  1. Suggestion: next time, you make an "obvious" joke include a  so others can understand how obvious it is to you. People have been suggesting trading JP for years now, and your "obvious joke" is thus easily confused with simple stupidity.

He included some VERY obvious clues that it was a joke:

    1. No NFL teams trade for gloves. (Maybe a case of athletic tape for the training room, but not tape.) I'd better include this <_<;) so you know that was a joke.

    2. You can't trade a UFA because you can't get any trade return for a guy who is a UFA...even gloves...definitely not tape Better add a few more :devil:

  2. Hey!

Hey my father has a 6th grade education and is a vet too boot... He would be insulted! ;) He sounds nothing like these guys... He is actually compassionate. Maybe the guys you are ripping on were beat as a child by their father?

    <_<

I hear ya EiI. Notice I didn't say ALL old men with 6th grade educations.

  3. Greg the Bunny, Aired on Fox for only a season. Seth Green, Eugene Levy, Sarah Silverman, and a bunch of puppets. I have it on DVD and seen all the episodes a few times.

I was also a fan of (although it aired a few seasons and then quickly canceled) Titus, with Christopher Titus, based losely off of his life and childhood.

Greg the Bunny is a good call.

  4. Isn't it about time for another disappearing act? You know in that "wanna be Bohemian but we know the truth" kinda way? In any event, I'll let you know when I have a modicum of respect for your world "view".

That's some funny s#it, AD. "Wanna be Bohemian"? Outstanding! I like it.

Well, I have to say, with respect to having no respect for one's opinions or world view, the feeling is mutual. Haters who complain about everything, and offer nothing, are a dime a dozen. I know a lot of old men, with 6th grade educations, who sound just like you. Whining like spoiled little girls because the world doesn't work the way they want it to. Boo fuc#in hoo, AD. Just complain way, as the world passes you bye.

Maybe after the apocalypse your kind will be relevant again.

  5. And oh so different from the mindless bashing of Bush for everything from Dick Jauron on down.

But this? This is somehow "different"...which is exactly AD's point.

Bush was actually in office, making bad decisions. That's how. Some of you guys are so pumped to bash Obama you can't even wait until he has been in office for an hour or two.

  6. I am pissed off, but more importantly, I don't see any of them pissed off. They are all so passive about it. The formula hasn't produced, and isn't likely to looking at next year's schedule. I remember Jim Kelly being interviewed his first year when they sucked. He was sour grapes. I remember him saying he had never lost at any level, and wasn't used to it, but even more importantly, HE DIDN'T LIKE IT! Who gives a sh-- on this team enough to say it????? Don't tell me Kelly's quote and attitude didn't have something to do with what followed shortly after, for several years I might add.

Kelly wasn't responding to a question about his thoughts regarding the rehiring of his pathetic head coach. And, while Kelly's statements often showed his bravado, they weren't the reason he had it. Some bold and terrific players are softer spoken, or not well spoken.

If you don't like a player because of the way he plays, fine. To believe that talk = ability, or heart, is crazy.

When you think about it, a quote that basically says "we like coach Jauron" and "it gives us continuity" could be the safest way to say, "well, I guess having some continuity is a positive, if we have to keep this limp Dick".

  7. I agree that he should get a new contract, but at what price? Do you pay him the same as Long (the rookie LT from Miami) at $11.5 million a year? That's too much. I'd say $7 to $8 million tops.

I think that's probably the right starting range. He should get, as a base, what a decent starting LT makes. Then, put incentives/bonuses/escalators for making weight, all workout (or whatever is legal to include), camp, etc. Then, have the contract include escalators to bring him to the elite level, if he plays at the elite level. # of sacks, probowl appearances (yes that is problematic), ALL Pro selections, etc.

Signing bonus big enough to make him happy, and not so big it hurts if you have to let him go, if he decides to hold out two years after signing the contract. The top end of the package should sound HUGE for his PR, while the guarantee should be more realistic for the Bills.

  8. Why bother waiting until the guy takes office and starts to help make policy? Better to start bashing now. That's especially true for those who have nothing of substance to offer, and will bash no matter what Obama decides to do.

Your usuall outstanding worthless post, AD!

  9. Sorry, but it's discouraging listening to the stupidity about not wanting to "blow things up" and "rebuild again". It's like a hurricane in a trailer park. All it does its re-arrange sh--. The players would be better off keeping their mouths shut. Keeping Jauron another year just took another year away from the careers of those who stay. Careful what you wish for. This is like the final hole from the movie Tin Cup. Some day, some team is going to beat all odds and clear the water with Dick if he keeps getting jobs he never should have been given. Then someone will say they believed in him all along, just prior to going 6-10 the following season.

You're frustrated and pissed off, we get it. So am I. But, there are very few things a player can say, or not say, in this situation that wouldn't upset most of you guys. Saying something negative would seem like the player was not taking responsibility and dissing the coach, as would saying nothing. These guys aren't usually the best-spoken people in the world. They are trying to give a positive answer (as they have been taught for years) not create a fuss, and get out of the interview ASAP. They are really in a no-win situation here.

Judging a player from quotes like that is like judging them by the color of the shoes they wear...it is meaningless.

  10. Nobody should judge the performance of any player that has been in this Bills' system over the last 3 seasons. Jauron and his band of merry idiots couldn't develop a picture with a digital camera. Go to training camp just once, and watch the ineptitude in action. Nobody is accountable for anything. They simply fall back in line and wait their turn to go again. The more I read about the comments from the players about being glad DJ is staying, the more I dislike them. No winner in the bunch.

Yes, the players should all say publicly that their HC blows and should be fired. That would make them seem like better players.

    Good one, cwo.

    :lol::thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup::wallbash:

  11. Just out of curiosity- what were the departments and did you have the option of refusing their services? (i.e cafeteria service, candy stripers, et al)

If you examine a bill from a medical procedure that includes a hospital stay, and try to make sense of it, your head is likely to explode. There are a huge number of detailed charges (without an explanation that most regular people can understand). It turns out that, at least in the few I have seen, a Tylenol tablet is billed at something like $10 each (or was it $100?). But...don't worry, because this has little to do with what you, or the insurance company pays.

A year, or so, ago, my Father had a procedure that required a stay in the local hospital. The total bill was over $50,000. My father paid something like $1,000 and I think the insurance company paid about $6,000. (I really wish I had a copy of the actual charges, so the detail would be correct, here.)

So, I assume that for any reports that analyze health care, this is viewed as a $50,000+ procedure...when there was no way, no how, that the hospital was ever going to see anything near $50,000. I assume (but have no knowledge about) the hospital uses the difference between their charges and what they were paid, to show a deficit. I think they use the same accounting procedures the Hollywood studios use.

  12. I was never a Leonhard basher. I thought he was fine, as a backup safety, and could serve as a returner too, if necessary. He was smallish, slowish, but smart and played good position football. I thought he was a better backup safety than Wilson, and I was blasted by a few here for saying it.

BUT, I didn't cry when he left, as the Bills certainly didn't need him in the return game with the plethora of talented options on the team, now. I also thought they drafted Wendling for depth at safety.

Even though Wendling is never used at the safety spot, so we are back to only Wilson, as a realistic #2, the Bills would be no better of a team, or have had any more wins this season, had Leonhard remained with the team.

    So, get over it.

  13. As I don't live in WNY, I don't contribute much, financially, to the Bills as it is, these days. i try to make a game or two a year (couldn't this year) and will continue to do so. That is about the only direct contribution I make.

Just as an FYI, deciding to stop buying Bills merchandise (of which I own little) hurts the Bills VERY little, as the revenue is shared with the other NFL teams (except Dallas). Discontinuing the DTV Direct Ticket doesn't really hurt the Bills much as, again, that is shared money.

So, make all the symbolic gestures you want, but don't fool yourself into thinking that your actions are making a financial statement at OBD. The only way to stop supporting the Bills financially, is to stop buying tickets, spending money at the stadium, etc.

  14. OK, the podbean worked (w/o registration) when I used IE.

Listened to about 4 minutes or so, and stopped because there was no content and I don't have that much time/interest to just let people blather. If there is actual content, I'd recommend getting to it more quickly.

The presentation, OTOH was good, I thought. You guys have a nice rapport and sound good and relaxed.

I'm not sure who your audience is, and find it hard to believe that many people would want to listen to 2 guys talk about nothing for an hour...but, morning radio talk suggests that some people are entertained by that. I guess it isn't for me, but may be interesting to others.

BTW "trail magic"...isn't that when other hikers/campers leave some psilocybin mushrooms behind, for others to enjoy?

  15. Let me guess...more crappy videos blaring at me that I didn't want to see in the first place?

Just the opposite, or so it seems. No video. Clean and simple.

I still have scripts blocked from a couple of urls, but I don't think it makes a difference on this page.

  16. Other countries don't have this problem because they have institutes that evaluate how effective a treatment is.

Are you in favor of the institutes that other countries have? If so, you should note that those countries also have some sort of universal health care. There is no reason this country should be the only one that can't make that system work. Your arguments, quite frankly, have little to do with the feasibility of universal health care, in this country. While you aren't saying it, I sense you have some overriding objection to it, other than the expense.
