  1. The Trumpster said last night. he would like to pick OPRAH as his VP running mate.

You simply cannot make this stuff up. One late night comedian said last night he would be possibly

Laying off his writers. Since he won't need them anymore.

he could have owned the Bills.

what an incredible heaven sent gift the Pegulas are to this community. If you think Irsay is a joke how long before Trump embarrassed this franchise with something ridiculous.

  2. Forget about OL, I want Fred as and edge rusher doing this to Brady haha... Poorly Tommy might miss a photo shoot from all the bruising.

I know the day is coming, and soon, for when Fred is not around anymore, but DAMN have I enjoyed Fred on this team. He's hands down my favorite Bill. You can't give more of what you have to a team than he has to Buffalo.

    Exactly.

  3. This is why the defined benefit system has largely been discontinued by private enterprise in favor of defined contribution plans. Government should do the same.

The problem with defined benefit plans is that you can only guess how much money you need to invest today to pay people retirements in 40 years. Compound that with the rules that allow under-funding (even after taking the best guess), which bad management, corrupt unions and government all are happy to continue to allow (so they can get what they want today regardless of what happens in the future), and you have a recipe for disaster -- everyone is happy to dump the liability onto the taxpayers, who are certainly justified in wanting reasonable limits on retirement benefit promises that exceed the available funds.

With a defined contribution plan, the money goes into your account right now. No surprises, everyone knows what's in there. The employer doesn't owe you anything.

Agreed. A pension is much more attractive to the employee but less sustainable given the issues noted above. I have a pension from one employer as well as retirement savings but I am not convinced the pension will be there when I retire. Get it if you can but as a matter of US govt policy we should be moving to defined contributions if we want to control govt costs.

  4. Again you have a Giants D with two hall of fame coaches (one of which who is in the conversation for GOAT) and the greatest rush line backer in the history of the game. The guy who revolutionized the pass rush in general and his position in specific .

We have no one on the current team who is remotely in that conversation at this time.

That's a Bills offense which put up 51 or so points in an AFC championship game one of those first two years in snowy conditions. That wasn't done in that era.

Players are bigger and faster but not that much we aren't talking sixties players here steroids had made it to the NFL by then as did weight lifting supplements etc.

  5. Crazy talk. . . .any hall of farmers on this last years GB and Denver teams besides the QBs? Was the Manning or Rodgers we saw anywhere near as good as they have been over the last two years or even earlier last season? How has this defense done against Brady ?

Look I have a ton of hope for this years team, just like I have had on multiple occasions over the last twenty years but what has this D accomplished so far in terms of wins?

  6. Sorry that's crazy talk.

We are talking about an offense with multiple hall of fame players and in addition to those all time greats multiple pro bowlers.

The offense isn't as revolutionary now but with current rules would be able to make even more hay out of defenses.

This offense was the bedrock of four Super Bowl appearances in addition to multiple play off runs and at the time had a RB leading the league in total yards from scrimmage and one of the all time most successful QB to WR TD connections (since surpassed of course)

This offense was a major player in what remains the all time greatest playoff come back (I think.) with the backup QB at the controls.

The modern defense has a fair amount of talent and potential but is there a single hall of famer amongst them? It's been an integral part of a 9 win season at best.

Sure modern players are bigger stronger faster but that team would translate well into the modern game in terms of measurables. Pure talent and heart it's no comparison.

  7. Glad you all liked it. I had a lot of fun going back and looking at all of his plays.

Some of my favorite parts of watching Freddy play is when 2-4 defenders can be waiting for him a few yards in front of the first down marker and he still manages to plow through them for the first down.

I also love how he lowers his shoulder and makes them pay for trying to tackle him.

This was a stat I planned on looking up after doing this, just because the sheer number of first downs he got with that second effort was incredible.

Agree 100%. This Bills offensive line was terrible this year and Freddie kept making something out of nothing over and over again.
