  1. That 2022 team was built as the “all in” team. And that defense with Von didn’t play 1 snap together (Tre wouldn’t be back until after Thanksgiving when Von went down). Not one snap. That team was our all in move. Tre and Von’s injury completely derailed it. I just don’t think this roster is ready for another “all in” move. Too many question marks on D. This was always a “reset” year especially for the defense. Much more so than the O. Neglecting WR for 4 drafts bc we hoped Gabe could become something cost us. Armchair QB is easy I know but it should have been DeJean or Newton - he had a solid rookie season. Dorian and Bishop are the only guys drafted on defense the last 2 years that maybe we can say will definitely help us. And I’m reaching on Bishop solely bc of where he was drafted. If I go back 3 drafts Benford and TB. And not one D linemen of note. That’s the main problem. And poor secondary play. The needs puts us in a bad spot to want to give up significant assets for 1 player. You would have to be convinced that Garrett along with Oliver, Rousseau, and whoever will make an elite D line. We need a #2 corner. And maybe 2 safeties.
  2. And they were missing Zay Flowers.
  3. Correct and I just essentially posted this in the new hires thread. He's a great HC. But I’m not sure he’s hired the best DC but rather a guy he can work with - we don’t know how good a DC Babich is. McD and Beane are opening the new stadium. Don't even waste your energy thinking otherwise. And they absolutely deserve it especially McD with his performance the last 2 years when it really could have unraveled with the Diggs situation and playoff failures. If by 2027 this team is still stuck or regressed then we can consider another direction and that would only be bc we’d be going into year 11 with no SB appearances under this regime.
  4. If McD wasn’t here would you be thrilled with Bobby Babich as DC? I don’t know at the moment. DC for this team has to work with McD and I think that’s why we’re comfortable with him. I have to believe there is some philosophical differences between the two and McD is acknowledging that these hires will help Babich meet his vision. The blitzes and schemes at times did look like 2 different philosophies colliding or struggling to co exist. This year the D was mostly healthy and I thought it was bad outside of the Denver playoff game and 2 horrific Lamar turnovers. As the season went on the D line got worse. The Secondary got worse. One of Stroud’s only good games was against us. Baltimore scored 62 points on us. Stafford lit us up. Detroit was a mix - did you feel like we were stopping them in the 4th quarter? And Mahomes had the best game of his career. Teams completed almost SEVENTY percent of their passes against us. I like the additions but it concerns me that we’re concerned and I know we don’t have the horses on D to compensate for coaching deficiencies - which should absolutely never happen with a defensive head coach.
  5. And risk a 3rd concussion in 3 weeks - I’m saying no chance after what happened vs the Chiefs would he have played. Do we even have an update on him?
  6. Benford wouldn’t have played. Make of that what you will. BUT….with Allen you always have a chance.
  7. In 2022 - that’s the draft (and AJ Brown trade) that got them 2 SB Trips: Philadelphia Eagles 2022 Draft Picks First Round – No. 13 overall (DT Jordan Davis) (*Acquired from the Houston Texans) Second Round – No. 51 overall (C Cam Jurgens) Third Round – No. 83 overall (LB Nakobe Dean) Sixth Round – No. 181 overall (LB Kyron Johnson) (*Acquired from the Detroit Lions) Sixth Round – No. 198 overall (TE Grant Calcaterra) (*Acquired from the Jacksonville Jaguars) Philadelphia Eagles 2022 NFL Draft Weekend Trades 1. Eagles traded picks No. 15, 124, 162, and 166 to the Texans for pick No. 13. With that pick, the Eagles selected DT Jordan Davis. 2. Eagles traded picks No. 18 and 101 to the Titans for WR A.J. Brown. 3. Eagles traded pick No. 154 to the Jaguars for picks No. 188 and 198 (TE Grant Calcaterra) overall. 4. Eagles traded picks No. 188 and 237 to the Lions for pick No. 181. With that pick, the Eagles selected LB Kyron Johnson. They traded a first for AJ Brown and still were able to draft Jordan Davis.
  8. They traded with the Saints in 2022 that got them the Saints 1st rounder in 2023 - that turned out to be Carter. They were 9-8 in 2021. They accumulated some draft capital. This year they hit on Mitchell at pick 19 and DeJean at 40. Super Bowl. Hit on your freaking picks. Especially rounds 1 and 2. We haven’t. That’s the difference between us and the Champs.
  9. Right. But my question was how did they get in POSITION to draft them?
  10. The Chiefs had that deep threat the first 57 minutes of this game. How’d that work out and help the running game? My God people. Be mad we took Boogie Basham over anything. That’s correct - also against backups.
  11. Dean Carter Mitchell DeJean Davis How did the Eagles get in position to draft these guys? We have nothing like them - Benford is the only blue chip on D.
  12. That he just picks DeJean? I blame WGR for all the “must be a WR” insanity
  13. Stat pad alert v 3rd stringers!!!!
  14. Was just texting my buddy this. Yea our D line couldn’t do this to Mahomes but our OTs would hold up vs the Eagles.
  15. This halftime show is fitting. This is how bad music is in 2025 on display.
  16. “Oh it’s real this time” hahaha
  17. Best commercial in years When Harry met Sally
  18. It may have been holding - but that’s how you rescue the Chiefs.
  19. Yes. Our talent deficiencies on D vs a team like the Eagles is significant.
