If he's a true outside DE then yes. He'd be a good upgrade to Shaq who will most likely walk in FA. If I had to overpay for one of them I'd probably go with Ngakoue.

If it were up to me, MY defensive line would be:

    DE: Hughes - Draft Pick

    1Tech: Harry - Vince Taylor

    3Tech: JPhillips - Oliver

    DE: Ngakoue

Still need a couple more players to pad the depth, but that would be my plan for starters, assuming we can't bring Shaq back on a reasonable deal.

    Edit:

    Cutting Star saves us $2M

    Cutting Murphy saves us $7M

I'm ok with cutting both and throwing that money at Lawson to keep him in the rotation...

    DE: Hughes - Draft Pick

    1Tech: Harry - Vince Taylor

    3Tech: JPhillips - Oliver

    DE: Ngakoue - Lawson

Oliver ain't backing up nobody next year.

What really stinks is that Rochester and Syracuse were considered "local" markets for blackouts back when they blacked out games if they weren't sold out, but were not considered local markets for carrying games. Believe the blackout radius was 90 miles, the radius for carrying games was 60 miles.

So they've had training camp in Rochester for 20 years and they won't simulcast the game in the Rochester area??? asinine. I have a friend in LeRoy which is about 10 - 15 miles closer to roch than buff, but they get  the buffalo stations on their sat package

A 5th for Zay is pretty good but in retrospect, the 5th is a terrible return on a player that the team traded up to get, bypassing JuJu Shuster Smith.  If McDermott made that call then damn....terrible waste of a draft pick

you can say that about almost any pick on most team every year, if you always play the woulda, coulda should of game, then you're never, ever going to be happy. I get it, you can look back at every draft and say, man, they should have took so and so. go back in just bills history, you win some, you lose some, Thurman was the 40th pick! and they didn't give up anything to sign duke and if he turns out to be better than zay, who cares about a wasted pick, they're still a better team.

And then we used a first round pick to draft him. You still only get the one player for that pick.

    2014 1st rounder  + 2015 first rounder = Sammy Watkins in a Bills uniform.

He cost us a total asset investment of 2 first round picks.

    Meanwhile, we could have had

Mike Evans for the same price

    OBJ for 1 pick

    Brandin Cooks for 1 pick

    Devante Adams for 1 pick

    Jarvis Landry for 1 pick

    Allen Robinson for 1 pick.

Now, obviously hindsight is 20-20 and there’s only so much we can fault them for. That being said, trading up to select what is one of the deepest positions of the draft is never smart.

again, people just don't want to or can't comprehend what I said. it wasn't about the trade, it was about people complaining" WE GAVE UP 2 IST ROUNDERS TO DRAFT SAMMY WATKINS!!!" Again they didn't give up 2 1st rounders they gave up 1, and I understand the reasoning of the people who were against doing the deal.

Meh... he's probably worth that, but i think looking at our offensive scheme matters quite a bit. I love Evans because he's everything we're missing and a top 3-5 WR who doesn't get nearly enough credit.

I wouldn't mind giving it up for Hopkins though.

Man... Looking back at that 14 draft and the depth of the WR position and realizing we gave up 2 first for Sammy Watkins still stings...

I know some people will never understand it and they may  feel it was still too much to give up, and many do, BUT THEY DID NOT GIVE UP 2 FIRST ROUNDERS!!!! THEY SWITCHED FIRSTS AND THEN GAVE THEM A FIRST ROUNDER. Why is that so difficult to comprehend. Personally I was hoping they were going to draft Mack with the pick.

It’s kinda fun to go back and review the analysis of our team and selection of Josh Allen on Draft night. Some members are still here...others literally packed up their things and left.

And I’m not targeting Gunner here. He’s a smart fella and I respect his analysis. His reaction is tame compared to some in this archived thread.

It’s still very early to judge these five QB’s but Josh Allen is doing about as good as could be expected (high floor, high ceiling) in his development.

Go look at some of the youtubers that night, pretty funny stuff.

How is that possible, when the next nearest was 11 games I think?

3-0 vs. teams 1-8 and wins, but certainly nothing convincing.

Let those explain again that qb's & teams throwing for 300 means nothing and further explain how it is a meaningless stat.

Daniel Jones in his first game did it (as did Kyler Murray).

    This is embarrassing......

Can the Bills get the monkey off their back?

Take fantasy football and shove it up your ass.

Is it just me or is anyone else wondering if Brandon Beane didn't do due diligence on the health of Kroft. He came here with foot problems, first day of OTA breaks foot, now this latest injury. Coach is putting on his game face but he has to be extremely disappointed.

Take a chill pill, your observation is small and short.

OK, lets argue semantics about what people mean when they refer to "spring".  Yes it has a technical definition, most people refer to Spring as when the land becomes warmer, plants start to grow and it stops freezing.  Here, that's usually March 1st.  By the technical definition most of December is Autumn.  December does not evoke autumnal feelings in WNY.

You haven't been here lately then because the last 20 years or so, it definitely has an autumnal feel to it.

You clearly put a lot of thought in this, so I wont slam you just because I think the Bills will do better than 7-9.  That being said, do you actually believe the Cardinals will get 6 wins this year?  I am thinking they will be lucky to win 2-3 games. I think KC will have closer to 12 wins, not 16 and I believe the Broncos will be closer to the 9-10 win total.  All in all, pretty solid predictions.

No, he clearly didn't. 16 weeks x 16 games =256. So if you don't include ties, the wins and losses must add up to 256 each, he has only 244 wins. I hate when people make predictions like this,

  11. 1974 vs Bears, 16-6 win. I was eight years old and I won two tickets from the Courier-Express. They had a contest called Predict the Score. They played the Pats the previous week and I predicted Bills win 31-28, they won 30-28, I guess that was close enough.
