  1. I dont agree with this

Your QBs for this next year are in place.....as much as people dislike EJ Manuel when you compare him to OTHER backup QBs his stats compare pretty well.

What needs to be considered is AFTER this next year.....Manuel will be gone....Tyrod will have his contract......and the QB we pick this year needs to capabably backup in year 2

Agreed. I really think any talk about QB, outside of pure developmental, is moot. I truly believe Tyrod is that dude. Everything Whaley is saying about drafting a QB sounds like he and OBD is trying to build leverage for contract discussions with TT.

  2. I agree with the sentiment that TT should be/deserves to be paid, especially given what Osweiler received. He played well for an entire season and was MUCH more than the game manager Osweiler was. I understand opportunity and situation is everything, but had this been a contract year for TT, not only could he be getting paid, he'd (if OBD didn't pay him) potentially be headed to a Superbowl contender. I hope Buffalo does the right thing and pay him at some point during next season as long as his performance is same/better.

  3. I think every Bills fan appreciates how good Kyle Williams is and what he brings to the team every week he played, and while we aren't in the locker room, you could see his teammates respect for him on the sideline and when they spoke about him. With that said, however, I think his skill set is better suited on a team with a 4-3 base alignment and with the (perceived) depth at DT in this upcoming draft, his snaps could be replaced with a lower salary rookie. The 5 mil cap space could go towards locking up Gilmore/Glenn and eventually Tyrod. It makes sense financially and for the long term success of the team/young players, but it'd suck to see him leave and us make the playoffs.

  4. I think I'm the only one who's perfectly ok with EJ as our backup. It's slim pickings for a better backup, EJ has experience, is still developing, a good team player, and will be in year two of Roman's complicated system. If we replace EJ, I'd hope we replace him with someone else who has had experience with the system.

I agree. He'd accept his role as a backup but prepare and be ready if his number was called. He played like **** the first 25 minutes of the Jacksonville game, but actually rallied the team with Marcus Easley any Chris Gragg. It was the defense that lost that one. The Bengals were just a better team.

  5. I know this is the question on every fans mind right now but seriously? Our roster is talented, the coaching isn't bad (although the defense isn't playing anywhere NEAR as well as most thought) but this team just can't seem to win. I think Tyrod is the best QB we've had since Drew Bledsoe so I don't want to hear its the QB's fault. What is it that this team just CANT find a way to do?

Does this team deserve such a loyal fan base after producing nearly two decades of laughable ineptitude?

  6. Straight forward question.

Can Buffalo win out and get the 6 seed? Yes or No?

I say NO. This team will lose to the Texans next week, lose to the Skins, and lose to the Jets to close out our ****ty, over-hyped, under-performing, same-op-same #14 overall pick season. This team is horrible, its unreal.

  7. I dont understand the officials call on that Hogan catch. And why on God's earth Rex would challenge Woods ****ty non-catch and not Hogans. WTF is wrong with this organization? The ALL the other 5-5 teams found a way to win. Texans, Jets, and Chiefs. I CANT !@#$ING STAND THIS TEAM AND THEIR CONSTANT LOSING!!!! WHY?????

  8. I agree that on some of the blitzes Tyrod missed a read/receiver that was one-on-one (one comes to mind where the safety fell down and he had I believe Woods down the seem), but he's only started 7 games total and makes plays when they count. I think the more snaps he gets and the more time he gets with this offense, he's gonna be the steal of free agency. Plus, I like that he takes shots down field to keep the defense honest. And if you take away the 3 interception NE game, he's got an 11-1 TD/INT ratio. Thats pretty f**king good I think. I hate to say it but the Pats are looking all world right now, HOWEVER, I am excited to see what 10 days of RNR plus game-planning is going to bring! GO Bills!!!

    P.S. REEEEBBBEEEELLLSSSS!!!!!

  9. THis game was brutal. I cant remember an NFL game where I had the lowest of lows and highest of highs emotionally like I did today. Only for us to come back and get screwed by a horrendous 3rd and 15 pass interference call with ZERO CONTACT.

My blood is boiling, im so mad that I dont even know if im upset. If that makes sense.

Jesus christ being a bills fan sucks.

I don't think it ever gets said enough. Its UNCANNY how consistent their mediocrity is.

  10. How anybody can focus on QB play after this game is amazing. QB play was the least of the Bills problems today. He wasnt great but if the ST and D show up it likely would have been good enough.

    +1

I thought EJ played well. He missed a couple throws but did the best he could with the players around him. If they'd had better field position throughout the game I'm sure some of the play calls would've been different. The defense is the issue, which is just mind boggling.

  11. What I liked the most about this game was that OC Greg Roman was able to adapt to each QB's strengths with the play calls and formations, making it look effortless. The difference between Cassel and Taylor with the offensive approach was subtle, but you could tell they wanted to give Taylor the opportunity to show his skill set. Rather than, "Hey this is how our scheme is you adapt to IT" it was "Were going to alter our scheme slightly to highlight your abilities". That to me was the most positive sign:

    A COMPETENT OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR!

    thoughts?

  12. not sure, he fired one into the end zone but it was dropped(similar to TT's throw to Goodwin last night). He's just so darn accurate. And seems to really read the whole field.

Early he took a shot into the end zone (we might be talking about the same pass) but it looked a little under thrown and resulted into a "jump ball" situation with Mike Wallace (i believe). When he released the ball it kind of floated, where as if it had a little more behind it he could have gotten Wallace in stride for a TD.

Were they just talking about it or was their a credible report?

I think it was just a discussion about Wisenhunt being in a difficult position due to Mariota's draft position and already declaring him the week 1 starter, even though Mettenberger is out playing him.

But if it was a viable option would you be on board? (I guess this deserves a completely different thread).

  13. Teddy's looking pretty good, dating back to the final stretch of last year. The Vikes got a tough division but I think they could be a scary team this year. Must feel good for him to be the final QB taken in the first round of 2014, but actually producing.

Side notes related to 2014 QB's:

    1. I didn't catch the entire Steelers/Jags game, but:

    A. How did Bortles look?

    B. Did they get a camera shot of Marrone looking like a douche?

    2. Did anyone else hear the NFL commentary on Mettenberger being possible trade bait to our Buffalo Bills?

Hope everyones having a good Saturday!

    P.S. REEEEBBBEEEELLLLSSSSS!!!!!

  14. I think Dareus has definitely earned the extension. His first two years were a mess due to the coaching staff misusing him as the 5 technique end but once Pettine and Schwartz got him aligned correctly, he showed why he was a top-5 pick. I think locking him up now, drafting an end, and then deciding what to do with Mario sooner than later is their plan. Once you get Dareus signed you have 2 pro bowl tackles to go with (what should really be 2) pro bowl de's. They need to draft another pass rusher so that Mario Williams doesn't have all the leverage and hopefully develop somebody so they don't miss a beat once the Williams brothers are gone. (Clearly they aren't brothers but you know what i mean)

  15. I don't know how it could even be debated. It addressed an area of need, we have plenty of cap space so its a non-issue there and LeSean McCoy is one of the top RB's in the league. The defense was great without Alonso and will continue to be. Its a rough comparison, but look what Rex's Jets of 2009 and 2010 were able to do. The only negative about this is it basically is the end of Freddy which is tough, but he isn't the same player on the field he was 2-3 years ago. People seem to sweat Whaley but I think he's done a good job drafting and putting together personnel. I still think they should draft a RB if the right one is available in later rounds.

  16. The dreads, grill and gangster attitude is what gets under some fans skin, if Aaron Rogers did this people wouldn't care as much.

    Yeah I said it.

I don't get why people give damn though? Jealousy because "someone like that" (something I've seen haters express on other columns regarding him) is making so much money? That'd be my guess. As much as I wish he was still with Buffalo, I'm glad he was able to find success and get a (probably two after Sunday) rings.
