When you've got a community of underprivileged people trying to scrape by in the ghettos of Connecticut, stuff like this is bound to happen.
-
That would be something if Vick won this. *yikes*

Doesnt look like he's dying anytime soon!

Donald Lee just got cut as well. Would be a good pickup for us if we were to sign em.
I think I saw that Daniel Graham was also released
-
Whoa! Is he in Buffalo for a visit yet?

If he's a strong safety with the impact of Palomolu or Woodson, we should be ecstatic if he's there at 3. You think it's a coincidence the teams with the best strong safeties met in the Super Bowl?
Is Charlie Peprah one of the best strong safeties?

My first reaction was “Well G Wilson must not be eligible” But I guess that’s not accurate. I cannot believe this team thinks Whitner is better than Wilson. The proof is in the pudding. Wilson makes plays (TFL, INTs, Forced Fumbles, Covers the player he is assigned to cover) while Whitner gets scored on for TD after TD after TD. If he starts for us next year I am taking Gronkowski in the 2nd round of my fantasy draft. Sure Whitner tackles a guy after no one in our front 7 did but that doesn’t make him great – that means he does his job in a slightly above average way. I don’t mind keeping him as a backup S but WTF JUST SIGN THE BEST SAFETY WE HAVE ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If we let him walk GW is going to go to a much better team, with a much stronger D, and be much better than Whitner. We will then be screaming about how we let the guy go. His success wont be because “he has better players around him so obviously he looks goo” It will be because he is better than Whitner and is a good player all by himself.
The RFA tender has little to do with the Bills thinking that Whitner >>>>>>> Wilson. This is about protecting an asset. There WILL be a market for Whitner and with this tender, plus his status as a former first round draft pick, the Bills could receive a nice bit of compensation in the form of a high draft pick or two in return. Plus it sets a market price for Whitner's services which will likely be more realistic than it sounds like he thinks it is and that could be used as a basis to sign him long term at a reasonable price or wave bye-bye to him if another team wants to overpay.
Wilson was undrafted, therefore the only way the Bills could receive compensation would be if they tendered him at a very high amount and paid him a 2011 salary that is way above his talent level.

I'd ease up a bit. His flashy 40-time will have little bearing on the Bills deciding to pull the trigger on him. There's lots of game tape to go through plus interviews that will have much more bearing.
That said, if they draft a DB @ #3 then they are hopeless and haven't learned anything and will continue to suck for at least another 4-5 years.
-
Is Wilson really that good, or just the best of a sub-par bunch?
I think it's mostly that he represents good value for what you get compared to Whitner.
-
So they will be Bills for the 2012 season? unless a tram trades for on of them?
This just gives the Bills an opportunity to match any offer for these guys or be compensated when and if another team does sign them away. Not a lot of assurance that they will be back...especially w/o a CBA in place.

Never heard that song, but I like it...Johnny Cash's voice could really convey the nature of the song.
Really sorry to hear about the little guy not making it Sounds like you have a heckuva nice family there
Thanks bud. That whole Unearthed series of albums with Johnny Cash are really powerful. You can really get the sense that he realizes that it's the last that he's going to produce. It's one of the most honest sets of songs I know of. Kind of like the last Warren Zevon album. Keep Me In Your Heart gets to me too..
Death is a B word.

Huge fan of the Johnny Cash/Fiona Apple version of Cat Stevens' Father and Son. I can't find a live performance...just the lame fan versions with still shots of the performers but here you go...
To make a long story short, our first kid (a boy) didn't make it full term and this song really got to me at the time.
PS - Happy to report that we've had a girl (3 yrs old) and boy (3 mos old) since.

Problem with this story is that I'm not sure who's the protagonist and who's the antagonist.

He looks a lot taller on hockey skates.

I'm in the middle of watching it now through Netflix streaming. Hopefully I'll get a chance to finish it one night this week.

Too bad it had to go down this way. From all accounts he was the anti-Haynesworth and he tried his best to fit into the new scheme but it just didn't work out.

I'm drinking a pint of Arrogant Bastard. I should have known a beer named after me would be just fantastic.

Finally got me some Nugget Nectar! Drinking one now. Super fresh (bottled 2/7/11) and delicious
If you guys are hop fans and are looking for another seasonal then go get some Sierra Nevada Bigfoot. Good stuff.

I just registered today, but it was just out of the blue.
So maybe I'm an outlier in the 40 people who were in the queue. Sorry I couldn't come up with an explanation.
Welcome!

Dude. I think that is it. It all started minutes after Rosen-boy posted that...
