  1. Did you see the Jerry Hughes interview? He talks about how McDermott is installing a defense that fits the personnel, turns them loose, let's them play.Of course there needs to be a "system " but that isn't inherently bad. I think some are worried that he will stubbornly run his ""system" whether it fits the personnel or not. Don't know where those fears come from. As for the CB's,I saw the clip of McDermott :yes,we need Corners, we only have one starter,Darby, who seemed to regress under Ryan. Seymour is unproven, Johnson and Cromertie were signed, but they haven't accomplished much, then there are some no names. What did you think McDonald was talking about? We need corners, plain and simple, because we don't have any.

  2. Rumors of Titans interested in doing something THIS year..but they have way more cap money AND the second overall pick. the Bills would have to cut ,whom, to fit Rivers under the cap? Mario?Clay, Kyle, Dareus and Gilmore? It would defeat the purpose

  3. My opinion

We dont need Revis (who most likely will be signed by the patriots with all the money Brady just freed up for them

    and

    Hughes really needs to stay.....

Kyle fit the system just fine in Pettine's defense?

Brady's new deal doesnt save them any cap money. It's real complicated, but it doesn't make more cap money available.

  4. I dont want a GM with good "hind sight". I want a GM (and FO) with good "fore sight" ;the ability to project/forecast a player's production and value. THAT seperates the best from the mediocre.Anybody can look back and say" we coud have had (XXXXX) with that pick;look how good he turned out"...etc. I am OK with Whaley being THE man for a year so we can fairly evaluate him. if we fix the HC,OC, QB and O Line, keep D intact, sign oun valuable FA's..I will be happy.

  5.

In his entire professional career, Manuel has had one coach, one offensive coordinator, and NO quarterback coach. And his coordinator is a known knucklehead, and his head coach spent more time with the line.

Yeah, it kind-of makes sense to say "Let's see if a different coach changes matters."

Bills brought in TWO more offensive assistants this year:including QB Coach Todd Downing.

  6. it was NOT QUITE the same O line as last year...Glenn and Wood returned at LT and C,respectively, but there was a revolving door at LG,RG and RT. 4 new guys (Williams and the 3 rookies),. Marrone should have left Pears and Urbik on the right side and concentrated on fixing LG No continuity to speak of.

  7. It;s good for the Pegulas to make connections, perhaps for future needs..but,at what point might candidates feel exploited and think the interview is a waste of time?Or that Pegs is just picking their brains?Might it look like Pegula (and Whaley?) have NO plan and just hope to get lucky?

I am not worried..though, there arent that many openings in the NFL (yet?) and there are plenty of good candidates for the Bills to look at. No hurry.

And,it's obvious they arent interested in a college guy?

  8. Some lesser pickups were helpful ;P Scmidht, TE Gray, S Rambo, KR Thigpen. I would like to see Whaley work for at least one year.lead the transition..maintain some continuity, work his plan. With Brandon,Marrone,Nix, Littman,Overdorf,et.al out of his hair. Put the onus on Whaley so there are no questions about who made what moves. He has been adding pieces, and yes, swung and missed a coople times. (WR M.Williams,G Williams, LB Rivers etc).

Now that we have Pegulas's money (assuming he will spend it, let Whaley go to work and get the Bills the best HC,a QB,and fix the O line. I dont think there is much left to do to ge this team into the playoffs. Keep Schwarz and the defensive coaches. Plus, we get Alonzo and Mckelvin back.

Let Whaley, without distraction, disfunction and interfernece, run the show and see what happens. He might surprise us.
