That's 51 then ? 6th WR (Jackson) or CB (Lankster). Another OL or LB?

    PS- Brown, Roosevelt, Nelson, Calloway

  3. A perfect draft? Starters at LT, NT, DE, QB, OLB, RT, WR?

    1. Trade down from 9 to the high teens and a #2, draft Bruce Campbell, an uber-talented but unmotivated LT who happens to start dating Tony Robbins daughter.

    2. Mt. Cody falls to us at 41, marries a nutritionist, rooms with Campbell and they become best friends and neighbors.

    2b. Carlos Dunlap-passed out at a red light= Bruce 2.0

    3. Bills take a flyer on Tebow. After 3 victories, Trent is sidelined with injury. TT leads the Bills to a 4th quarter comeback. Scribes begin work on the 3rd Testament.

    4. Eric Norwood- Fans affectionately cheer "Wide Right!" after big plays.

    5. Jason Fox- miraculously falls to the 5th round due to TT prayer.

    6. Riley Cooper- Catches 2 balls per game but avg. 26.4 ypc. Sheer embarassment causes Evans, Hardy and Johnson to excel.

  4. OK - After a little research, the Towson Tigers are a Division I-AA team in the "Colonial Conference" and went a whopping 7-4 in 2006 - the year before Bushrod was drafted. Not a team I would be looking for starting left tackles... tells you something doesn't it.

Both those guys were playing due to injuries to the starters. Ugoh (2nd round-Arkansas) and Brown (1st round- Okla.)

  5. WTF? There goes our Special Teams.

I agree with the Lady. ST has been our best unit over the last few years and we just cut 2 "starters".

Since neither Jenkins or Wendling has started a game in the past 3 years, I fail to see how "These guys took spots from 2nd and 3rd stringers that could have provided depth when starters were injured."

Fine has more NFL starts than Maybin and Ellis combined. Sure, he's been hurt but he can probably make it through an off-season without injury.

I am all for improving the overall talent level but I don't think replacing our #6 WR. #6 safety and #4 TE is going to make any difference.

  6. Bills stick with a 4-3 as base defense. Here are players that give us the best chance to win over the next 2 years.

Bulaga- starts at LT: return of Igconito and Butler along with exp. for Levitre and Wood takes OL from awful to adequate.

Gilyard- really wanted an OLB here but none available. Adding rookie MLB and moving Poz in a 4-3 seems risky. Ideally, all 3 young WR's show enough to trade Lee for another 1st round pick in 2011.

Jones- Hard to get an impact player in the 3rd but DT's actually rotate so he could get some PT. Bonus pts.: SU, not McCargo.

I would then draft OLB back to back in hopes of finding a late round gem.

  7. I would take absolutely him in the third round.

Even if he never pans out as an NFL starting QB, he would be a good value. If he evolves to a decent backup, even better.

Wildcat, short yardage back, emergency QB, H-Back and possibly spot TE duty. Hell, he could probably come in and play ILB in a 3-4 as a rookie.

Mentally, physically and emotionally he is a first round prospect. Mechanically, not so much.

  8. Kyle Orton:low ceiling. Trent or Ryan could have equal numbers with better coaching/players. Yes our LT and coach were that bad.

    Chad Pennington: noodle, age

Tarvaris Jackson: Brett's waffling will keep him in Minny. Inconsistent.

    Kellen Clemens: UHGTBFKM!

Troy Smith– Restricted FA: I would give up a second for McNabb but no picks for a 5'10" QB with very little starting NFL exp.

Michael Vick: Great player, mediocre QB, felon, hasn't taken meaningful snaps in 3 years

Jason Campbell: some experience, some upside, played on a bad team, his coach left. Ready for a change?

  9. Instead of why not, I would ask why go after a 30 year old convicted felon with a 73.6 career rating

who hasn't started a game at QB since 2006 and is currently under contract?

BUT, He won at Lambeau Field!

In the first half, the Packers had a punt blocked that resulted in a touchdown, muffed a punt that led to another TD, missed a field goal and could not convert a 1st-and-goal at the Falcons 1. Favre also threw an interception in the opening quarter. Vick finished with a whopping 117 yards passing.

Million dollar arm- 10 cent head

  10. "Welcome to the NFL on NBC brought to you by Budweiser. We are here at AT&T stadium, the Met Life blimp is overhead and we'll be right back after these commercials starring Brett Farve and Peyton Manning."

I get the NFL's point but I hope the PR flack bites them in the nether regions. The money is for a  charity benefitting ex-NFL players.

IMHO it's akin to selling your kid's Girl Scout cookies at the office. Technically inappropriate but morally acceptable.

Capt. Morgan has to be loving it. More exposure than expected plus they don't have to donate the cash.

I think we can all agree Trent and Dick could benefit from having a little more of "the Captain" in them. :wallbash:

  11. I can say HONESTLY that I don't know one way or the other if Trent is being properly coached as I am not at practice everyday nor am I qualified to make that determination. My opinion is 100% pure speculation based on games I watch and numbers.

    .423- DJ's career winning percentage

4%- DJ's current approval rating on ESPN poll

1-11- 2009 combined record of teams who fired OC just before season

0- number of NFL starts by 3 of our linemen at the beginning of the season

90%- percentage of Jauron coached Bills games that I feel like he made at least one poor game day decision

I look at these numbers and can only conclude Dick is a BAD coach.

    I'd say 75% bad coaching/25% Trent sucks.

  12. Holding Walker, false start Johnson. 1st and 25. Now that's what I'm talking about.

Followed by a 4 yard pass, a 2 yard rush, and another false start. 3rd and 24.

Analytically, I can almost stomach this type of play calling in the second half of a regular season game. However, in the most meaningless game of the pre-season, with several starters out, following a turnover and a few successful plays;

I swear, if Jauron played blackjack, he wouldn't hit on 12.
