  1. awesome post Kelly. 4-0, 0-4 is a very thin line right now. IMO, the next 2 weeks will really show is who we are and where we are headed this season.

It's going to take longer than 2 weeks. CLE and CIN are both currently 2-2, with both losing games they were predicted to win and winning games they were predicted to lose. Those teams are just as large question marks as BUF, so the next 2 are not going to tell much in the short term.

  2. not to rain on our parade, but it seems clear that Manuel is a work in progress who must progress significantly, for success going forward.

Yes, we won, but it was a 5 interception game that we barely won, and EJs stats look fairly horrendous.

    If we had lost....

I think counting on 5 INTs is not a formula that will win us too many more games.

the Bills need to develop a killer instinct (the whole team needs what Kiko has!) and EJ needs to be a LOT better. Hopefully it is possible.

    WAIT A MINUTE!

Are you saying that EJ is a rookie QB and we should expect growing pains? He's not going to the pro bowl in his first season? He has a rookie NFL head coach? Or maybe a rookie NFL offensive coordinator? And are you insinuating that there is also an entirely new defensive scheme that players are adjusting to?

Because if that's what you are saying, thanks for sharing! I doubt most of us were aware of these things.

  3. EJ getting more reps can only be a good thing. I was just thinking if he's out until November or something they will probably want some security and a veteran back up. I feel like EJ, Kolb and Tuel is a good mix. If you are down a man than you need to try to replace what he brings. In Kolb's case, it is a smart guy that can make some plays if called upon. Strangely, Fitz probably fits the bill really well but obviously not an option. Is Hasselback on a roster?

Fitz who? Because it sure wasn't the guy named Ryan Fitzpatrick who was the QB for the Bills these past few years. He had many chances to make plays when called upon, being the starting QB and all, and he schnockered every one.

The wiki page picture of the Bills former Ryan Fitzpatrick about sums up his ability to make plays:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_Fitzpatrick

I am curious as to this other Fitz you mentioned though, because if he is smart and can make plays then CHAMPIONSHIP!

  4. For everyone who ends up getting Sunday Ticket Max "for free", I would highly advise logging into your online account with DirecTV and verifying it. I spoke with a rep in Retention yesterday morning who gave me ST Max for free, but when I checked my account last night they had only given me the regular ST. So, after one more call to them and calling them on their bait and switch, the second rep gave me ST Max for free (verified it!), as well as $23 off per month for 12 months in addition to $10 off our premium movie channels for 6 months.

The opening salvo I have used the past few years is to mention seeing all the football forums light up with people getting ST Max for free this time of year and that I refuse to be one of the suckers who subsidizes it for everyone else. Then mention canceling if I don't get it for free. No negotiations are necessary after that, which shortens the amount of time you have to spend on the call. I only wish that line worked with the IRS!

  5. Before the last pick, we had 4. SJ, Woods, TJ, Brad Smith, and Early.

So this would make 6......We don't need 6 when we still have needs at G, CB, and TE

Quinn Early came out of retirement? To bad Easley couldn't give us Early's first two years of productivity.

Pay attention to your own sig, Derek,"I will be following the decisions made by the organization with optimism until further notice. I apologize for the inconvenience". The draft is not the only place to fill holes from. There are plenty of players available through FA, UDFA, and impending roster cuts.

  6. Yet they are in the playoff hunt year in and year out.

Since 2000, the Cowboys have had only 3 seasons of 10+ wins. In the last 3 years they haven't been better than 8-8. They haven't won a playoff game beyond the wild-card round since 1995 (the exact same as Buffalo). The only reason they were in the hunt lately is because their division has been crappy. Remember 2010, when Seattle won their division with a losing record (7-9)? That same level of suckitude has been the recent history of the NFC East (during the regular season at least). Dallas isn't a good team and has not been one in awhile. Dallas is in a division where 9 wins could very well be 1st place, whereas in the AFC East 11-12 wins is needed to just be even with New England.
