It's a lazy comparison. Deshaun had a much better college career as it pertains to potentially transitioning into the NFL, imo. He "Quarterbacked" his team to two National Championship appearances, and one National Championship victory. Something Jackson didnt get close to doing (and disappointingly neither did Mayfield).

It's a lazy comparison. Hello ? Didn't Jackson win the Heisman ? Don't you have to have a pretty good season to win the Heisman ? Hold your horses now, I know what you're going to say, "Just because he won the Heisman doesn't mean he's going to succeed in the NFL". I agree, probably %50 of Heisman winners have gone on to less than stellar careers. But you said Watson had  a much better college career. I disagree.

  2. Ok, thanks for you expert knowledge, and the Lions didn't draft  wrs in the first round 3 years in a row, and the Saints didn't trade their entire draft ,plus a another first  and a third to take Ricky Williams.... it's the NFL draft, strange things happen.

What if every QB is available for the Bills at pick 12?

What I proposed, up to Indy taking a QB could reasonably happen, what you proposed would never happen, so I go that  going for me.

  3. I'm with the crowd of not trading up but if a QB falls to them at 12 or 22, then take him. What if Indy decides to take a QB, especially if the Giants and Broncos don't take a QB ? I know Luck has a big contract but last I heard he hasn't begun throwing a football yet. Say the draft goes like this :

    Browns - Darnold

    Giants - Barkley

    Jets - Mayfield

    Browns - Chubb

    Broncos - Nelson

Rosen and Allen still on the board, still have 3 second round picks to fill other needs. Think they grab a QB ?

Why are people still on this Jackson dream? The Bills have shown more interest in Mike White than Lamar Jackson.

Not saying they are going to draft him but have you ever heard of a smokescreen ? Just because they haven't shown much interest in him, doesn't mean they're not interested in him.

Could be typical pre-draft shenanigans going on.

If your job told you, “you can make half of what you did last year or leave” would you be happy about it? Would you say, “last time I checked half of my salary is better than nothing?”

not half, about a quarter, AND IT'S STILL NORTH OF $4 MILLION. Compared to $0 if he retires. If it's health reason, I get it, but if it's because he feels slighted, then I have no sympathy for him.

With essentially is closest friends gone, does Williams rethink playing and end up retiring as well? Beane has gutted this team and news like today really hurts the Bills. Lining up for at most a 4 win team next year. With this current Oline Shady has little value to this team.

Please tell us the rest of the Bills' closest friends too so we can be upset when another player retires or gets cut.

I am fine with Jackson but no way he starts this year or next, he needs time to learn to be under Center. Might not even dress game days. Rudolph can challenge for starter, if he loses than Peterman and him can vye for backup. If Peterman loses he is gone and Falk is game day cut, need 3 QB's during a season.

Jackson has a better chance of dressing for game days than Rowan Smith ever will.

I just reviewed the latest CBS mock draft.  They have us trading our 12th pick, our 4th round pick and our 2019 1st round pick to move up to 4.

They have Allen to Cleveland, Farnum of to the Giants

someone please translate this for me, mi englis note that gode...Farnum of to the Giants ?, even if he meant Darnold...Darnold of to the Giants ?

Believing that a LB is more important than QB, sounds exactly like something the Bills would do.

Spending a year trading away opportunity and talent in order to collect assets for the QB-heavy 2018 draft, and then not using them to get a top QB, sounds exactly like something the Bills would do.

Loading up on Defense and Running Game in a QB-centric, pass-happy league

Tell me again who won the Super Bowl last month and tell me again how they did it.

I appreciate the OP don’t get me wrong but putting names to it does NOTHING to change my mind. Look I don’t “know” which qbs will pan out I get that. But theoretically drafting Rudolph just to check the box of drafting a qb is so wildly irrelevant in my opinion. Swing for the fences, now

But you said you don't "know" which qbs will pan out so wouldn't be wiser a qb,lb,wr,rb instead of just a qb  ?
