I understand the need for something like the Rooney Rule but would he be getting looks if not for that rule? The jump from position coach to head coach is a big one. I would want to see what he could do as a coordinator before hiring him personally

you guys are underestimating how many times we will punt! my guess is 518 total passing and punting

have to blame Doug Whaley. as much good as he has done, he really screwed us by leaving us with only EJ as the backup and getting rid of key players like Fred and Thigpen (the latter he brought back when he discovered what a bone head move that was). We lost the Jacksonville and Cinci games because we had no QB and RB depth and our kick and punt return game has been atrocious all season which really hurts in the battle of field position. also, it was a big swing and a miss on getting any kind of OL help in the offseason and nobody is quite sure why we spent all of that money on Jerome Felton. he's done a lot of good too, i don't want to discount that (Darby and Karlos were nice picks). but those misses might have cost us the season and I also agree with Crossman. i've been saying it since day 1 when Marrone hired his buddy who was about to be fired for being one of the worst ST's coaches in the NFL. i've never seen an NFL roster like ours where a team has so many dedicated special teams players (Easley, Boobie, Sanborn, Gay, Thigpen) and we still stink. it's basically a band-aid because Crossman is such a bad ST coach. we saw when Gay or Thigpen weren't in the lineup how bad ST's was. even with all of these guys we are a below avg ST team.

I think it's going to come down to the final week of the season unfortunately. Win and we are in. Lose and we need KC to lose too and then we hold the tie breaker over the Jets. So basically we need to win on Sunday or we aren't making the playoffs. No pressure though!

i really don't understand the "blocking" skilled position player at all to be honest. if they aren't going to touch the ball then why not just get a fast offensive lineman that is actually good at blocking?

I don't think we have the coaching, the discipline, or the leadership to go all the way. We might sneak into the playoffs but isn't the goal to win the Super Bowl? We have a very very long way to go

Chiefs game is always tough. Doesn't matter if they are good and we stink or vice versa. Throw the records out every time because it's going to be a close hard fought game. Just so happens this time we are both 5-5 and playing for a playoff spot. Biggest game of the year (until next week's game)

He made some good plays too. He's supposed to be a versatile backup that can play corner or safety. He wasn't brought here to start. He's playing as well as he can for him. Because Aaron got hurt and Duke sucks he is forced into a position where he has to hold down that spot and he's doing an OK job imo

Rex needs to be more composed. He's a loose cannon and that lack of leadership and professionalism is spilling onto the field and affecting the players. We already have a serious lack of leadership on this team. Add to that a coach that can fly off the hinges at any moment and it's a recipe for disaster

1) that is against the rules you can't do that, refs should not have marked the ball ready until both sides had made their substitutions 2) i wish we had coaches smart enough to call that play. our idiot coaches had us huddling as the clock is ticking at the end of the game and not lining up or snapping the ball until the very last second on basically every single play

This offense has a split personality. How can we score 33 or whatever the first time vs these guys and look the way we do against decent defenses like the Dolphins but then we go out there on national TV 2 weeks in a row and look like we have never completed a pass before in our lives. That was painful to watch. Sammy has every reason to be frustrated. This offense is regressing

thanks to Whaley for single handily ruining our return game. Thigpen was pretty good. now not only do we have zero return game but its actually a detriment to the team

that play pretty much summed up the differences between these teams. one team is well coached and the other is completely undisciplined. embarrassing
