  1. This is getting like penn state all over again
  2. There you go again with that projection. Its getting sad, you should stop...
  3. That's not projection you goof To impose something on another is not projection. Projection is putting your qualities on to another Edit: how in the world did he know you didn't know what that term meant? Strange
  4. Goodell will be gone for the same reason rice is. He is hurting their image, negative attention, and can indirectly cost them. Unfortunately for him, his actions are perfect of a scapegoat
  5. I know you are being a bit sarcastic, but to a degree its true. If people are unhappy with the punishements a system hands out, they will make their voice heard. Is society random, weak at times, strong at times, wrong at times? Ypu, but it doesn't make it any less true. I'm not saying its right or wrong, but it is the way it works. And that's very evident this week They will absolutely go back to not caring. And no society shouldnt be involved with voting for punishments, thats not how it works in any judicial system in our country and the NFL already had a written procedure.
  6. He isn't a substitute for the criminal courts, they are independent from another and that has been shown plenty of times. The NFL is its own judicial system, go look at the CBA and you will see an entire system that mirrors our civil courts
  7. By creating a system to punish players, the NFL is no different than any other judicial system in the country. They cannot operate in a vacuum from what society wants. If you want proof, look at this thread and the ray rice situation happens. Society ultimately dictates rules and punishments, you would be silly to think the nfl is the excpetion
  8. Society dictates rules and punishments in any context. When the NFL gained full legal authority to punish its players, it did so knowing that society ultimately is going to rule supreme (as it has). Call it morality or what you will, but when Ray Rice beat his wife, the NFL punished him in an unacceptable matter, hence the backlash. Call it morality or whatever you like, but you are ignorant if you don't think the NFL had to punish Rice more than two games. I think your understanding of the judicial system is pretty poor. One of the first things you learn in your first week of law school is the court system, punishments, and laws are not independent from society. In fact, the derive their power from society
  9. I'll say it again, if you were one of the people saying how much we will suck based on preseason, you are the same as these goofy experts. Clueless
  10. When you start having the government, political rights organizations, media, and the fans calling you out. It is not good for your image and you image is related to financial stakes. Would you disagree? You don't think the NFL should be concerned with the criminal conduct of its players?
  11. because they have a huge stake in regards to money. Why is that the most difficult thing to comprehend that you have to be here wallowing around and repeating your same question pretending no one can answer it. I don't know how you even find your way a computer to ask this question everyday when you can't answer simple questions in life like that. "Uhhhhh why does the nfl care about people hurting their image to consumers.....uhhhhhhhhh....shouldnt the team owners police their own players even though that would be the most biased way possible.......uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
  12. Yea sorry there are consequences that you, rice, and rice's lawyer framed this like you were going at him and then a video came out of him knocking you out unprovoked. Sorry there are consequences for beating you wife AND lying. But blame the media and fans for you and your husbands actions.
  13. The reason that people look for the NFL to punish players, is because the NFL is the entity that punishes players. Its not rocket science, but you'll get it one day. You might as well be saying something as ridiculous as "Why do courts punish people?" The answer is because they have LEGAL AUTHORITY to do so. Its the same answer to your "why does the NFL punish players question"
  14. Yea I agree, no idea about medical board rules. but I do know about nfl cba rules, and the CBA gives the NFL authority to punish players. So what was the point of his analogy? If an nfl player commits a crime, is he liable to be punished by the nfl legally, the answer is a 100% yes...
  15. You are thinking of civil cases. In criminal cases, the prosecutors can proceed with the case with or without the consent of the victim
  16. Why shouldn't the NFL Commissioner be in charge or protecting the NFL's image? That's the structure that is set up in the CBA that the players are bound too? The NFL has an image and money at stake, why wouldn't the commissioner care? You keep saying owners, the commissioner acts as an extension and behalf of the owners? There is 32 teams, 1 NFL, 1 commissioner. It makes more sense (in terms of consistency and predictability), for the league to be in charge of this But instead of just asking questions (as ignorant and goofy as "why should the nfl care about what their players do), why don't you two state why the NFL shouldn't care and give the reasons since your opinion goes against the norm, cba, and what most people believe.
  17. Holy crap, you and Rob's house are not using your brain. Is this going to be like 5th grade where you have to write an essay to a prompt, "If you were in charge of a multi-billion dollar industry, what are the pros and cons of caring if your players (image) beat their wives? Remember at least three reasons!"
