As a fan I don't care for it, but seeing as how he's a real person with a chance of a lifetime I don't blame him. We can all speculate about what we think we should or would do, but if he gets a back injury or something similar he could go from being guaranteed $10+ million to making a small fraction of that.
If I were already a multi-millionaire I might think it was worth the risk to chase college football glory, but if I have one realistic shot of being set up for life, a college football game, even a championship, is nowhere near as important. Not even close. That ring's not going to pay the rent or put the kids through school.
+1
I would have taken him off my board.
Good thing you're not in charge of anything.
When you are expected to do a job, you do it to the best of your ability.
Don't you get paid to do a job?

Clowney was guaranteed 14 million. He had an NCAA sponsored policy for 5 mil. He could have gone outside the NCAA insurance plan for over 10 million easily.
That policy only covered career ending injuries, not loss of value. Plus he plays a position where a $100 million contract would not be far fetched, no reason to get hurt when you can set you family up for life.
-
When did a national championship become nothing? I'm sure he was insured, so his "family" would be taken care of.
I hate what he did. I saw him give up on a play in overtime that decided the game (SC ended up winning it, but though no effort of his)
Look up the NCAA insurance plans for these guys, then come back here and explain how that money would come remotely close to his guaranteed money in the NFL.

Or Brad Johnson with the Bucs or Trent Dilfer with the Ravens...
I didn't know the Bills had a historically great defense.
Right there with you. There is no good reason why Orton can't continue to play here, and play well, for 5 or more years. And it would allow the Bills to be much better in the short term (obviously) as well as the long term in that they won't be forced to overdraft a QB to anoint.
The ever-urgent need to fill the title of "franchise guy" is a trap that franchises continually fall into... if you can get an Andrew Luck, fine. But do the SB rings sported by Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, & Mark Rypien have less luster?
Orton is who I hoped he was, and more. I have zero issues with having him lead the Bills huddle for the foreseeable future.
This may be true, but like Manning, he does not take many hits because he knows where he wants to go with the ball and gets rid of it quickly, usually in about 3 seconds. Or are you saying you really need a guy who is athletic and can scramble so he can hold the ball longer? And make bad decisions after the passing windows have all closed?
I've seen Orton have 0 awareness on several plays each game he played that end with either a fumble or near fumble.

What is there to think about? She bought hot coffee and got burned when she spilled it on herself, and then sued McDonalds for her error. Couldn't disagree more, Coffee is hot, bro! Are you going to Genesee because all of those cream ales gave you a hangover? But maybe this discussion belongs in another part of the board.
Have you actually read about the case? It sounds like you're talking out of your ass.
-
Anyone who thinks the McDs case was frivolous either can't read, is an idiot, doesn't have any common sense or all three. McDougals knew the coffee was too hot to serve safely but continued to do so because they didn't think anyone would see them. The plaintiff only wanted her medical bills covered, Maccas laughed and went to court where they got their asses handed to them.

Looks like a bunch were recently added to NetFlix, watched the Big East one last night and it was great. Never knew that John Thompson was such an old school troll, when he wore the same sweat as the St Johns coach for their big 1 vs 2 game I was rolling.

And I will boldly concur. First round picks are precious, but great players are even more difficult to come by. A bird in the hand... First round picks are a gamble. Sammy was as close to a sure thing as it gets. Just my opinion.
Agreed, I was on the Sammy train early and have been thoroughly impressed so far but KBenjamin has done well also.

According to the NFLN panel of schmucks, Benjamin is superior to Watkins with everyone chasing him for OROY...
Wonder if the same sentiments are echoed after this award?
Michael Irvin just called Benjamin his rookie of the YEAR.Lolol. What a clown. I wonder how many lines of coke he did prior to that statement.
I'm sorry but Benjamin isn't in Sammy's league. He's big and physical but get ZERO separation. They throw it to him evey play too. He's a nice player but they are not the same.Benjamin's upside is Vincent Jackson. Sammy's is Larry Fitzgerald or higher. I think all 32 teams would take Sammy over Benjamin.
KBen is having a very nice season and his large catch radius is a big help to Cam. Sammy is great but so is Benjamin, pretty sad to see so many of you mocking KB to make Sammy seem better, quick hint he doesn't need it.

He had to have known that wouldn't end well...
Yeah I hate when players interact with fans and try to give away free stuff. He should have known the Jets fan base is composed of Jimmy Spags and his inbred family.

Oh man a thread where rags and gug are both wrong, my favorite!

23k! Get that money!!!!!!
seems to be one game a week that cleans house. don't pick the favorite in that game!!!! there's my sound advice lol.
Yeah I didn't trust Romo and went with the Broncos. This week everyone will be on Seattle and Cincinnati, I feel an upset coming in 1 of them.
-
Because of this comment, I reconsidered the Dallas pick and their heated rivalry with the Skins, and picked Cleveland!
Thank you sir! Thank you Skins.5 ppl left and 10g's on the table!!!
Oh that's nice, that's real nice. I'm pumped that 200 something are left with 62k in prizes including 23k for first but yours looks pretty damn sweet as well.
-
That's usually a solid rule to follow but this week was a landmine. In my pool where you can pick the same team multiple times I took Denver because I didn't like any games and figured I'd rather trust the GOAT QB at home than Romo. Now down to 250/3900 entries.

Ballast Point's Sculpin IPA
I like you. Sculpin is by far my favorite beer.

Where was he before that single play on a kickoff return?
Seriously, I want to know. I think CJ is there, too.
Comment said he hasn't been relative since 2011, a TD in the Super Bowl and 2 carriers for 45 yards seems like a relevant game.
-
I don't know why people think Harvin is a threat. Boggles my mind. He hasn't been relevant since 2011.
Looked pretty relevant in the Super Bowl

If you're having RB troubles look to stash Sims from TB.

Thanks for sharing, really insightful and hard hitting analysis. Can't wait until part 2 "I'm sick of win loss records"

I like all of this

What has Suck for Luck ever won? He's a loser. NoT no, but HELL NO !!!
GO BILLS !!
Come on man!

I vote against it. I'm with 4merper4mer in this one. I don't enjoy sleeping in someone else's urine or fecal matter that has been dried up and crusty on the bed.
Keep a look out for mattress stores and sales. Usually happens all the time.
You'd be better off going to a mattress store and asking to buy the floor models if yiur looking for a cheap fix. Much better than piss, s%#t, puke, bed bugs, dust mites and who knows what else is out there.
Or you can buy the ised ones. Chances are, they are cleaned an alright. But that's just me. I wouldn't.
Are you always wrong?
I'll ask my buddies in hospitality what the procedure is for disinfecting bedding.

That so many people can't figure out the OPs intent makes me question the intelligence level of this board. Pretty sad to see how far this place has fallen.
-
A lot of people just read the thread title and respond. It's a reasonable question you raise.
The irony of your condescension is you completely missed what he stated in plain English.
Shows the reading comprehension of the board and the mods who commented. It's a good thread with so many people bashing the Sammy trade.

Thanks for sharing, sounds like a great time and I am definitely jealous.
