Our defense held the NFL's leading rusher to a measly 77 yards rushing and a 3.5 average (both season lows for Martin - he was averaging 141 yards per game)). Also held him to his 2nd lowest receiving yardage on the season.
They also held the Jets to their lowest point total of the season (they were averaging 27 points per game).
The defense allowed the FG at the end and allowed a few too many first downs. But overall they played well. Take away the touchdown on the bad PI call in the endzone, and their totals look even better.

Right. That's fine and I understand what you are saying. I guess my point is that
this defense, although probably still very good, is not going to keep us in every
game and will get tired in the fourth quarter. They are very prone to being killed
with big plays also.
Hence, they are statistically slightly better than average. This should improve
IMO after we get injured secondary players back, however to late.

I hear you. It's just that free agents cost money, which we seem to be OK with
regarding the cap. I just have lost all confidence in TD to build the line and a
free agent DE is going to be very expensive. I would have liked to see us
in a position to draft for quality/value after 4 years with the current Gm as opposed to need.
-
Problem # 5: I forgot. Our secondary is very old, as I posted last week.
Three of our previoulsy starting/injured DB's are 30, 33 and 30 years of age.
-
Four years into the TD era, we are possibly one of the worst teams in
the league. I think the 2004 Bills are slightly better than this, but not much.
The problem I have looking forward is last year we were supposed to make the
playoffs, and this year we were supposed to be setup to make a real run and
make some noise.
Problem # 1: The O-line needs a major overhaul.
Problem # 2: We are going to be starting a "rookie" QB next year.
Problem # 3: The D-line still can not generate preasure on the QB and I don't
know if Pat Williams and Sam Adams are going to be effective two years from now.
Problem # 4: We traded away our # 1 pick next year.
This is looking like bad because this team was built to be winning now and
obviously we are a long way away from that.
Sorry.

Where are all the guys that we trying to convince everyone that this O-line
had talent and JM was going to get the most out of these guys and turn this
whole thing around.
I don't see them posting much anymore.
They know who they are.

Bills offense:
28 th yards/game
31 st points/game
Bills defense:
15 th yards/game
14 th points/game
Very average defense and the offense is as bad as ever, maybe worse?
Oh yeah, leading the league in sacks allowed.

I knew Evans was playing better than Reed, but almost 4 times the yardage on less than 2 times the catches, and a 24.3 YPC average?! Yow. I didn't like the part about splitting time at starting WR and the "they're both starters in our mind" comment. Hopefully it's just them keeping Reed's spirits up, but maybe a good benching will send a wakeup call.
I agree. The hell with keeping his spirits up. This draft pick was a waste of time,
the 36th overall pick.
2002 Pick Name Pos. School
1. Mike Williams T Texas (4)
2a. Josh Reed WR LSU (36)

So we loose to better teams? Part of the reason the our opponents arecords
are better is because they played us!
-
He's under contract and needs to play somewhere on the line if not center.

This article has been a hot bed of talk. So I put a poll up on Bills Daily, sound off on your opinion!Bills Daily
Cool. I'll exercise my right to vote!
Thanks. B)

X. Tom Donahoe must go. Looking pretty good right now
When will the "Crypt Keeper" cut him loose. Don't wait for the
annual winter meeting at his home. Too late by that point.

What do you mean who's Tony Bogyo? I'm (er, I mean, he's) famous!
Kidding aside, I'm just a Bills fan like anyone else. Some people enjoy airing their views on boards like TBD (I post from time to time), others like to write a weekly column for a site like Bills Daily.
Whether you agree with me or not I appreciate everyone who takes the time to read what I have to say. I enjoy writing and I hope people enjoy reading.
I enjoy your writing. Seems to me to be rather objective and to the point.
Thanks.

I did read it. He also complained that Gregg Williams' first name has too many 'G''s.
Fine journalism, that.
I don't think this amounts to much more than an amateur Jerry Sullivan column. Forgive me for finding it a waste of time.
We all know Donahoe's formula has not met much success. We also know that this board will be jumping for joy and come right back on 'board if the Bills miraculously win the next three games.
Cool. I guess I was anticipating these types of articles sooner or later, and
it appears that it will be sooner. Also, I do concur with his views of Donahoe.

You are complaining about the guy without reading the article?
At least he took the time to write it.

Kind of rhymes: Do Na Hoe, Needs To Go!!!

I've got tickets for an upcoming game and really don't know if I want
to spend six or seven hours on a plane to see them this year.
Kind of unmotivated.
-
Do those of you holding season tickets find it harder and harder to give the
tickets you don't use away?
-
Bills likely play Ravens without secondary. Ours that is.

These 2 guys should look to be traded before the deadline....mostly for 2 reasons:
1) Both have depth behind them 2) Both play dumb football
Every team needs to take advantage of cheaper quality talent on their roster..right now the Bills have that in defensive backfield with the progress of Mcghee and Kevin Thomas and the surprising additions of Greer & Baker.
Mcghee stepped in under Vincent last week and did just fine...
umb players like henry & Clemens tease you with their talent...but in the end kill you with their mistakes....Clemens not batting the ball away in game 1...Henry missing assignments...
Trade them while they still have value and replace them with smart steady players
Greenbay just traded mckenzie CB for a #2 and a backup QB
Playoff teams that take an injury at CB or RB will be looking to trade before the deadline...
He got LIT UP! Are you serious?

You know what, I see your point of living in the day, however we've been looking
forward to this team for four years and it's just not going to happen.
