Justin Jefferson was drafted #22 overall.
Sounds like wishful thinking. Why doesn't everyone just draft the best WR in the NFL at pick 22?

puka, Jefferson and Chase all had over 1400 yards in their rookie year.So we just have to hope we get a Puka in round 5. Sounds easy enough

We absolutely are. No doubt about it.
We barely did this year and we are exponentially worse at multiple positions. 9-8 season incoming!

How is it not an F?
Because this is a Bills forum and the Bills are an amazing franchise (cricket sound as we cut to an empty trophy case)

The top 3 WR's will go in the top 10. We aren't going up that high without seriously negatively impacting this team for years, worse than $30 mil dead cap or Von Miller's contract

Jamar Chase and Jordan Jefferson back to back rookie seasons. Puka Nacua this past year. OBJ and Michael Thomas.
Jordan Addison has 900 yards and 10 TDs last year.
Would you consider Zay Flowers 800+ yards and 5 TDs a good rookie season?
Those are good..not WR1 numbers. Diggs averages 110 catches and 1300 yards I believe

A *Minnesota 2nd in 2025.
Minnesota, being one of the worst teams in the league. Their QB will either be a Rookie or Sam Darnold. Terrible Defense and the Offensive Line and RB are terrible too.
So it's equivalent to a high 3rd. Still not good enough imo

A lot of homers on this board. Any other board this trade is an F

or he's a better version of his dad and the Bills win Super Bowls
Name a rookie WR that was that good. It takes young WR's 2-3 seasons to be good let alone a WR1 for a Superbowl team

Short term...D
However we now have an extra 2nd round pick and this trade clears about $27M off next year's Salary Cap. Let's see what they do with all the assets the trade brought first.
Bills saying we aren't a good enough team this year, see you next year

And then Harrison tears his ACL and the entire franchise is ruined for the next 10 years

The Chiefs just won the Super Bowl as the #15 in offensive scoring. They were the #3 seed and didn't turn it on until the playoffs

Houston is building their team right. Going all in on OFFENSE. This is an offensive league and whoever scores the most points wins. The Bills are trying to run the ball more and play good defense. Someone needs to tell this isn't 2005

Yes, I just don't see how they can climb that high in the draft to get a player like that.
They can't

It’s not a bad trade given his age and contract - it was a bad contract given his age and antics. And because of the contract it makes it a bad trade. Both can be true

There has to be a Huge back story we don't know about. The compensation seems like Beane wanted to be rid of him & his cao hit. Either Diggs really wanted out & it was worse than we know (like his production went down bc he quit) OR Beane thinks he's cooked & not worth the $. I'm sure there could be other options too. It seems like a sudden rash trade.
It's a bad trade no matter how people try to rationalize it. GM's do dumb things sometimes. It happens

I disagree. I think he panicked. He had a diva WR he could no longer control and he took the best offer he could to unload him. Our cap is screwed and you can never rely on a rookie WR in their first year. This is bad

So much for all the constant "IT'S IMPOSSIBLE" "HE CAN'T BE MOVED"
He can, it's just completely idiotic to do so.
And yet here we are!

Why do it now and show your hand in the draft? Now everyone knows we are going WR. Why not wait until after we get a guy?

With two 2nd's next year, a high pick from next year is being used this year... I believe that to be the calculus.
We currently have Shakir and Samuel... We're getting two WR's in the Top 100 picks this year.
I hope you are right. Why do I feel like we are getting a bad DE and a 4th round WR?

Tyreek Hill was worth 2x 1sts. Diggs is worth a 2025 2nd? Ouch

A 2nd in 2025? Is that right? That's equivalent to a 3rd this year. Ouch we got fleeced!

Marvin Harrison Jr wants to be a Bill

The point is these things could happen. And I could win the lottery. It's highly unlikely and now we don't have a WR1 so we actually need the impossible. Not a good position to be in
