Ohio State is the most prohibitive preseason favorite in decades.

That's what I am talking about.

    Obviously.

By whom? The media? The media and any preseason or in-season poll is irrelevant in CFB. That's fun to talk about in August that they got all the #1 votes and everyone has them in the playoff because why not, they are the defending champion with a lot of returning starters. But it is meaningless, as you know. The CFB playoff committee has their own set of criteria to determine who gets in the playoff, and it has nothing to do with media opinion, the AP poll, the coach's poll, etc. There is no such thing as a "favorite" in CFB until November 3rd when their first rankings come out. You can look back through the decades if you want to see who got the most preseason votes, but as of 2014 that is obsolete info and just something for the media to talk about until the real rankings come out.

There is a bad vibe around that Ohio State team, they are snoozing their way thru an overmatched schedule.

As such a prohibitive favorite and with so many of the usual powerhouse teams in transition if they do not win it all this year it will be the biggest faceplant in CFB over 3 decades.

Hyperbole alert. 3 decades? What are you talking about? Because Champions repeat on the regular? No, they don't. This is what happens when you win it all. FSU last year, 2009 Florida, 2010 Bama. You get everyone's best and focus can be a challenge. There isn't anything close to a bad vibe, and they aren't snoozing. If that's snoozing, what was MSU doing at Purdue, who might be the worst team in the country? What was TCU doing last week giving up 52 points to Texas tech and only winning by 3? Did Ole Miss literally fall asleep vs Florida, a team that hasn't been relevant in years? OSU lost a brilliant OC and have an inexperienced QB who has played 8 games. They have a great defense and an out of synch offense. Last year at this time it was the opposite, the season is a journey. Not everyone is peaking in October. As evidenced by all the teams losing. Who are "so many of the powerhouse teams in transition?" What does "in transition" mean in this statement?

IU was undefeated and went to Mizzou and beat them last year, a team that went on to win the SEC East for the 2nd straight year. They are a good team. You don't play the games on paper. You play them on the field and players are not robots. The Buckeyes won on the road. They have won 18 straight games. They are 43-3 under Urban and he has never lost a regular season Big 10 game while he has been here. Don't underestimate the losses of the OC and all the players they have lost to injury and the NFL. They had 4 corners out yesterday due to suspension and iunjury. Two starting WRs due to injury. But I guess that doesn't mean "transition" to you. Every team has their own "transition" to go through.

    Get ready for it....GO BLUE!!

ORLY. Dude. :w00t: The Michigan fan base talking smack to the OSU fan base is like... oh never mind. Don't want to offend anyone here who may still be upset about 2 weeks ago. Maybe you want to focus on beating Northwestern first though.

Tomlin is getting a lot of heat for not having Bell run on that 4th and 1 (rightfully so). That said, Mike Vick can't complete a 5-yard out? I could have completed that pass.

Agree Bell should have gotten the call. He's a the best RB in the game. Regarding Vick, don't put the game in his hands. Whether they should have let Scobee kick the 50 yarder, I don't know considering he missed two shorter ones. But expecting Vick to win the game was not smart in my opinion.

  4. But several times he also escaped and found an open receiver. People want perfection. Why not settle for success?

I know I am an outsider but I have to say, he has looked better than a lot of vets. I saw some people saying "but Brady does this..." I mean... remember what this QB situation is. You don't need him to be all-pro. Maybe to beat the Patriots, but moreover that was on the defense.

Damn, that's a bad stat and without Bowe it won't be an easy task, but you have to wait for Fitz to thow the game at you.

Well, our secondary is pretty good so let's hope that happens! It is probably the strength of our team. I also think our run D looks much improved with Shelton. Take the "under" on this game, lol

  6. I really like Connor Cook. Browns fans want to "Fail for Cardale" already but in my opinion he needs to go somewhere where he isn't needed to start right away, and that won't probably be here. He has a ton of talent but he isn;t ready to start in the NFL. I know there is a long way to go but I was at the Buckeye game yesterday and though they had a short week he seemed confused at the defenses he saw. He also rarely takes a snap behind center. I know that can be taught, Mariota never did either.
