Or long-term plan is really starting to round out, at least we're getting some formal clarity.

Draft the biggest arm in the game and someone that's destined for the HoF, then focus on becoming a power running team featuring a shorter passing game with a defense that washes out in the playoffs.

It's a brilliant strategy some say.

Good thing we have Allen's arm.  When he's 48 he'll still be able to hit all those routes.

But don't you dare ever make a post that questions this logic or you'll get flamed by the weirdos.

MNF 1991 against the Bungals.  Kelly throws a pick on all 3 of our 1st possessions.  Then turns around and cracks out 5 TD passes while getting James Lofton over 200 yards receiving.

Also in 1991 us beating Pittsburg with Kelly tossing 6 TD passes, 4 to Beebe.

That was not quite the generation of bills I was talking about but I miss those days too!

  3. Now that we're moving onto a new era of bills and core players seeing some turnover, what was your fav moment of the last 4 years?

For me it was destroying NE in the playoffs and the Micah Hyde pick in the almost end zone - listen to the Patriots radio broadcast for that game of you ever find it if you want a laugh.

Maybe we didn't win a SB but demolishing them was fun!

60 people voted on your post and not a single like or thumbs up. Gotta be a record. What a terrible post by you lol

I'm not trying to win a popularity contest. I'm trying to bring ideas that crazy or not could happen.

There's literally multiple page thread on trading kair elam and he can't even crack our roster that's all likes. That's the credibility of the haters. Why would anyone want him now? You'll get nothing for him. Let's talk real returns on players or actual value.

So honestly the critique of those who are too bitter to see the business side of things has no effect on me.

So you want to pose trading the absolute best player on defense by a mile.  Brilliant.  Some people have way too much time on their hands.  Hey, let’s trade Josh.  Silliness.

Cause when has our defense shown up when it counts anyways?

This is not an opinion of what I think they should do, I'm saying it's a possibility that is all.

This forum was way more sane during the drought years. Y'all get all emotional over players now.

It's a smart move business wise if they got a good return.

    Of all the bad takes…

This isn't about what I want to happen. It's about the best options available to get the talent we need and get younger and cheeper.

Horseradish.  The only good player who was arguably traded early was Diggs.

Poyer: 32, had stated his intention to play out this year and "retire a Bill".  It's sad we cut him, but his range was clearly falling off, which is why we had him playing LB a fair bit and backfilled with Rapp at Safety.

Hyde: 33, suffering from neck stingers even after neck surgery, sad to see him walk, but ditto.

We arguably kept Dr Poyer and Mr Hyde a year too long, trying to get them a ring in exchange for all they did here.  Great guys and great leaders but no longer our best players.

Morse: 32, had limitations in the run game as an "athletic" center vs. a mauler and could lose and get shoved back without help against the best DTs.  Has a big concussion history.  I believe he limited our run play vocabulary a bit.  Great guy, good OLman, but time to move on

Tre White, 29: remember "whoever Tre White is on, he'll be open" from Chris Simms pre-2022 playoffs?  Looked good in 2023, then suffered an injury a lot of players don't come back from.  I wish him the best, but it's been 2 years since he was one of our stars.

Gabe Davis: Great guy, willing blocker, limited as a WR.  We were hoping he'd grow into a strong #2, but it was clear that wasn't going to happen

The two players we traded or didn't re-sign who were I believe were pretty inarguably still very good players, were Diggs and Leonard Floyd.  Diggs apparently didn't want to be here, and Floyd was too expensive for us to keep.

Who do you think are the "good" players we traded or cut or didn't resign?  Harty?  Hines?  Jordan Phillips?

Then why you all pitch forking over a 30 olb?

We should just trade all of our good players if we trade Milano

We pretty much cut all of them already of traded them and or didn't re sign. Lol

Started to see Milano and Bernard becoming a terrifying duo last year why would we want to see that again, I just don't get some of these ideas.

Because it's clear the young guy behind him has potential, is cheaper, and younger, and we already have played like two seasons without him for significant portions anyways.

  8. Matt Milano.

The all pro best LB on the roster, whos replacement was already drafted.  Would it be crazy for them to trade him now on an attempt to move up? Possibly.

But he has had some availability issues over the years. And the negative is him coming off a knee injury, but otherwise this would be a perfect sell high moment.

If a team was willing, it would be perhaps the best way to move up without sacrificing a boatload of future picks

Why do you get a pass on doing "all kinds of research"?   I did "all kinds of research" for the facts I presented.   Back up your claims with facts, and maybe your opinions will get more respect.

FTR, Doug Whaley would have drafted Mahomes but he lost the power struggle that occurred after the Bills hired McDermott, and didn't have control of the 2017 draft.  He was fired a day or two after that draft.    Unfortunately, Mahomes or Allen, neither would have become the QB he is today because the Bills under Russ Brandon put the emphasis on putting butts in the seats rather than winning football games.   They had bottom feeder coaches because they wouldn't pay top money to coaches.  Allen's first QB coach was a guy who had no real experience developing a QB.  After Brandon was fired and Beane promoted, the Bills hired Ken Dorsey to develop Allen.

Mario Williams was signed for the same reason that Terrell Owens was signed in 2009: to put butts in the seats when fans were souring after more losing seasons.

Whether or not you respect me means nothing to me. Lions don't concern themselves with the opinions of sheep.

I think the rosters Russ Brandon and Dick Jauron (Marv Levy was figurehead GM during a couple of those years) built between 2006 and 2009 were infinitely superior to Beane's  2024 roster:   "Tentative Trent" Edwards ... Leodis McKelvin ... Robert Royal ... Derrick Dockery ... Josh Reed ... Langston Walker ...  Ryan Denney.

Anybody else getting a whiff of troll stink???

It's not troll at all. Don't make me do all kinds of research to show that basically we spent more on big contracts under Beane with little production than anyone.

And the whole point of free agents is they are a known quantity.

You want to argue draft is a crapshoot ok.

But these free agents deals are the way of the leveon bell signing.

So why does he get a pass? Why are the homers so mad I pointed out some failures?

This makes the Mario Williams deal look like a home run.

I'd love to eat crow here. I hope he totally just seahawked the Texans Russel Wilson style with the diggs move, but thats pretty unlikely.

He gets a "pass" because he's the best Bills GM since 90's Bill Polian.

The fact that he drafted several players that did not become all pros just ruins it for me.

    Is he though?

I bet Doug Whaley would have been better with Josh.

Whaley built the team that broke the drought. Without Josh.

    Polian at least made Superbowls.

Go look at other teams and you’ll have a different opinion

Please provide me with an example outside of Denver and Greenbay that have as much money tied up as us on no production

  14. Von miller contract

    Dawson Knox contract

    Stephen diggs contract

Defense line draft picks that never pan out

Defense tackle signings that are not good enough

    No reliable pass rusher

    Wyatt Teller give away

    Edmunds

    Star contract

Just curious why he is so highly regarded when these issues have come to roost fully
