People not mentioneing the fact that they got caught cheating again last year is weird to me. Brady was not good down the stretch and the difference between championships and first round burn outs is often small coaching decisions that will often come from little bits of information. Belicheck is a brilliant defensive mind but a mediocre offensive mind and he wonany close games based on cheating.

He’s tearing it up tonight vs UCF in bowl game. I think he Jets end up picking him at #2 which scares me as this kid could be the next Mahomes.
Not a shot at him but UCF defense has been garbage this year. No tackling and just awful, so take today with a grain of salt.

Arguing that a sign from fan outside a stadium is the ultimate Bills argument. Fergy we are not the crap team of the past 2 decades. This is old Bills mentality.

Alabama vs. Clemson will be a great game.
I want to be clear my issue is not with Bama and Clemson but how the heck does ND make the final four after getting destroyed in its final game? The four spot should have been an indefeated team. ND beat no one of quality besides Clemson which more than made up for it last week and maybe UNC, the rest of their schedule was crap.

Or, perhaps the teams that you mentioned should play Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M etc. in the regular season. Frankly, I doubt that they would do well against Tennessee or Auburn. This reminds me of when our Bills were terrible and folks would ask if Alabama could beat them. The answer was, and will always be no. The Jets would destroy Alabama. This is what the Tide would do to Cincy, etc. Then again, I could be wrong.
If the playoffs contained 8 teams, fans would soon want 16. My point is that these are kids who risk career threatening injuries on every play. They should not (imo of course) be expected to play 15 or 16 games.
I can only speak for UCF but they have tried to schedule power 5 teams and have beaten power 5 teams. Their issue is that Stanford was down, as was Maryland, as was Georgia Tech from when games were scheduled 4 years prior. You are correct that a normal Bama team would beat a normal UCF team handily but the question is not what would be normal but what would happen this year with Cincinnati or Coastal Carolina- who won a college world series a few years back..

Something about a Josh Allen prayer candle goes too far even for me.
I am not offended but I agree that this too far for me. I love sports but religion is more important.

Not true. Titans are a game back with tie-breaker on us. If they win next week they will remain so and week 17 will matter as we could still fall to the fourth seed.
If we, Titans and afc central are tied for wins we get 2. I am quite sure I am right. I have run too many scenarios through playoff machine

So, I took a look at the standings to see where we could be week 17 and everything from the 1 to 4 seed are in play. I wondered, is there any way we could be locked in by week 17 and rest our starters? There's only one, and it's a longshot to say the least.
Buffalo will be locked in as the second seed by week 17 *if*...
*Buffalo beats New England
*Pitt loses tonight and next week.
*The Titans lose next week
If all that happens, Buffalo goes into week 17 a game ahead of Pitt and at least a game ahead of Indy and holds tie-breakers with both. The Titans have the tie-breaker, but would be two games back. Even if Cleveland wins to move into a tie for the division, they would also be a game behind the Bills and the Bills also hold the tie-breaker over them. They would be assured no worse then #2, but Pitt's two losses would lock Buffalo out of #1.
So there ya go, only one path to Buffalo's week 17 matchup being meaningless to them, and that relies on four games playing out a certain way. I don't see us getting to rest our starters.
If steelers lose tonight and to colts and we win next week then week 17 does not matter.

To anyone that picked anyone other than the four who made it and TAM is being beyond naive. The first 3 questions for final 4 is:
1) how many fans you bringing? 2) how rich are they? 3) are you in a power 5? Iowa St(6-3) is ranked 10 ahead of louisiana that wrecked them and has only a loss to an undefeated top 12 team(coastal carolina). There is literally no argument that logically comes to that conclusion other than every major consideration being outside football.

this is the same team that barely beat the bengals and Washington last season.
fans need to realize we aren’t a very good team
I will agree this is the worst 11-3 team that has beat 3 definite playoff teams and two possible playoff teams in history. But truly even in October this team was clearly better than last year's team.

On pure numbers Mahomes and Rodgers are better but Rodgers is more based on consistency. I think Josh has that something special that puts him right with them in his ability to inspire teammates. I look forward to this years playoffs in a way I have not in long time.

I wonder if people that far north and south of Jacksonville really want to watch the unwatchable Jaguars. Wouldn’t people in Orlando prefer to see the Patriots and Dolphins game?
Yes but we are the largest market in Jax area do we get punished often.

The article definition is not close to right, simply saying above or below 500 is not the proper definition since an 7-9 team is not bad. I would say above 650 and below 350 which those games do not happen as often back to back. I would say the raiders vs Jets was a trap game and it almost happened.

If we win any game from here we win division regardless of anything else. Literally at this point if Miami loses anymore we win the division also.

I was talking about Belichick not Brady.
BB is not happy that Brady is getting credit for the run. He will stick at least next year and try and beat Brady to show who was more important.

The biggest change to me from 30 years ago is teams seem more willing to tailor the offense around the player (LJ, Murray) vs telling the player to learn the system. I think old school coaches were so afraid of appearing dumb they would never do anything out of the ordinary.

He appears to be a good coach during the week with game planning and getting guys ready. His in game adjustments seem to be where he has to improve but it is hard to rip him too hard seeing what he did last year, sometimes you just don't have the horses.

The only team concerning me is the Chiefs for obvious reasons. We will have to be at the top of our game scoring to beat them. The Browns yes have played mostly bad teams, their defense GB is opportunistic, and they run well. That said, it won’t be easy for Chubb to run when we are throwing 20+ yard passes down the field torching them. Sal made a good point this morning Allen was #1 for the season with the most passes of this distance in a game against the 49ers, a top 5 defense all year of any NFL team. That will take the Chiefs off their comfort zone and the game will be forced to be in the hands of Mayfield. He can’t compete with Allen nor can any other QB from the 18 class. The Chiefs are the only team we have to be seriously concerned how we can beat them. I just hope we have everyone including a healthy defense (Milano) and Brown. I’m a huge Bills Homer as all of you know, but I know we can beat any other AFC contender on a decent day. They also can beat us. Not cocky. Beating the Chiefs will be us at our best.
Shady, thanks for starting a good discussion thread.
Tim, I get it, but I guess being a competitor 100 years ago, I hate the record shows we were 10-6 last year when we would have been 11-5 without even trying if the starters played. It didn’t help us in the playoffs like it didn’t help the Dungy Colts. I’d rather have guys in a rhythm, even if it means the starter only play a half or 3 quarters. These guys are creatures of habit.Truly my dream scenario is where Josh plays a fist half puts up 5 TDs against the Pat's* and then Dolphins and we pull all starters at half. I understand the wanting to stay in rhythm but I would rather have rest for our important players. Coach McD might have to make some decisions and make one of us seem smart

I will eat ***** and die before I root for them in this game. I'm more worried about the Bills clinching a berth first, then we can worth about seeding.
I have said elsewhere home field advantage is much less important so if we clinch a week early we can have our bye week vs Dolphins

The two big questions to me are: does Brown show up for the playoffs and is Mackenzie ready to be our reciever to take the top off defenses? If brown ends the year with less than 500 yards including playoffs I think he is likely to be gone

EJ turned chicken$¢h¡tt under center, after he was injured. He never recovered. My impression, was he was that always happy to get off of the field.
I was happy that we moved on..
Your points are all valid but I think our coaching staff did him a huge disservice. Literally his best back to back games were his first two. That tells me they weakened his strengths without improving his good points.
