  1. Browns coach Mike Pettine said Wednesday that he would not include Russell Wilson in the top tier of NFL quarterbacks.

"Would you put him there with the guys that can transcend their supporting cast?" Pettine asked rhetorically. "The Bradys, whether it's Aaron Rodgers, Brees, Roethlisberger, the ones that you would consider the two, three, four elite guys? No. But he's certainly played himself into that next tier." Pettine indicated he believes Wilson's success is a "function" of Wilson's supporting cast -- a supporting cast that this year has included one of the NFL's worst offensive lines, the loss of Jimmy Graham to a torn patellar tendon, an injury-decimated running game, and no prototype No. 1 receiver. "He plays at a high level, he's very productive and they win," Pettine continued. "Now a lot of that I think is a function, too, is he's the perfect quarterback for what they do. To me it goes both ways."

I immediately put Wilson in the Dan Duel lineup.

Wilson is one of my favorite players in the game.

I want Bevell here (and did back in January as choice #1) doing with Tyrod what he's done out there.

But I guess I'll live with the excuse machine.

    What is Dan Duel?

  2.

    1. A missed tackle does not an overall poor defensive performance make. Had he made the tackle, Eli would have been held under 200 yards on the day.
    2. Okay, fine, that does virtually nothing to take away from any of my points.
    3. Quantifiably false:

    @ChrisTrapasso

Perspective: In 2014: #Bills D starters missed total of 13 games due to injury. In 2015 thru Week 14: #Bills D starters have missed 29 games

Can't count on players not getting injured. It's better to design your team so that you don't need luck to be successful

  3. I would say Bledsoe has been our best QB since Kelly, so I'd have to go with the 2004 team. The overall talent level was also higher with that team (Takeo Spikes, Nate Clements, McGahee) than it has ever been since then. Bledsoe is twice as good as Taylor, so don't try to engage me on that like everyone tries to.

The runner up would probably be the 2014 squad. The defense was racking up sacks, Kyle Orton was a serviceable quarterback, and I believe Nate Hackett showed a lot of creative play calling but was obviously being smothered by Saint Doug.

  4. No im criticizing him based on the rose colored glasses that many posters here are wearing. I have said... and will continue to saym he isnt anything special..

Yet. I am saying im tired of reading delusional posts. Im saying im tired man. Enough. His first campaign. He is not a top 5 qb yet. He is not the teams backbone yet. He is just 1 of the 11 on offense. He has done bare mininum to say he has solidified his starting job next year. We are drafting a qb. And we might have one.... not compete with ej... but with tyrod for the number 1.

Wait a second mister. He is the 5th best quarterback in the league (*accoring to QB rating). The proof is right in the numbers.

Exactly. Either be good enough to not have to worry, or you have to deal with competition.

I agree with his completely. If you can't handle the pressure of competition with your starting job, then how are you going to be able to handle the pressure of a playoff game

  5. The real problem with the Bills is that you don't come to Buffalo to win. Winners don't seem to want to go to Buffalo. Example, Mario Williams. He came here to be financially secure for his family and 8 generations of family from now. If you are interested in winning, you go to a team that has a winning culture like New England.

  6.

First of all, many of the players you listed are 2nd string or lower here...so EPIC FAIL at a post. In fact, only 3 of the guys you listed are #1's here (Eric Wood, Williams, and Taylor). Wood definitely starts on a lot of teams around the NFL. He's no where close to being the 33rd best C or worse in the NFL. Taylor is in the top 5 in several critical passing categories, including rating and YPA (2 of the more telling stats) across the NFL, not to mention completing almost 64% of his passes despite missing most of his offensive weapons are seeing them play hurt almost the whole year...while also playing hurt himself and learning a new offense as a FIRST year starter. And Williams issue isn't talent, its he's hurt. Is he the best S in the NFL, not by a mile. But he's a solid S that can start in this league for a lot of teams.

So now can Taylor, Wood, or Williams start on Elite teams...depends on why those teams are Elite. If its the Seahawks, then no to Williams as they have the best S tandem in the NFL and no to Taylor because they have a top 3 or 4 QB in the league. But Wood might start there. So its a case by case scenario...Taylor may have a hard time starting on an ELITE team, because ELITE teams usually have a pretty good to ELITE QB and Taylor is still young and developing despite being off to an impressive start. But there are teams, playoff teams with shots at winning the whole thing that each could start on. Taylor > Brock in Denver. Wood could start for several of the playoff teams as there are not a lot of great C in the game right now. And Williams could start for several of the playoff teams too as there are also not a lot of Elite Safeties, and the 2 best play on the same team in Seattle.

Everyone else, is a 2nd fiddle guy or lower on THIS team, so stating they are also 2nd string or best on other teams literally has exactly ZERO relevancy, merit, or intelligence in that point.

Bottom line: You now owe 4 minutes of life back.

Taylor is better than Osweiler? Are you kidding me? Taylor can't even throw over the trenches. Meanwhile, Osweiler is almost seven feet tall and, oh BTW he lead a game winning drive against the Patriots. Taylor couldn't even cross the 50 yard line at the end of BOTH of those Patriots games

  7. If Taylor lights it up this sunday will you eat your words UBBULLSFAN? As Beerball pointed out your looking through rose colored glasses- take a step back and look at the big picture of this one player in what is arguably the toughest position to play in any team sport.

If the job is too hard for you, don't do it. Play in a local flag football league for recreation.

But if you want a 100 million dollar contract extension, you better be darn good, which Taylor is not.

  8. -Aaron Williams
    -Nickell Robey
    -Anthony Dixon
    -Eric Wood
    -Robert Woods
    -Tyrod Taylor

It's hard to see these players being anything higher than 2nd string on the elite teams in the NFL. And yet, we do not consider these positions needs. The standards within Bills nation is so low, that we think we are good to go at these positions and therefore try to fill other needs. Just because a guy makes a few plays doesn't mean you need to fall in unconditional love with him.

  9. I was talking with a friend about the Ralph. It's in the middle of the snow belt, far from the city.

I feel as if any new stadium should be on the waterfront. Bethlehem steel is right there, rotting. There are limited things that the real estate can be used for, due to the toxic soil, but I think that spectator sports should be OK there.

There is plenty of room for a stadium. And a drag racing strip. And maybe a NASCAR track.

As for the curse, I'm not sure...but just in case, the stadium could be restored to it's original condition with the proper Shaman to help rectify the "problem"

I could see Western New York embracing Nascar. It's that kind of place.

  10. I have 8 years of college education and I believe karma/curses could be possible. I know I'm teeing up the personal attacks. I don't care. But I think it's possible western New York could have some bad energy or something attached to it.
