do you think Muhammad Ali didn't get a little point bias from scoring judges later in his career? Or that the refs of his fights weren't a little more hesitant to call a low blow foul on the peoples' champ?

It doesn't have to be a huge conspiracy for it to be true. It only takes a VERY small bias in the judgement of the refs to significantly alter a game, and since there have been SO many of these games over the past few years that favored the Pats it seems pretty obvious a bias for them exists.

  7. I hope the Bills can re-sign Dareus and Hughes to keep that line together. It is going to be tough. Dareus will get a 60M contract and Hughes would have to be paid something close. That is a lot of money to put on the table by the Pegulas.

If anyone is willing to spend the money to keep this unit together it's Pegula imo. I was really, really happy he got the team. I'm not nearly as worried about the Bills letting talent walk anymore.

I don't know. IMO, in terms of all around play it's a toss up between us and the Lions.

There are stats that go both ways. We have more sacks and have let up less rushing TDs while also allowing shorter runs, but because of today they have allowed less rushing yards per game.

  8. Definitely the strength of the team, but we're always so hesitant to label anything Bills-related as "best in the league." I think we should embrace that they are indeed second to none when it comes to the defensive line.

On a semi-related note I also think it's safe to say that the Shepphard-for-Hughes trade is probably the most lopsided player-for-player trade in the entire history of the NFL. I looked around a bit and couldn't find a single instance that worked out better for one team.

  9. Most people agreed we had a really good Dline going into the year but seldom went as far as saying they were the best. I'm going to go ahead and say that, at least through 7 games, the Bills have the #1 defense in the league.

We thought we'd be sacrificing sacks for protection in Shwartz's new scheme, yet here we are leading the league in sacks. Bills Dlinemen make up 3 spots in the league's top 10 individual sack leaders. Before today, we were ranked #1 in the league in run defense. We gave up some today, but we're still ranked 5th.

If we had Kiko next to Spikes and Bradham I'd go so far as to say they had the #1 front 7, but I'll wait until next year to see if that pans out.

  10. Regardless of how they turn out, I hope we can at least all agree that just because they're playing badly now doesn't mean they always will. There's definitely a learning curve for almost all rookie Olinemen. Even a lot of the "studs" that are picked in the top 10 struggle some or all of their rookie seasons.

If nothing else them getting all this experience is going to allow us to speed up the learning process and know what we really have in them much quicker than we'd know sitting them for a year or two.
